I loved the food in Korea (well, most of it) and the scenery. The people I met were gracious even when we couldn't converse. The funniest part of my experience in Korea was going to dinner with a fellow American. She (Caucasian) spoke Korean while I (Asian) didn't. The waitresses would come up to me and ask for the order in very quick Korean. I'd sit there looking dumbfounded while my friend would respond and give our order -- the kids around us would just stare, trying to digest the dichotomy of the situation.

Bread is made sweeter in Korea because it is considered a snack such as cookies and other desserts, not a main meal.

*_My cons about South Korea from my own personal experience_*
_DISCLAIMER_ South Korea is indeed a beautiful country, and a place that I will visit again once COVID is over with 😪 & regardless of the bad things I experienced, I did enjoy some time spent in Seoul. No country is perfect and will always have their pros & cons. But next time I will bring someone who speaks Korean and knows the country well haha.
*1.* Many places takes advantage of foreigners (which I guess is a given in most asian countries, it may also be depending on what part of S.Korea).
*2.* I also experienced a little bit of racism. Definitely noticed that my white/light skin friends were treated a little differently maybe a little bit better vs. those who are a little bit more tan/darker.
*3.* Taxi drivers CAN BE RUDE AF.
*4.* I got scammed at a restaurant, in which I confirmed the prices first before I ordered (total was supposed to be around $30 bucks) and the owner changed prices when it was time for me and my bf to pay. We ended up paying $70 for a big bowl of soup that was cooking on a portable stove, 3 big dumplings and 1 can of coke.
*5.* Two days after the restaurant incident, me and my bf got a taxi to take us to the airport, we were worried that we are gonna be late (it was supposed to be a 25-30 min drive including traffic), and the taxi driver assured us that he will get us to the airport on time and that he will take us to the faster route. Only to find out that he's taking us to the LONGER route, which cost us more money and resulted in us missing our flight. *_At this point I was so turned off by S. Korea that I wanted to go back home_* 🤣
*Now, this all happened in the Gangnam area & idk if this is like a thing that goes on there but anyway, I definitely had a MUCH MUCH better experience in Busan. I suppose it's because it's more of the "country" side, therefore, people were more relaxed, not very stressed and they are a lot nicer. Also, I didn't get scammed at all. The taxi drivers were so polite too. Visiting Busan definitely made up for everything. *

Drinking soju complemented with korean drinking snacks while seated outside of a convenient store during winter is so so fun experience!! Especially when there are some locals there doing the exact same thing. If you're lucky, they may share their food and drinks! Wish I can go Seoul and Busan again!! The other time when I was in MyeongDong, an electric fire broke out next to the restaurant I went, first thing the owner does is close the doors, and tell us "Its OK" while she ran in and out of her restaurant. What an experience! Hahaha

Yo know i am not criticising but europe is full of me but no respect to elders. I learned about organic products and respect and love. Patiance andsacrifice in love. K and c dranas are my fuel. Yesterday i finished "as long as yo love" drma. And waiting to upload more ep of "my little happiness"

7:43 u should come to india unnie, it is worse than in south korea 😖😖😭😭😭 even though we have enough bins, people throw in the streets😭😭😖😖😑😑. What i like about south korea is the scenery and places. I like the culture to. It is beautiful. The places, culture, the food, the sceneries, languages etc of any country is what makes the country unique and special about it 💜💜💜💜💜💜. I want to go to South korea. I love the places and the sceneries. They are so beautiful. Another reason is South korea is one of the safest countries to go and live. The places are just.... so beautiful it is tempting me to go there . And because of how kind people are over there. Whenever i meet someone in india and we become friends, the next day we are not friends anymore. Most of the time I have rude people around me (except my family). Saranghae unnie!!!💜💜💜

Korea is a really nice place to visit, but I can’t say the same when it comes to work. Especially if you’re working for an organization and not as a freelancer or entrepreneur. It’s confucianism taken out of context; respect isn’t earned but purely on the basis of age and status. There’s still a huge amount of bullying and favoritism in corporate settings and massive gender inequality. Appraisals aren’t based on merit but rather the relations with superiors. The emphasis on age and hierarchy has created such a huge divide between generations that it’s almost impossible to have genuine friendships outside of your age group. One huge ‘pro’ though; there isn’t a concept of retrenchment if you’re working for a conglomerate. Once you’re in, you’re set for life regardless of your performance. But still, Korea is my favorite and will always be my 2nd home.

According to my mom, the reason why Korea doesn’t have public trash bins is due to the fact that people just tossed half lit cigarettes into them, or loitered around them to drink at night. The action was carried out mainly to weed out drunkards, homeless people, and heavy smokers burning them up.
