    I saw several podiatrists and physical therapists over about 25 years. They kept saying plantar fasciitis. Spent a lot on them and the orthotics. When the last doc wanted to operate I asked a chiropractor if she could do anything. She looked at my feet closely. Said your ankle is out of place and set it back in place. I was finally pain free. It did take a few months because it would work itself back but the pain wasn't bad like before and eventually it stayed in place. Now I can wear sandals and go barefoot some daily.

      That's amazing! Before you had the ankle realigned did you easily twist your ankle when you walk? Just wondering because I do. I never considered that the ankle could be out of alignment. But my wrists were, so maybe the ankles were, too.

      @@evelyndaisy9722 it may not help but I just like to share because I would hate to think if I had the surgery. I mean a chiropractor visit is cheaper than surgery. Good luck.

      @@anyascelticcreations I don't think I realized it was different. I had just recently been seeing a chiropractor for a neck injury. I thought it interesting that the chiropractor could tell what was up when 3 Doctors an 2 PTs hadn't seen anything. I went thru 3 courses of PT before the doc wanted me to have surgery. I just share because I hope it may help.

      @@joycej9415 I understand. I've also had things overlooked. I saw chiropractors, and many other drs, for 18 years before one chiropractor knew immediately that I have scoliosis. They took x-rays which confirmed. Crazy that no one else in 18 years ralized it. That was about 13 years ago. Now I've started seeing drs again and they took new x-rays. My new dr said that based on the radiologist report it's shocking that no one but that one chiropractor saw that something is really wrong. Crazy how something very obvious can so easily be missed.

    We got your back, Bob....you, along with Brad, are still the most famous (and favorite) physical therapists on the internet....in our opinion, of course.
    Bunions can be caused by a lower back problem.

    • @dianejones4276
      @dianejones4276 2 роки тому +1

      How does lower back issues cause bunions?

    • @mimiescape2023
      @mimiescape2023 2 роки тому +6

      @@dianejones4276 a bad S1 nerve in the back leads to weakness in the outer foot muscles which causes the foot to pronate. This causes the main big toe tendon to become misaligned and the pull of this tendons on the big toe bones causes them to collapse inwards. This funky alignment ultimately causes a bone spur to form, which we call a “bunion”.

    • @anyascelticcreations
      @anyascelticcreations 2 роки тому

      @@mimiescape2023 That's a really awesome explanation. 👍 And it makes a lot of sense in my case considering I have Scoliosis and don't wear high heels. Maybe that's why I have a bunion on one foot.

Nothing my podiatrist has tried has worked (new shoes, shoe inserts, heel lifts, laser treatments, and time in a boot) and he doesn’t seem to feel surgery is an option. For a year I kept getting the same diagnosis of planter fasciitis
    on my right heel pain. It hurt to put weight on it and I started to walk funny trying not to put weight on it. I did the support shoes, the inserts ect.... Then final a pain specialist asked if my previous doctor ever did an epidural on the L5 vertebrae? The L5 nerve runs all the way to the bottom of your right foot about the same spot the pain is for planter fasciitis told him no... we immediately scheduled the day procedure. After that surgery, I stood up and absolutely 100% no pain! Instant relief from having pain for a year. Also
    Doing reflexology on the bottom of your feet will sometimes diagnose whare problems are in your body.

    I have pain in my foot making it hard to walk, under my big toe area. I'm not very old but I was homeless at one point. Which is hard on the body. But, I just started getting it. I am a single mom so I have to hope this goes away.

    Do you guys have information about Neuroma of the foot, or Morton's Neuroma? I recently had one removed, what a horrible ordeal !! I had never heard of such a thing.

    Good video, but what about neuromas???? So many people have this from wrong foot wear, thinning of fat pat as on ages, etc.

    Good video, but one suggestion: keep the camera little farhter away so we can see the part of the foot, the main topic here is FOOT PAIN and whatever you kept talking most of the time we could see the exact location of the foot problem you were discussing. I too have cramps in the paw area of the foot when I am at the grocery store where it is a lot f walking isle to isle so end of my shopping is about to complete i get cramps in the toe base. Also recently I am having pain on the upper side of the foot arch almost on the center of the paw. I don't know if my new walking shoes are causing this because I felt such a pain after I started using the new shoes. The brand that I tried this time is "GO WALK" walking shoes. I would appreciate your response that would suggest some solution/remedy.

    Awww oh my!
    Never know about ataxia though initially without this part of statement I thought is Mr. Bob unfortunately caught a really bad stroke which might be due to post COVID-19 or so?
    Anyway hopefully is reversible so Mr. Bob would feel more confident and pleasure to articulate his thoughts again. And to your comfort that I always hearing very old people talking slurring so it's totally fine, this awkward situation didn't hinder us from getting what Mr. Bob trying to articulate =)
    Get well soon

    Bob, I'm so sorry for your ataxia and other problems. I hope you can figure out a solution and get back to baseline.
    There's another cause of foot pain that is rarely diagnosed but quite prevalent - cat scratch disease (bartonellosis). This difficult to diagnose and difficult to treat, often asymptomatic infection is caused by the bacterium bartonella henselae. Its most distinctive symptom is tenderness on the bottom of the feet when first arising, which recedes after a few minutes of walking around. Other less specific symptoms can include arthritis, cognitive issues, mental illness, fatigue, ocular migraines/double vision, a rash that looks something like cat scratches, and many of others.

    Hey guys I have pain on the top of my foot on the side near my arch. I've since switched shoes to give me more support but if I walk a lot at work the pain returns. Any idea what that is or how I could stretch it out so it doesn't hurt as bad???

    In the 1970’s there was a shoe fad called”Earth Shoes”. They had a negative cant and were wide at the toes. Looked a little funny but were the most comfortable shoes I ever owned. Unfortunately they fell out of style

      You can buy shoes called earth runners. They are very minimal like walking barefoot almost. You can look their website up or on you tube.

    The neuropathy in my feet is caused when I wear polyester. My jogging bottoms I wore last winter with painful neuropathy every morning after getting up or at night after taking clothes off. Only discovered it was the polyester joggers because the weather improved and I stopped wearing them (5 pairs). Glad discovered it but its very weird why. Anyone know? Roll on a year. Recently using a knee support on left knee and guess what, made of polyester and in the morning foot pain like neuropathy only in the left foot. So definitely polyester.

    I am so glad I am watching your videos, when you talked in one of your videos about massaging the foot and stretching the toes….it really helps! I was suffering a lot of foot pain and some swelling and my foot was killing me, then I followed what you said and my gosh it worked! My foot stopped hurting and I could walk on it the very next day…I was so amazed. I do like the idea of using a massager thing like you were just showing. Thank you so much!

    I was kinda hoping that you would’ve touch base on this one cramping on top of your foot? It’s only happened a few times and lasted a few days, where when you walk it feels like something on top of your foot is stuck or cramping.

    Thanks Bob and Brad! I watch you both all the time and tell my friends and even my doctor about your show. I was wondering if you know why my feet hurt after sitting down? As soon as I get up they hurt, more in my ankles. They feel stiff and I walk like a penguin at first. Likewise during the day if I sit for even a couple minutes they become stiff and it hurts to walk until I get them moving again. I don't wear high heels anymore, but I do take alot of steps a day. I jokingly say its rigor mortis kicking in. Any idea's?
