I’ve been wearing five finger shoes for over 10 years plus I go barefoot a lot. Before this my toes were all bunched together from too small and crowded shoes. Now I have clear space between all my toes and no foot pain. I’m 76 so don’t let age stop you. Spread those toes.

      1. How do you treat feet that have had multiple attacks of gout over the years?
      2. What kind of shoe is best for foot health.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis about 20 years ago, I'm now a wheelchair user and haven't really felt my feet in years, they are numb, inflexible and prone to cramp, I knew dietary concerns weren't the only issue so I continued to look for alternatives and then your WonderFull video pops up in my feed.
What I can say is even just 24 hours of doing these practices is showing results. I can feel my feet, stretch them and flex them and when I do walk I feel the connection and the flexibility of my feet, I've been a barefoot advocate since birth so really enjoying feeling my feet and a new stability.
Thank you both so much, I've signed up to your Awesome channel ❤️‍🔥

Wonderful, but *What* practices? I watched the whole video, nearly an hour, and although it was very interesting, I was really disappointed that there was never any instruction on what to do or how to do it.
So frustrating. I didn't have an hour to waste today. I still have no idea what I could actually be doing.

This is so FABULOUS!!! I've done the breathing, and while listening, I did between my toes. IT HURT but I breathed and persevered!
Now, I've had a serious right knee/hip/femur grating in hip joint, leg felt 'off', crooked, for the last few years.
I definitely am now standing and moving with .... so much more ease.
I'm barefoot always unless I go out, then it's with flat soft footwear. Even when I walk home from town with some shopping, I often take my shoes off and walk barefoot on the beautiful soft green grass. So lovely.

I’m a 99 year old dedicated walker and have been teaching about how critical spine alignment is. When it comes to feet alignment, it is just as important as it effects our pelvic alignment, critical to the health of many of our organs. “ alignment” ( posture) is the magical word that keeps our body functioning as it was designed to, from our feet to our cervical spine.

As a massage therapist, I deal with a lot of low back pain in my clients. I go to the feet first and as a general rule, people have inverted feet. They don't realize what that does to the hip rotators. So if you're having low back pain, ask your massage therapist to look at your feet, then check your hip rotators.

Amazing podcast...I actually felt excited whilst listening because everything makes such sense. 6 months ago i couldn't sit cross legged but I was doing various stretches and exercises to help. I started doing foot exercises and now i can sit cross legged and my knees touch the floor.....I was just starting to think that it must be the foot exercises which seemed to make the difference and now i know for sure this is the case. While watching i started working between my toes and I'll continue to focus on my feet. I go barefoot around the house most of the time and in summer walk barefoot on grass but I'm going to invest in some barefoot shoes now so that i can be 'barefoot' all year round. When we as kids sprained our ankle somewhere during the day, nothing was done until going to bed. My mother used a method she learned from her mother and put on a big piece of cotton wadding drenched in water. Over that she put a piece of plastic to avoid leaking (as much as possible) and drying out, and over that came a thick kind of bandage held together with a safety pin. She called it a water bandage. It worked miracles. While we were sleeping the bandage got up to body temperature and most of the time the ankle was healed or practically healed the next morning. The skin was all creased cause of the water and the cloth but that went away after half an hour and we were running around again.
I'm always amazed no one seems to know about this. If I tell people they don't even consider doing this. No, they rather go to hospital and get a stiff bandage or worse, a cask.

He was told he would be wheelchair bond the rest of his life he was 35 @ the time.i began working his feet every other day for the 1st 2 months in the 3rd month I went to 3days a week.towards the end of the 3rd month he called me at 2:36a.m. so happy he said he had tears of joy he had to get up in the middle of the night to pee o I got there I would wrap each foot in a heated towel & start off with a 5min meditation to try &get him to a nice relaxing state.then I would begin. At 1st he didn't know what to think becuz of course he was sore from the pressure points & release of blocked up qi. Sore in the shoulders, sore in the lower back but he realized that after that next days soreness he felt better(gooder)😅. So anybody on the fence about the care of your feet & health of your over-all body.go to your local reflexologist & get your feet happy and the rest will follow.😊💜

@@Stlouisbartending do you want to go in deeply and stretch little movements to the right and left up and down. There’s no need to press so hard and quick that you can’t stand it. It’s best to be in a place where it’s sore but not hurt. You can use a little oil, but not so much that you can’t press in. You can just stay there and gently sink into but it’s best to go all around the area. You’re working on one level of depth and then do it again but deeper. Maybe the next day, even. What you’re doing is you’re stretching the fascia. You’re freeing things that are stuck together.
Too bad we can’t get together in the world. UA-cam doesn’t make that happen.
Did I say you can hold it in sinking slowly I could tell you to look at your finger, your working finger, from the inside of your body. That helps you see things from the inside of your body. You can slowly grow that ability. All the best .

