Nietche actually was counterculture, not anti religious, he did criticize religion but he also criticized other things pretty equally, and Nietche’s works weren’t nihilistic until the third reich misused Nietche’s teachings and made them seem nihilistic. Great reaction though, you took the time for the lines.
Wasn't it Nietches sister who was the main reason why his teaching's got misused if I remember correctly Nietche himself would have absolutely hated the Nazis
Wu is also the name of the kingdom Sun Tzu fought for. Also, most people don’t realize how short The Art of War is. It’s not the massive tome people envision. Plus it was written as a poem
Yea it's intentionally short, as it's written for rulers who are too dumb for warfare, easier to remember the content that way. It's definitely an interesting read.
It is incredibly refreshing to find, for once, someone doing one of these reactions while also having some clues of the persons/arguments/history inside... I will make sure to see all your related videos :)
This battle reminds of a comment I saw once that said something like "put 200 people in a room for a week, and by the end of it, you'll have 500 opinions"
I always liked the Tao of Pooh reference, I forget who wrote that book but it's sort of an explanation of Taoism using the characters of Winnie the Pooh. I remember a friend of mine reading it in school, I never got around to it though.
Typical Nihilism is defined as the belief that life has no intrinsic meaning, or value. However there are multiple forms of nihilism. What you described is religious nihilism. Or in other words, atheism.
As an atheist, I agree. Meaning is something people decide for themselves and their own lives, creating their own meanings. Even those who have decided their meaning of life is decided by some outside source like a god, they are still the ones driving however they live. (Pretty much always deciding their god shares the morals and lack of morals they have, disliking things they dislike, liking things they like, no matter what their holy books actually say.)
I'd hate to agree with Voltaire, but the "submissive" cultures of China disappeared under the current communist regime. Flubbed the mission indeed, what do you do when going with the flow leads you straight off a waterfall.
They should have said, "I'm coming DOWN from the Acropolis". Because, according to Plato, Socrates, as a philosopher, lives within the Realm of the Sun, the Realm of Knowledge. His duty as a philosopher is to come "Down" from the Realm of the Sun, beyond the divided line, and educate the demos (people). This is also symbiotic, as it keeps the philosopher from indulging his ego as well. This would also reference the first line from The Republic by Plato, which is in the perspective of Socrates, "I walked down to the Piraeus yesterday with Glaucon." There you can see his saying he is walking "Down" to Piraeus, which the demos reside. Piraeus was one of the primary ports of commerce for Athens. It is in The Republic, but much later on, where Plato, in the perspective of Socrates, writes about the Realm of Forms. That would have been a start that went astronomically deep.
Confucius have some deals with animals like he never shot a bird at rest. It was like disrespectful. He was calling out his two teammates that they were being respectful like a bunch of clucking chickens.
Enlightenment was the philosophical movement so to speak that Voltaire was a big part of a lot of American views can from woks of Voltaire and other Enlightenment philosophers.
Voltaire bought all the lottery tickets so he couldn't lose it was less money to but them all than the reward was I think it was 5 million as the reward like 1 million to get all the tickets which unlike now only had numbers once no one had the any of the same numbers also Frank may be Voltaire's actual name I cannot remember at the moment.
You got quite a lot wrong in this one....... your explanation of Nihilism was way off, and Nietche wasn't even a nihilist. Sometimes it is better to just say you don't know.

The 'beating your submissive asses' line was also because Voltaire was from a time when the French aristocracy was exploring libertine excess.
