Yesterday I got my hands on a bunch of Arcade1Up Leaked Prototype Pictures for some titles the community has been asking for for a very long time. Let's look at the images and see what they were working on and what is likely could still make it to retail.

I will buy everyone instantly at $399, at $499 everyone but 1 a month and at $599 I’d still get everyone but I’d try and wait for sales

This confirms what I've thought all along....John D had a awesome vision but without direct to consumer model most of these cabs were dead in the water.....and now it looks like Arcade1up is sinking and dead in the water because of it. There best days are now behind them!
I beg to differ. Arcade 1 up best days are ahead of them as long as you don't mind waiting until 2052.
I bought T2 at launch for 699 with 1 game because I loved the game and controls. I would do the same again in a heart beat for Paperboy
You can see in the marquee that the Tetris/QBert cab is a re-skinned Mortal Kombat.
Give me a Paperboy with the proper controls...and that 720 machine with the proper joystick...and I'm there to buy both!

If Glen would make a handlebar add-on mod for his flight yoke we could easily make our own Paperboy. If they did Smash TV they must also offer it in a Robotron skin. Qbert needs a dedicated cab.

That was some cool stuff...thanks for sharing @MichaelBtheGameGenie . You know me, I would love that Smash TV as long as it had Robotron on it (would prefer a Robotron though). All those cabs would've really peeked my interest except for that Tetris abomination.

Paperboy and 720 were cool, and I would have seriously considered Smash TV depending on what other games were included, but Pong is gorgeous.
I may have to own two dedicated Pong products from A1Up if they ever release that.

They should just sell the paperboy handlebars and the spy hunter yoke at this point for mods if they already have the design

Wow that qbert/tetris cab is an old moc. It has the wings on the control deck. How old are these pics?
Smash TV is also an old legacy cab, it's hard to place because they also have the DLX 720 and Pong there right?

That Atari 50 cab is based on a real arcade design, it's just the Breakout cocktail cabinet, not Pong.
Great details, thanks! I definitely would like a Smash TV. Having Tetris is definitely a WTF moment. They'd be better off just having it be a true Q-bert cabinet.
It would be great if Arcade1up could finally just communicate with their fan base! Also make 720! 🛹

Paperboy and atari pong would of been must buys for me, I hope they will get released someday. The other cabs look pretty sick and I hope they get released for the fans that want those games. Except the tetris qbert one is just stupid they need a dedicated q bert
I've wanted a twin stick shooter cab forever... could have had Total Carnage, Smash TV, and Robotron 2084. Would be nice to see this happen, haven't bought an Arcade1Up cab in years.... this would make me come back for just one more.

Qbert could have qbert, qberts qubes, fhmc qbert, and mad planets. Don't complicate it. That pong looks sick as well as the smash tv
Most of those cabs can be made by us with the proper art work... The rest would have the same problems we all complain about... And yes FOR YEARS A 1up has been about getting these in Walmart best buy..etc, I mean where did we first see these things? A1UP really HAVE NEVER been direct to consumer, they're not changing....
All of them are pretty interesting. Much love for Spy Hunter and Smash TV/Robotron. I want Q-Bert, but don't know about a mash-up with Tetris. 720 looks insane, definitely a strange form factor, but I have no experience with the game. I never had much love for Paperboy (sorry), but they look to have done it justice with this prototype (as opposed to its inclusion on the Midway machines). I have the Pong pub table (mostly for Warlords), so I would not have been interested in the Pong stand-alone. Though it is miles ahead of the Atari 50th (like you said).
And I am still mad at Arcade 1up about them not putting out the Universal Pinball. I would gladly give up Star Wars (which I bought) and Marvel (which I wanted no part of) to have a machine with Jaws, Back to the Future, and ET.
Paperboy, Spy Hunter & Pong are insta-buys. 720 is pretty high up there, depending on other games included (and made sense). Qbert/Tetris is a pass. Art looks awful and the combination tells me it's not a dedicated 45 degree 4-way stick. Plus my modded Qbert beats the pants off it. Smash TV...that's a tough one as if I get it I'd definitely change the artwork to Robotron and don't know if I can justify the money to buy one just to add more money to change it.