Well... doing this to the toes with your fingers is what they meant.
Yes. It IS painful. And sometimes you can only get the first finger knuckle in. But with a bit of massaging and time (it took me 3 days) you'll be able to thread your fingers completely through. (This is awesome for bunions) it straightens out your toes. And you can bend your feet backwards forwards. Twisting side to side... releasing lots of tension in the feet.
      Your feet will feel heavenly....

I have Scoliosis and now L4L5 stenosis. My toes have not been movable in yrs.
It's been frustrating as inside I knew what needed attention.
I have the "Five Toe Vibram" shoes
( I love them but not all models are equal. I have some original styles and 1 newer one. I try and then return or exchange the reviews are fairly accurate)
I wear them as much as possible I have never worn pointy shoes. All my shoes are zero drop. That has been a saving grace. Round toes since I was 16. I have only worn high clogs back in the day but never high heels.
Thank you so much for speaking up about the feet.

And I'ma super-pronator. My feet roll in to the center. I wear anti-pronation shoes, with custom made arch supports. I love that you tell your feet you love them. I'm going to do this.

An old-fashioned remedy for ear infections in babies or small children, was to put 100% cotton socks, wet with cool water, (but not dripping wet ), on their feet… then quickly put dry 100% wool socks over the cotton ones, and put them to bed…
    This is how it works.
The cold, wet, cotton socks stimulate circulation to flood from from the head down into the feet, and the wool socks, keep the feet warm all night, and so with all of the circulation going down into the feet, the head and neck drain and the ear infection heals…
I know it sounds far-fetched, but I raised five kids doing this for them, and it worked every single time I did it! And quickly! so for the people out there who like doing things more naturally, I highly recommend trying this. And I’ve never tried it on adults, but I don’t see why it would’nt work just as well.

Interesting about the feet as I had a car accident about 4-5 years ago and while in Tahiti a healer I met had me lay down on my stomach and asked the interpreter if I had had a bad accident!
He looked at my top left foot and commented my veins were facing to the right- he said my heart was being blocked- I’d started doing heart exercises/ massages because I couldn’t breathe!
After he worked on my foot I could BREATHE!
He also asked if I had a baby- yes - I had 30 years ago!
My babies stem cells were also blocked from assisting me stay well 😳😳😳!
The baby stem cells have an effect and some stay in the mother after birth. Because the birth was traumatic my body had held the shock from that AND my accident!
I’m going to do that pressure between the toes to ensure that my energy blocks if any are cleared- thank you!🙏💖

LOL I did 10 bodyweight squats every 20 minutes throughout the day and in five days my pants were falling off me.....and guaranteed lost more bodyfat than all that walking you did.....not to mention I never sweat, get worn out, harm my joints, no worries about rain......actually I do them on my hours off from work, on the weekends or every time a commercial comes on the TV! And you spent 4 to 5 hours of walking EACH day which is totally unnecessary.....anyone who knows anything about weight lifting and working out knows that LEG DAYS are the worst.....but they affect the whole body.....in GOOD ways.....many have suggested that if you only worked one body part it should be the legs.....nothing gets that Heart working more or better than a leg workout....how funny people are now thinking that walking 20,000 steps per day is a good thing because they know deep down inside that walking a mile or two per day does absolutely nothing for getting your body in shape and LOSING FAT.....so now the FAD is spending 3 or 4 hours of your day walking....LMAO

Okay, I am all in!!! I am so grateful for my feet but my feet have also been my nemesis for most of my life. I was in ballet, gymnastics and then bartended for 20+ years. I've had bunions on both feet and painful for the past 25+ years.
My ankle kept giving way on me and had many sprains, which led me to having ankle ligament repair surgery, where the surgeon also performed an osteotomy on the same foot at the same time. Not good. Surgeon left the country for 5 weeks and was given poor aftercare. Needless to say, after 4 different casts and foot orthotics, my foot still wasn't healing correctly. I had PT for 7 months and went to a Brain & Body facility for 8 months after that ended. I am going to find your videos and exercises and follow you everywhere! Thank you for all of this pertinent information that makes so much sense to me. I continue to address my all over fascia in numerous ways and have since shortly after my surgery. Are there any Community organizations nearby that have volunteers for walking with you? An auxillary women's group, like Red Hat Society or church? Perhaps a young women's group or school project? Look online for them, or local news or pamphlets in the mail may advertise them. We found a helper for my Mom when she got Alzheimers, so we could go food shopoing & take my Dad to the barber or doctor while she walked and had lunch with Mom.
Ask if they can they spend an hour walking with you 3 times a week? It's great & so good for your health that you will be doing inside exercise. I'm just thinking
it would be so much better if you could get outside, mentally, physically & emotionally... Maybe visit a local park & engage with someone walking by with a pet or sitting on a bench.
I think you can accomplish a lot, even sitting in a chair, rotating & flexing your feet, raising, stretching and lowering your legs, until you can bicycle both legs. Use your walker or maybe a table or wall for support, raise up on your toes, maybe do one at a time until you build strength & balance. Then tip up on your heels & lower several times.
Watch Motivation Doc & other doctors for seated exercises, may even be streamed on your tv! Look up Tai Chi on UA-cam or tv as easy exercises for balance, mobility and strength. Lifting water bottles or canned foods helps your upper body as well as circulation.💪🏻
Wishing you all the best in Life! Namaste 🙏🏻 🤲🏻 🕊

