I just put a deposit down today on a Hybrid EX coming in next week. MSRP. I just got lucky with allocation I think. I definitely wanted the Hybrid. Mostly for the increase in power and torque. I don't like the center console as much, but I can live with small things like that. I definitely prefer the hybrid of this car.

I'm so close to doing the same, but I can't get over the center console. If they could only clean that area up-and give it a new gear shift. Ugh.

@@slicunit I hear you man. I dont like it but it was mostly the piano black on the center console. I found overlays you can put on there though. Wood finish or carbon fiber. I think that will help a lot!

@@Briguy1027 I found luck going into the dealer and saying I would order one. Many were willing to order at MSRP. I just got lucky that they had some coming in when I went.

I've been saying for years Kia Hyundai use poor cheap wire harnesses which turn into electrical problems on the vehicles & now fires, I had a 16 Sorento what a nightmare almost everything broke electrical issues up the a** battery continually dying, moon roof wouldn't close just a disaster, they entice with the designs of the car but reliability eventually catches up to you... I remember Hyundai back in the 80s Pony Stellar were also disasters.

If you hold the AC/Nav button down it will keep going back to that setting in the future, just nobody knows about that feature. So you always know which one it's on.

I will take my 2013 Sportage over the new one ; I have 257 HP ,and can go 350 miles on a full tank. There lots of leg room in the front, but not so much in the back. The maintenance had been great, 3 recalls, but other than that, no problems; I take it on long trips and love it, at 257,000 miles still run great.

I agree with your assessment on the Kia Sportage. I test drove the hybrid and the base model. The hybrid has a ten year 100k mile warranty but I'd reach the 100k miles way before the ten years (which covers the battery, $5,000 replacement). I went with the base model (which looks and performs amazing). The hybrid also has a turbo, another expensive cost after the warranty expires. I'd like to note that I'm 6'3" and i have plenty of leg room. My new Sportage is beautiful, white with black interior. The base model still has the get up and go when you get to the pedal to the floor, you're not gonna have jackwads tail gating you with their horns. So far I'm happy with my purchase. I only have 50 miles on it so I'm ready to see what's next.

My wife and I loved the new look, even the new logo. We wanted a hybrid model, but all the dealers we looked at were charging $3-5k OVER msrp, and you still had to wait weeks/months for it to come in. That was a non-starter. We paid msrp for a Honda CRV that was had a higher msrp, but was cheaper after dealer markups. Kia/Hyunai dealerships may have made more money in the short term, but they've lost my business in the future.

I negotiated a Sportage SX Prestige down to $2k over MSRP, but the dealer wouldn’t go to MSRP. Loved the tech, but it’s a ridiculous price for a car with faux leather and questionable depreciation.
I wound up putting down a deposit on a CR-V Sport Touring instead, because it wound up costing less. I wish Honda offered the pano roof and surround camera.

I looked around and found an out of state dealer who will sell a PHEV at MSRP and so ordered form him. NM isn't getting any, nor are Toyota dealers for RAV4 Primes. I have solar on my home and so I will likely drive ~70% of my driving pure EV (in the summer as the gas engine runs for heating when it's turned on). NM has one of the highest solar indices in the country, but not much EV allocations? Go Figure.

Kia literally blew those dominating brand names out of water with this 2023 Sportage in same segment SUV. the tech and safety future alone is non-starter for those dominating brands. Ride quality is surprisingly top notch and factory warranty can' be beat by anyone out there. Good job Korean guys !!

Just so you know , wireless android and Apple car modes are vastly inferior to wired. They disconnect all the time , for no apparent reason , which is especially frustrating when using navigation software. So the wired option is fine and I wish reviewers would stop treating it like a detriment. I had this as a hire car while my current car was getting repaired for about a week. I liked it so much I bought it . Here's some thoughts
    1. The screen icons not being different. Drive it for like 2 days and you'll know where everything is .
    2. Dual function button bar . You set maps up when you start your journey, and then leave it on climate control.
    3. Lane assist - This is terrible (not unique to this car ). Just turn it off .
    4. Performance - Honestly it feels fine . The only time you'd really notice is when you're on a one lane highway and an overtaking lane comes up and you have to get past the car ahead. Sport mode helps .
    Highly recommend this car.

The wireless projection is a head unit limitation. Kia/Hyundai f’d up really bad this time. No need to come up with excuses such as wireless is not as reliable as wired. I have had issues with both, when the phone wouldn’t connect no matter what. Overall, I have had solid experience with Accord when it comes to a wireless CarPlay, a rock-solid experience.

