- While it's easy to romanticize living in a new country, the reality can be quite different from what you might expect. Having experienced both the tourist's perspective and the resident's reality, I've come to realize that there are significant differences between visiting a place and actually living there.
Don't get me wrong, I don't regret my decision to move abroad. In fact, I've never been happier with the life and routines I've established. However, it's important to acknowledge that nothing is inherently perfect, and there are lessons I wish I had known before booking that ticket to Seoul.
If you're considering a move abroad or simply curious about the realities of expat life, I have some insights and advice to share. Before making your decision, hear me out.

To see my videos evoking emotions live on stream is...really surreal. I’m planning for a life away from my home country as well and this fear of just having access to a temporal almost transient community as a transplant is one of my biggest anxieties. First and foremost, thank you so much for having good faith in my video to go through all of that work just to watch a piece of my soul. I really, truly am honored and so so grateful to have people not only watching a piece of me but also resonate with those feelings because I hold them so dearly and close to my heart. I know the prospects of our future abroad is such a gamble, I’m glad you’re taking the step towards it. Ive been lucky enough to find peace in the fact that friends are seasonal, but those who we make the deepest connection never truly leave. Let’s be braver and reach out to other wandering souls without attaching the weight that comes with building lasting friendships. Every connection happens for a reason. They may not last a lifetime, but the experience will fill up a page in the book that is you. love your videos. i'm moving back to the midwest from phoenix soon and though it's vastly different than living across the ocean from home, i still feel a sense of aching nostalgia to leave, scared to revisit these memories once i'm gone. beautiful storytelling!
