I love Picard's face change when the door chime goes off and he realises it is probably Beverley coming for their usual breakfast and he totally forgot about it.
It is brilliant.
I found it brilliant how it was the crew that pulled together to send the captain off on that particular shore leave in the first place and now they are sort of in cahoots getting the details about that shore leave out of Vash, it is such a fun episode
To be quite honest, unless JLP and Crusher had any real intentions for a romantic relationship, then both of them are free to do as they please. They're friends. If Beverly has any real mutual feelings for Jean-Luc, they should act on them rather than let a stranger jump in and do a one night stand or whatever

As a kid I never picked up on the fact that the previous scene ended late at night, and this scene picks up to breakfast. LMAO!
Anyone notice it's probably about 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning and Riker is already throwing one back at the bar.
He could have been on the night shift - they do rotate around a bit. That and it isn't necessarily alcohol.

These types of character interaction are my favourite part of this episode! And so cool to see Vash again!

It's not often that one see Captain Picard so thoroughly outmaneuvered. Jean Luc must have shuddered to think of what information those ladies would share.
This is one of my favorite episodes because we see the captain get yelled at by his old lady. And she’s right.

I never realized it when I watched the show as a kid during the original run, but damned if Dr. Crusher can rock a blue sweater.
Picard... famously alone, yet as soon as a woman "friend" appears on board, the whole crew is conspiring to mess it up for him.
"Jean-Luc does a very good imitation of you." was probably meant as "He can compete easily with you.".
Also, that he never mentioned Vash could be seen as a compliment or generally positive trait. He does not brag about his women. He treats it as something special, to be kept private.
I think he's also somewhat uncomfortable discussing romantic matters.
I thought "Jean-Luc does a very good imitation of you," meant that his personality was cheesy and people make fun of him in private.
Interesting fact.. 1 of the actors names that appears on screen is "Clive Revill"... And who is he you may ask?... Well none other than the ORIGINAL Emperor palpatine /Darth Sidious from the original "the empire strikes back" before Ian McDiarmuid got the part for "Return of the Jedi".
That's one more connection between Star Trek and Star Wars that I'm aware of now.

I have also heard it said that it was a woman who played palpatine in the original 1980 esb release and it was Clive revell who just provided the voice but either way the reason palpatine has big eyes in that scene is chimpanzee eyes were super imposed on the actors face. Lol.

Omg. I could see the baby bump under that blue weater gates McFadden wore. If i didn't know that she was pregnant in one of the seasons i wouldn't have even picked up on it. Calling Dr. Crusher the love of Picard's life is going too far. They were highly-compatible and had a smoldering attraction, but they were not in love -- not least because Picard once gave an order that resulted in the death of Dr. Crusher's husband.
They had a kid but even in picard it shows they are not lovers
For those who don't understand Vash's surprise that Picard didn't mention her to anyone. She's from an alternate universe where she was a prom queen and Picard was a schoolboy when they first had sex; and in that universe Picard bragged about what he did to her to all his buddies. That's why now she's having difficulties understanding why Picard kept everything discreet.

This episode encapsulates everything right, and everything wrong, with Star Trek. It has all of these great stories about people, and then it muddles these stories with contrived, ad hoc scifi silliness.
Picard told Vash everything about Crusher? I saw that episode. It was action-orientated, easy on dialogue. Picard met Vash, had his adventure and off. Picard didn't say nuthin' about Crusher, I'm callin' Flashy Vashy out on this one.
