After reading a few comments I find it funny that a few weeks ago People got on Jimmy for using the CNC on the candle holder and the bandsaw stand and now people say why didn't you CNC this sign? WTF? Jimmy kills it in every medium with any tool!
hahah thank you
I agree 100%. It matters not which method or tool Jimmy uses, the result is almost (no one's perfect!) always a joy to behold. And, while it's sad that the NY workshop is to be no more, it's a rare "company" that remains in the same premises forever. It would be far sadder if he was stopping doing stuff - he's only moving "house". ;-)
jimmydiresta
Hello jimmy please i am a fan of your im portugues i am musician and i would like to have a musical piece for arrangement in my musical studio ... i will pay all the costs of your wonderful work ... i hope your answer thanks abraco good work.
jimmydiresta you are a fuckin pro, and a pleasure to learn from. Thanks for the constant videos that we all learn from.
I have too say it's bittersweet watching the last videos in NYC shop. Thanks Jimmy.
Brian Marcum Definitely. It's the end of an era, but the beginning of an even better one.
I'm super excited for the new shop.
Absolutely
Never get sick of watching your bandsaw skills. Thanks again Jimmy
There's a reason you're the Godfather, Jimmy. I'm exhausted just watching that video, I can only imagine the amount actual work that went into that gorgeous sign. Well done!
you are the most patient man in the world
Todd Krasick i think you've never watched Clickspring
Todd Krasick Oh god, the amount of time that man spends hand cutting, lapping, and polishing makes my brain hurt... I get impatient enough running a half hour CNC cycle.
Watching Jimmy cut letters out with the bandsaw inspired me to give it a try with some scrap wood. It is definitely an acquired skill and is going to take some more practice on my part.
My grandfather was a goldsmith and I spend half of my childhood in his workshop. Watching your videos brings back a lot of memories. Thank you!
All the elegance, work & skill of Georgian makers in the 21st century! It radiates all the love & care that went into it, in a way that mass produced stuff never can; such a privelidge to see how it was made! Thank you!
Fabulous sign and the skills that went into were sensational!
THE BAND SAW BANDIT IS BACK
Sean Hogan 😂😂😂😂😂
One of my favorite sign builds so far. Love the detail work.
I enjoy when the camera switches to real-time and we see the patience and precision Jimmy uses- really removes the frantic feeling.
I just want to say that I prefer the videos of you hand crafting the letters and parts for a project more then watching a CNC router do its thing. I know manual buy hand stuff takes longer but not everyone has the amount of talent you have Mr. Diresta and that's what makes you unique and that was the reason I followed you in the first place. I'm not even 18 and I can program a CNC to make letters and shapes. I know how to use Solidworks and CAD very well but I don't even come close to the amount of perfection you have with a bandsaw.
This is true dedication to a craft. I've been a long time fan, and I continue to become even more of one with every video. You are a huge inspiration and teacher to us Makers everywhere. Thank you.
its nice to see it being made on tools the majority of us have/can afford, rather than a cnc. its just more inspiring when its more achievable. love ya jimmy.
Amazing.... all hand cut! Much respect to your level of patients!
I like how you can pay attention to detail when you really want to. I grow more and more jealous of your work shop. Awesome job!
You are like a ninja with that bandsaw and jewelers saw. Your decades of experience really show in this piece. Excellent work!
Jimmy,
you never cease to amaze me on what YOU can do on a Band Saw! Incredible!
Your skill with a bandsaw never ceases to amaze me. Awesome job
your determination to finish something this labor intensive is a talent in itself. really nice results
I just talked about you on the Pod, about how you can make anything, any time, with any material. Once again, I was right. Thanks for making my point :-)
Excellent lesson in precision and patience. Awesome product Jimmy.
Your level of workmanship is incredible Jimmy.
diresta is so admirable , the dude is a hard working creative genius and a great cinematographer as well ! videos are mad crisp and detailed !
It's not easy to be the best !!!
Only hard work!!! You are a amazing master of handmade things!!!
Big respect from Vienna !!! Bravo
My back and my neck hurt just watching this thinking about being bent over the bandsaw and hand saw for all that cutting. Hats off to you Jimmy.
Jimmys skills at kerning by hand always blows us away!
LOL
It’s so therapeutic to just watch you work. I love it.
Beautiful craftsmanship Jimmy. I always enjoy watching your videos, and the sign making ones are no exception. You use a lot of different methods to produce very unique effects and finishes on your signs.
Jimmy D you're a bandsaw wizard... it's really humbling to see the product of so many years of practice and hard work
Kudos brotherman
Brilliant! This is the stuff we all love so much! Jimmy at his hand made bespoke best and not a computer machine stealing the jobs soul! Anybody can run a CNC but there is only one Diresta original. You don't need all that crap Jimmy, god gave you hands and the skills to use them that make all that stuff redundant. This is top notch creativeness and skills at their very best.
Thank you for showcasing your bandsaw skills instead of just using the CNC. Another great video!
An absolute master of the bandsaw! Another video and project that inspire me to become better at the projects I create for people. Thanks Jimmy!
Thats an incredible amount of work. The Finished piece is stunning.
the amount of patience you have is unbelievable! Great work!
Made it look like it was made by a machine instead of by hand... Jimmy your very talented and amazing!!!
Incredible work Jimmy. I was mesmerized through the whole video, all of a sudden it was over. Keep it up you're almost to a cool million.
A fantastic show of your excellent broad range talent demonstrated in doing this work.
Jimmy, that is art. Beautiful piece of work.
hey Jimmy I really love to see how much hard work you put in to your jobs . it really gives me the get up go feel thank you. Paul
Nice job Diresta. I was waiting for a video like this. Old time are always good times.
