    Shoppers looking for a compact crossover have plenty of options. New for 2023, Kia has updated the Sportage to provide sharp, futuristic styling and not one, but two new powertrains. A Sportage Hybrid and a Sportage PHEV will help drivers save gas, but can they elevate this compact crossover ahead of the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V in an incredibly crowded field?

    I got the sportage hybrid sx version but I notice the mpg isn't quite 38mpg more like 32-35 but it quiet when it's on the hwy. I notice the engine sometimes jerks when I come to a stop and then go, I'll see if there is any recalls on the engine hopefully not.

    Thanks for an interesting review. I really like the interior and exterior looks of the Sportage Hybrid. A definite improvement. My concern would be adding the complexity of a turbo engine with the hybrid. Plus I often see that adding a turbo to a vehicle leads to using more gas rather than using less. The reviews I have seen/read that show the real world numbers for this hybrid are much lower than the EPA numbers (closer to 35-36 rather than 43 mpg). I would sacrifice the great looks to get a hybrid that is going to get me the max mpg. I look forward to seeing the long term mpg numbers and reliability.

    • @homelackin2234
      @homelackin2234 Рік тому +2

      Problem is nobody wants a slow car 😭, also turbo means less gas for hp versus a stronger engine. If you drive properly, your gas mileage won't be affected but when you gun it or rev higher rpms, of course it'll eat gas

The girl promised to switch us back to our original guy and have him call me the next day. Never heard a word. (I had saved up enough at this point to buy the car WITH CASH!!!) Ended up going to Lexus to look at the newly redesigned RX 350h. I told my husband if that was the level of service I could expect from Kia BEFORE I bought the car, if rather spend double the money and go with Lexus where I knew I'd be taken care of appreciately. We went to Kia a week later to cancel the order. As soon as we walked I told the girl I was there to cancel my order. She said " but your car is arriving Dec 20th." I told her that I wasn't informed of that and I never received a phone call. She was very apologetic but at this point I was fine. I've never had a good experience with Kia and I am done with them forever!!! Sticking with the Lexus.
