Thank you, dear Steve McVey, for having summarized in the shortest & truest way possible! And allow me to add my two cents: It is Paul telling I believe three times of "my gospel" being differently than what all other New Testament authors understood as "gospel"! Paul has met the risen & glorified Lord, Acts 9. And he was chosen to be an apostle for the nations as Peter for the circumcised, Gal 2:7-8. And Paul saw gospel fully & entirely identical with Christ, while Peter confessed difficulties to understand that causes ignorant & unestablished folks to somehow distort things, see 2 Peter 3:16 - ὡς καὶ ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ἐπιστολαῖς, λαλῶν ἐν αὐταῖς περὶ τούτων, ἐν οἷς ἐστι δυσνόητά τινα, ἃ οἱ ἀμαθεῖς καὶ ἀστήρικτοι στρεβλοῦσιν, ὡς καὶ τὰς λοιπὰς γραφὰς, πρὸς τὴν ἰδίαν αὐτῶν ἀπώλειαν. Paul calls the Lord not as usual "Jesus Christ", but because he does not consider the "flesh" anymore, he calls him mostly "CHRIST JESUS", see 2 Cor 5:16 - ὥστε ἡμεῖς ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν οὐδένα οἴδαμεν κατὰ σάρκα· εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐγνώκαμεν κατὰ σάρκα Χριστόν, ἀλλὰ νῦν οὐκέτι γινώσκομεν. And that opened the way for Paul to witness total & complete "identification of believers & Christ in lives & death"! And this is a new thought Paul introduced thus "overtopping" the old thought of "FORGIVENESS" - Rom 5:1 calls it "JUSTIFICATION"! Is it our faith that counts? Hell nope! Humans are justified by the FAITH OF CHRIST, as most clearly Eph 3:12 using the phrase διὰ τῆς πίστεως αὐτοῦ, which is literally a genitive preposition διὰ + a genitivus subjectivus leading to a proper translation: through faith OF him (= Christ)! It is the faith OF Christ, that saves us, rather than believing IN him! And thus it gets better with Paul - he explains the matter of "deputyship of Christ FOR us"! A typical Pauline phrase is "ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν = for us"! And this is logical because Paul has recognized Christ as God´s ordained "replacement of the first Adam" thus becoming the "ultimate or last Adam", 1 Cor 15:45 - οὕτως καὶ γέγραπται Ἐγένετο ὁ πρῶτος ἄνθρωπος Ἀδὰμ εἰς ψυχὴν ζῶσαν· ὁ ἔσχατος Ἀδὰμ εἰς πνεῦμα ζωοποιοῦν. Otherwise said - now ther becomes understandable what Paul meant in 1 Cor 15:22 - For as in Adam all die, in Christ all will get vivified! - ὥσπερ γὰρ ἐν τῷ Ἀδὰμ πάντες ἀποθνήσκουσιν, οὕτω καὶ ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ πάντες ζωοποιηθήσονται. The πάντες = ALL is grammatically congruent to claim the "TOTAL VICTORY OF CHRIST OVER SIN & EVIL"! ALL CREATION WILL GET RECONCILED TO GOD, as Col 1:20 most clearly tells - καὶ δι’ αὐτοῦ (= Christ) ἀποκαταλλάξαι τὰ πάντα εἰς αὐτόν, εἰρηνοποιήσας διὰ τοῦ αἵματος τοῦ σταυροῦ αὐτοῦ, δι’ αὐτοῦ, εἴτε τὰ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, εἴτε τὰ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς. And when we additionally know from Paul, that Christ "completes believers", we see no real burden anymore to "follow Christ"! Col 2:10 uses a perfect participle πεπληρωμένοι = being completed ones, and the text καὶ ἐστὲ ἐν αὐτῷ πεπληρωμένοι means literally: YOU ARE IN HIM (= CHRIST) COMPLETED ONES! There is nothing to add! Paul marks salvation by using so called AORIST TENSES as "DONE DEAL" = ALL IS FINISHED & COMPLETED! There is no real "fight against sin", but rather "DECLARATION FROM GOD"! Rom 6:7 is in this matter absolutely clear - the one having died is declared free from sins - ὁ γὰρ ἀποθανὼν δεδικαίωται ἀπὸ τῆς ἁμαρτίας. This is Paul - absolutely relieving & relaxing, because ALL ARE INCLUDED IN CHRIST! Kind regards from Germany! And thank you again for your concise summary of what gospel originally meant! Amen. PS: It is Paul telling us most clearly that it is Christ (as perfect man being able to encounter fully God´s standards) on whom God looks WHEN HE REMEMBERS US - God has literally FUN declaring us parts of HIS FAMILY, Eph 1:5 - προορίσας ἡμᾶς εἰς υἱοθεσίαν διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ εἰς αὐτόν, κατὰ τὴν εὐδοκίαν τοῦ θελήματος αὐτοῦ...
