I just mentioned this to my wife yesterday while walking around the lake in our neighborhood. We saw a sign that said “Don’t drink the water”. Do we really need a sign that warns people not to drink the water in the lake???

Labels and signs are a way for companies and estates to cover possibilities for legal reasons, and not because people are stupid. Accidents happen even under the best of conditions, and liability can be assigned if the bases aren't met - which means implementing signs that state the obvious. It would be wise to take a good look in the mirror before you run around calling other people idiots.

Dodgeball could have broken my nose if I didn't know how to duck in time for it to hit my forehead. Even psychologists like Jordan Peterson are studying the effects of people being raised in environments too sheltered and safe from almost all danger.

Intersections: go to Germany and live their 11th Commandment. Thou shalt wait for the 'green man' before crossing, or you will get some messed stares, horns honking, and, occasionally, a derogatory comment questioning your intelligence and your parent's marital status at the time of your birth...