I love my X-Pro. This is my first Kia, but my daughter is on her 3rd Kia, unfortunately her first two Optimas were totaled, not her fault and she walked away not injured. She had to get a Forte due to the COVID shortages, so Kia has a solid history in my household. So when I decided to shop, I went Toyota first & was happy, then I shopped Kia, they won me over, better styling, features, comfort, price and warranty. Great Job Kia. And time will tell if their reliability meets the others, I’m banking they will.

Apparently vehicle review channels can't be bothered to read a manual. You can *set infotainment or HVAC to default* with a simple push of the button! You don't need to look to see which screen you're on. I haven't seen hardly any reviews(er's) that know this information.
Set whichever screen you prefer to default and the system will automatically switch back to it. It won't stay on the last screen but instead 'default' to whichever screen you set ;-0. This is for *all* Kia vehicles with this system BTW.

potential companies to do business with, I would seriously debate doing business with Kia finance or any of their related companies. The various departments went out of their way, repeat out of their way to cause such inconvenience for me that it's nearly unspeakable. At the end of my lease I was provided options to purchase or return a vehicle but also had the option to exsend the lease up to 6 months while choosing to make a decision on a new purchase or lease. I simply wasn't ready yet. I was told I had the option to continue leasing my current vehicle for another 6 months with full coverage. The company accepted 2 months of advanced payments so I was covered at least until June 20th. I did this all Believing that I had my least extension however I've been receiving notices from a different apartment saying I was in default and needed to return the car immediately. After sorting through all the disputed information it turns out that regardless of how many people at the head of various departments told me that I was allowed to continue the least, the bylaws of the company do not allow the least to continue under the name of a deceased person. At the time of my lease it was more advantageous to have my father Under his credit than mine. My credit is great now. However because the lessor is no longer living, there is no transfer option there is purchase or return. They let me believe I was on a month to month I paid 2 months ahead I paid a full year's registration and repairs to the car , I might not have committed to doing all those things if the intention would have been to return the vehicle for a new one... I am now left with very little options That will see me right side up with a vehicle, other than buy the car. I'm in a position now where I must buy the vehicle, With the expenses already put in it's counter productive not too. But you can feel that I don't Really want to give that corporation any money. I'm almost willing to cut my nose off to spite my face just to not give them another penny however they will back end me to death with return charges so again I'm caught between a rock and a hard place.
I got screwed royally and burned in the process to be dragged through the mud to have to re punish all of my father's documents to the deceased department just to be told That what I was originally told isn't true. I have no recourse....
So, KIA... what's next? My intent might be to buy the car now, but when I get around to paying for it is a whole different story.....

I want to know how these cars warfare once they get close to 100,000 miles. My car is doing fine, albeit with engine oil consumption issues, but not as bad as it could be, and my mom’s 2016 Sorento had its engine seize at 60,000 miles (in the middle of driving). Took them a month and they didn’t reimburse for any rentals. She called consumer affairs and they basically said she was shit out of luck. My boyfriend’s mom has a Hyundai Sonata and it took them a few days shy of three months to replace the engine. Neither my mom nor my boyfriends mom had a loaner and Kia didn’t seem to give a shit I love my 2018 Optima, but with all the issues I feel like I just can’t trust them anymore. :/ I tried calling consumer affairs about issues I was having with engine oil consumption and they didn’t care at all either. There’s a reason they have a class action lawsuit starting for it. 😩 After all these issues surrounding Hyundai and Kia, I’m going to have to see the cars last for a while and have fewer engine issues like seizing and fires before I get another one. I had two people at the dealership told me to dump the car and another person told me to let the engine seize because that was the only way they would replace the engine. No idea wtf is wrong with this company and I feel like they’re not doing anything to appease existing customers. I think it’s fine if you are leasing and not planning on keeping the car for a long time or to high mileage.

      @@brokeboy87 I won’t argue with you.
I personally know 3 different people who have owned a KIA and 2 Hyundai products and 2 caught fire and the other one, the engine locked up at 90K miles forcing Hyundai to put in a new engine.

Their new logo was a very bad option, when I saw it on the road for the first time, I thought it was a new brand, new vehicle being manufactured from an unknown company.

Kias are JUNK! I've been selling them since 2008, they come off the truck with 4 miles, blown engines wont shift, dashboard not working, worst road noise ever on highway STAY AWAY FROM KIA.

I travel a lot and already have 15000 miles on my Kia. It has not burned any oil. So tell me, exactly when will mine start burning oil?

potential companies to do business with, I would seriously debate doing business with Kia finance or any of their related companies.