Brother, what great insight and truth!!! I would love to hang out and have a beer with you and discuss Paul’s Gospel of Christ Jesus! Lol, many of my friends do not see the absolute difference between what Paul preached and wrote verses the garbage the modern evangelical church teaches! Bless you.
@ Ben Indahl, thank you so much for you kindness! It appears no coincidence of the closeness of two Greek terms: Χριστός CHRISTOS = CHRIST, THE ANNOINTED ONE and χρηστός CHRESTOS = KIND, GENNTLE leaving me to the conclusion: CHRIST = KIND & GENTLE. Paul´s legacy to a hopeless world on God consists in the "love chapter" 1 Cor 13. CHRIST appears like the PERSONIFIED LOVE CHAPTER 1 COR 13. And GOD in general is quasi the EXTENSION OF THE OLD KNOWLEDGE OF GOD BEING LOVE. And LOVE - AGAPE ἀγάπη - is the force in God´s hands to TRANSMUTE EVIL INTO GOOD, like Rom 8:28 most clearly witnesses - οἴδαμεν δὲ ὅτι τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν τὸν θεὸν πάντα συνεργεῖ εἰς ἀγαθόν = BUT WE KNOW THAT TO THOSE LOVING GOD ALL HAPPENING WORKS TOGETHER FOPR GOOD! Kindest regards & love from Germany!
Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. (Luke 13:23-24) God spoke through Jesus right? Isn't it reasonable to assume that Jesus said chose those words as a response because he meant that?
God wasn’t venting his anger on Jesus.. man was giving Jesus their worst and He took it all and said forgive em… read all of psalm 22.. God didn’t forsake Jesus at all… i agree ..if You read the Bible as letter .. it kills.. and God is anger more than He is love in the Old test.. but thats not how you read it.. if you read the revelation of Jesus by the letter.. it’s end time prophecy .. read by spirit and dig into the mysteries is Jesus Jesus and only Jesus.. just sayin
I have been questioning the "venting anger" theory recently. Is God genuinely ANGRY at us for sin? God chased down Adam and Eve after they sinned, provided a skin covering for their nakedness, and declared war on their enemy. God loved us while we were sinners. Col 1:21 says we are enemies in our minds. Rom 14:22 says we condemn ourselves. The death of Jesus could be God PROVING TO US that "God is with us" (Immanuel) and that we do not need to run from Him. Maybe that truth required Him to take on our consequence for sin so that we could believe that He loves us and He is with us.
1 Corinthians Chapter 15 1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
I have only just found this channel and I have decided to subscribe. I am wondering how to understand the following Bible verse ...1) Isaiah 53:10 where it states God's pleasure in crushing Jesus. @@LoveUnrelenting I have read both articles and shall re-read them. Both are very interesting but valid questions are also posed in the respective comments sections that accompany them . Also earlier this evening I was watching some of Brian Zhand and Dr Brown's 'Monster God' debate which is interesting and thought provoking.
