I am an avid reader of his writings in the Opinion column of Indian Express where he sculpts his thoughts and ideas in the most objective, ideated and unprejudiced manner and I envy his articulative abilities. However, the discomfiting truth is that such intellectuals cannot make a connect with ordinary masses who lack sufficient wisdom and knowledge to appreciate such nuanced dissection of issues said in the context of exalted democratic ideals, liberty, equality and fraternity.

Totally agree. However please note the questions raised by Pratap Bhanu were not about economy. What Rahul does is try to counter questions with another set of unrelated questions to divert.
Crux of the matter is there will always be different opinions in a society. Opinion not matching ours doesn't mean it is against country or government in general.
Thank God we have someone as clear headed as Mr. Mehta and who can in simple words make all understand the grave risk we all are in. It requires a cool mind to debate something that most Indians have no idea about due to thousands of years of dead brained acceptance of traditional values and scriptures that has no relevance in today's world. Its all about stealing of language, acquiring trademarks and labeling people into groups for easier exploitation by a few and this has been exposed succinctly despite attempt of clever manoeuvering by the host.
I have an easy Solution to war:-
In 1916 an amendment was proposed to the Constitution that all acts of war would be put to a national vote. Anyone voting yes had to register as a volunteer for service in the United States Army.
India also need a similar Constitutional Amendment so that who all want war(especially Media people) should volunteer in Military at LOC. Then only can innocent people will see/feel the betrayal of Media. In this way the idea of Nationalism will become crystal.