Wow! I actually own a project Paperboy that might just need new monitur. (just fired it up yesterday) Also a Qbert that I bought the multi board which Im yet to install. I own the cp Soy Hunter too but it needs full restoration. I would totally buy PB, Qbert, SH & 720 if they release. Theres nothing like an original but the 1UPs are brand new & usually come with other titles that are impossible to find. I own 8 1Ups so I'm with you guys 🤙🎮🕹️💪

Smash tv looks great and spi hunter would be great but what other games with i? Be honest, do you really think they are gonna release anything this year?
I would want the 720 if they can pull it off but as I owner of owning the real 720 arcade before, I know that full 360 joystick can be a issue.
I want a Xybots and Xenephobe cab with proper shape and controls. I dont see how you can play Tetris on that hybrid cab with vertical joystick designed for Qbert

Incredible. I would've bought all of these cabs. Every single one. How do you not do SpyHunter?!!!! So disappointing.
720, Spy Hunter (if standup), Paperboy, Q-Bert (if solo), Smash TV are all buys. I think having unique control schemes make an arcade more interesting...So I'd buy a Sinistar Midway/Williams also.

Spy Hunter is the final piece to my arcade, this is all I want but prefer just a stand up version instead of a sit down version. I need this game and it’s music to fill my arcade, it’s also my Pops favorite game of all time so I’d probably buy him one also

So the leaked list was true all along, but then John D. got let go or something. Those are really cool cabs. They would have been a hit with diehard 80's arcade fans. Some guy named Shaun turned a stand up OutRun into Paperboy with a custom Glen yoke and custom graphics from a UK site.. He is on a Facebook Arcade1up modding group. I don't know why they would put Paperboy on MK cabs with joysticks. It needs the handlebar yoke to play properly. I wanted to see a Lethal Enforcers prototype. There was a House of the Dead 2 prototype shown on yt from June 2021. It looked like a Big Buck with shotguns but with angled front. I was just going to make my own LE, HOTD2, or even Carnevil cab mod with Wii or Retro Shooter guns or Sindens. I wish John D. could start his own company and release some of these cabs or if Arcade1up could release them without him. They blew their chance to have some really cool cabs out there some with new form factors not seen before but they reused the OutRun shape for Spy Hunter and the Star Wars shape for Paperboy.
That six player X-Men cabinet would have been awesome. There was also a Contra prototype back in the day that sadly never got released. Ever since John D left, Arcade1up has gone to shit!

Most probable would be Tetris simply because of recognition (just like Pac-Man). I would be most excited for 720 out of the ones shown here… as long as it wasn’t $720.

Licenses for starters. Just because a prototype exists doesn't mean everyone is on board. Often times prototypes are built to present to potential license partners and if they're not on board, that's the end of it.. it remains a prototype.
@@xxBla1zexxI get that but, I believe with some of these titles, they’ve mentioned having the licenses (or had at one time if they don’t still). It was just the retailers who were not interested.
Yes not every title will pass a prototype stage, but some of these could have. I mainly just wish they’d have attempted the crowdfunding route again.
@@ChrisNxNWsometimes the licensors are not interested in their products being crowdfunded and may withhold their license from you unless you present a strong sales strategy and interested major retailers who are on board. Also, storage rental space is an issue and can be costly.
@@user-jm8bj1hd3dno, I understand. Licensors would be a big hurdle. Was just hoping that based off the success of the infinity kickstarter, they could have gone that route again. But yes multiple parties have to be on board.
Retailers have been the crux for awhile, but that’s business. The market post pandemic has been part of it too. Different needs, physical space, cost, shipping…..etc.
I’m just a guy in line with others who wanted more lol.

Man…Arcade1up really screwed up by not releasing some of these this year. The Pong, Smash TV, and Tetris would’ve been buys for sure.

I thought they didn't want to do any more sit downs after SW and OutRun? Ridge Racer and Fast and the Furious are stand up. But, you could sit at them with a taller chair.

I would be very interested in SmashTV/Robotron, Spy Hunter, 720, as well as maybe even Q*bertris.
Not sure if I would be able or willing to snap them all up on day 1, but those are all titles that I would like to see. 🤞🥹

If I could have two, it would depend on how well executed it was, but based on the images shown, probably 720. That cab was so audacious even back then, I would love to try to find a place to squeeze it into my home arcade!