The book of James was written to Jewish believers that were scattered abroad. You can see that in the beginning of the book. James, Peter and John did not have a full revelation of the grace of God. They taught that Jewish people that believed in Jesus needed to keep the law as well, but they agreed that gentile believers were never to keep the Law. So when you read James, you’re reading a book that James wrote to Jewish Christian believers. You can read about this in Acts most importantly Galatians where Paul wrote that according to the Gospel that Jesus taught him, neither Jews and Gentiles were to keep the Law any longer. There was a huge conflict between Paul and the rest of believers, and I believe they never settled this conflict. It is because of this that the church is so divided, because people don’t understand this conflict. Stick to Paul which is the apostle of the Gentiles and his messages of grace and you’ll be established
Let's compare Roman Catholic church and Hillsong. People in RCC are obsessed by trying to become saints, everything is about 'do do do'. That is in peoples hearts and that is what they are practicing. Theologians and their books can say differently about that church, but that makes no sense, because it is important what is 'in the air above people heads'. In Hillsong church is the opposite, people worship God for what He has done for them. And that is great. Yes, there are millions of problems in evangelical churches and part of these people don't believe in what they should believe, but I haven't seen anywhere else better so far. In other words, from a bigger perspective, I believe in evangelical churches still dominates the Gospel.
So surprised Steve doesnt get it right........here is the real one....... 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: This is what the risen Jesus gave to Paul.......
lol READ THE NEXT VERSE SIR! Rom 5:9 “Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more, shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.” We needed to be Justified & Saved from the wrath of God. Your False Gospel will be exposed! Jesus came to save Sinners 1 Tim 1:15. He cherry picks a verse and creates his own doctrine. I don’t expect you to keep this post up. The Knights are Awakened and We will not let up!
3:00 he says God loves and accepts people and he says this as a broad sweeping statement applying to everyone. That's a lie. God does not accept everyone while they are still in rebellion against Him. He literally tells people when they face Him: depart from me, I never knew you. That is not acceptance. He only accepts those who have repented and humbled themselves. You have to turn from your wicked ways before you can be accepted. This man would have you believe God accepts people living in sin and says well done to them as they spit in his face.
Steve, the forgiveness of sins is not salvation, the restoration of the Holy Spirit is. Forgiveness was the catalyst that made salvation possible, which is why what christ did is good news that is to believed. If Christ didn’t pay for sin, then there’s no way anyone could receive the Holy Spirit and he remain. All sins have to be taken away so the Law of sin and death could be dealt with. The law of sin and death is what caused the Holy spirit to depart from Adam and Eve when they didn’t believe God concerning the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and ate. What you’re describing is universalism. So, today, The Gospel is Christ died for our sins and rose again on the third day. All people are forgiven, this is true but not all people are saved. In order to be saved, you must be born again and that is only by receiving the free gift of eternal life. God was very clear when he spoke to Nicodemus, “You must be born again” and people who do not have the Holy Spirit reject the simplicity of the Gospel. I’m sorry, I’m going to have to vehemently disagree with you. No man can go to hell for the sin of transgressing the law but they can go to hell for rejecting the one who brought life into the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, God manifested in the flesh. Heaven will be filled with people who believed and are alive in Christ. But hell will be filled with people who heard the true Gospel of grace and they rejected it, those are the spiritually dead and unfortunately what do you do with dead things, you burn them.
Perfect outline of the Gospel.
It isn't partially good news, it's completely good news! Amen!
tears from the holy spirit
Wow, what a wonderful view. I'm all on board. I do my best to teach this too.
Exactly. You do not believe a fact in order for it to be true, but rather because it already is true.
Beautifully stated. Thank you.
I’m in…. SO good to see you here Steve.
Now that's Amazing Grace right there.

The Jewish Christians promoted the 'sacrifice' theory which Paul fought against. Today it is being embraced.