Beautifully done!!
Thanks for sharing your world with us...
Jimmy you always take a cool approach to interesting projects but you really out did yourself with this one. The precision and attention to detail are beyond impressive.
This is just the sort of mesmerising bandsaw job I needed at this late hour.
Awesome as usual Jimmy, good to see you going back to basics every now and then, been loving your video's for ages! KEEP up the good work!
Your work is always remarkable and inspiring to me!
Wow Jimmy! there is so much here, you really did an amazing job... First lesson: the conservation of materials when making the backing board from strips and then when laying out the templates on the brass. Second lesson: You have to put in the work, all that bandsaw and coping... I got tired just thinking about what that looks like without the magic of youtube speed. Third lesson: Experience brings skills, You being able to eyeball the kerning and tracking on those letters... along a radius no less! Ridiculous!
I don't know if you sometimes feel like we don't see all the thought and effort that goes into your work, and sometimes you can make it look so easy that that is understandable but we do see it!
Make no mistake, this was a master class here kids by a true artist!
Thanks Jimmy, Love you Brotha!
I simply love this hand crafted projects with no cnc and print machines!
Well that's just inspirational as hell... I need to get my new old bandsaw up and running. Beautiful work man!
Thanks Jimmy, I really appreciate your Craftsmanship.
Absolutely amazing!!! This is a insane amount of work, but it really paid off!! Stunning results!
Again...Absolutely beautiful Mr. D. Thank you for the video.
Wow!!!! Unreal... Cutting the tiny letters on the bandsaw AND by hand... Everything looks like it came off a CNC! You're literally a machine... And yet I have never heard you complain how much of a pain it was. 👊🏻 Man of the Year here folks... And it's only April!
bandsaw champion of the world :) that free hand glueing at the end was epic skil in itself
Amazing. I suck at type, but videos like this make me want to step out of my comfort zone and give it a go.
Jimmy, it's so fun watching you on the bandsaw. You are like an artist with a paintbrush.
thank you!!
As usual, a thing of beauty. Please Sir, I want some more!
another great project. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Very well done. Professionalism jumps off the screen.
Damn Jimmy you never cease to amaze me. Stay safe and creative brother.
watching you work is mesmerizing!!
Awesome Jimmy! That is probably my favorite sign you've made.
This man's band saw skills are absolutely amazing.
The time and the skill you put into your work...phuuu....impressive and inspirational. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and time.Always a pleasure to watch you make something :)
Jimmy, your a very great craftsman and artist! I really enjoy watching you create a variety of very exceptional works of art and completed projects. Beautiful God given talent that you have, keep up the excellent work!
Wow jimmy that was sweet to see the bandsaw at work !! You have talent that can't be measured you just keep going where no one else can go ,!! Beautiful ! Outstanding job!! Regards BobLee 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video! Insane amount of work, crazy skills!
That you for the slow down clip at 4:10 ish. It reenforces my speed is right. I know why things are sped up but for the seconds in each video it helps teach pace. I heard you discussing this with the guys in Making It glad you did it it.
Awesome work and a very nice looking sign!
Excellent band saw work! Nice sign.
This has been spectacular, Jimmy, thanks for the vid and keep up the good work
Bandsaw artistry at its finest. Nice job on the manual kerning there. :)
Very Nice! I like the fact you did it all by hand.
Good work as usual, beautiful sign!
Thanks for doing the Patreon version.
The voice overs, as usual, were great.
Great job, amazing result.
Superb! I know that you are gravitating towards CNC and 3D printing, but this kind of artistic work will always impress me a million times more than any tech driven art form. In this, you are master!
Incredible work Jimmy.
serious bandsaw skillz jimmy, awesome finished product!
That sign is gorgeous. I think I learned about 3 new techniques from the vid!
I am just stunned over your bandsaw skills. You get in so tight and so precise... I believe I would be missing a thumb if I tried that. You sir, are a master craftsman and I love your videos. Looking forward to the next one.
What a beautiful piece, the bandsaw work must of taken an age! Great work jimmy
So impressive. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Very good work! Amazing! Bravo Jimmy!!!!
Love how this turned out Jimmy! I can just picture you deciding to do this project without CNC just to show everyone the tools don't define you. I find this video inspiring because of the wow factor of the final result but the steps were straight forward (even if they were tedious for you I'm sure!)
Yes! I could watch you doing your bandsaw magic all day. Man, I need to buy a bandsaw and get some practice
Wow, what an awesome job! It must have taken for ever.
Your creativity are a great inspirations for all of us viewers, please keep up the good work Jimmy :) and thumbs up for some well edited videos...
I like how I'm listening through Making It, then a completely separate idea for a work thing pops into my head so I pause the podcast and google "can I cut brass with a bandsaw", and the third result is naturally Jimmy
Amazing work Jimmy! Sad to see the NY City shop go. It looks so empty! That shop will be missed by all of us!
Amazing jimmy! Keep the great videos coming
Nice job Jimmy .... Good luck with your workshop relocation!!
The brass looks really rad on the black wood, thumbs up!
Brass tax! I'm pretty sure this just became my new favourite video! Well done!
That's absolutely gorgeous!
Raddest thing I've seen all week.
glad to see you got more distillery work
OMG!! That is freaking beautiful! :-) I specially like the way you put those slots on that circle thing before painting it black to give it the texture! I also can see there's a lot of detailed work and time into that! Nice job!!! :-)
Jimmy Diresta for President!
He can do anything! We need a man like him to fix America!
This video convinced me to buy a bandsaw. Awesome sign!