Are you still running? Perhaps look for good supportive Walking shoes next time, as runners and walkers have different needs for heel strike, pronation and support... Unless you walk fast and enjoy the extra push off from the running shoes, but then your feet aren't getting the extra bit of exercise to push off?
Glad to see you're still active as it sure doesn't get easier as we advance in years! I find I have to consciously motivate and push myself to go out & be active in my 60s...

Well, think of that. I'm 70 years old and have been dying for 24 years now. 1999 I was first diagnosed with ideopathic peripheral polyneuropathy. Since it's cause is unknown, there's nothing to "cure". The best you can hope for iis a measure of pain control. My best pain reduction routine - get a dog and walk the dog. I've been through 3 up to now and my present on is 12 years old. Maybe my impending death is killing my dogs off?

Do you eat grain and grain derived foods like vinegars? Try eliminating them completely. Grain, for me, causes massive inflammation and is crippling, to explain simply.

    • @ofhismercy109
      @ofhismercy109 5 місяців тому

@margueritebeson8498 I look for products that use "other" vinegars, like wine vinegars, apple cider vinegar, and balsamic are all grain free. I'm still learning. Tapioca Boba balls that I ate yesterday inflamed my body overnight, I track my weight each morning as inflammation causes water retention overnight and shows up on the scale. I'd heard that some root substitutes for grains (like tapioca) can mimic problematic proteins in grains, and 7lb overnight gain confirms that for me. Really, keeping a very simple food record and weight record is key for me, helping me find foods that cause inflammation. I got that from reading The Plan by Lynn Genet Recides. It's been a game changer. When I went from gluten free to zero grain diet I lost around 18lbs in just a very short few days, all water retention.

I have had foot problems for the past 15 years, along with lower back etc etc, I now
have regular osteo therapy for back and chiropractic therapy for feet, it has helped enormously but every day is a challenge. I wish I could do the recommended spacing of fingers between toes but this is impossible being over 6 feet tall with of course the back problems! I have tried toe spacers but still incredibly difficult to put on without causing harm to back. Ultimately for anyone over 5, 10’’ tall trying to fit in a world where everything is built for a standard ‘average’ person we are going to suffer the consequences. Furniture, kitchens, car seats etc never fit and so we are at a disadvantage. Why don’t more designers make more adjustable options? The human race is generally getting taller so need to get on board.

Hi there! You could have a loved one do the toe work for you. Another way to do it would be to purchase a thin wooden doweling, about 4 feet in length. You can sit on your couch and hold the doweling vertically in front of you and place it between your toes and then press into the doweling.

Just happened upon this video. So glad I did. Thank you for sharing. I wear Vibram toe shoes when doing squats and deadlifting and I love the sense of balance I have as I’m able to sense the pressure I’m exerting into the floor as I lift. I wear them around the house as well. They are great. I do get some funny looks from people at the gym but it’s okay as I’m not to concerned about fashion when working out😂.

As usual interesting to listen to you! And the feet are so incredible and important. I walk barefoot as much as the weather here allows it and always use barefeet shoes.
I just have a concern about getting the knees down to the floor when sitting crossed legged. What I have learned from yinyoga teachers Paul Grilley and Bernie Clark is that the hip bone is placed differently in different people, and I have seen photos of this, so you can be like internally or externally rotated in the hip joint which makes it easy for some to get their knees down to the floor and for others very hard, even impossible, if they don't raise their bum up a bit on a cushion. What do you say about that?

    • @Fluidisometrics
      @Fluidisometrics  Місяць тому +1

HI there! The hips definitely play a part in how people do things like, get down to, or up from the ground (as you mentioned) or perform something like a squat. In our practice we teach that you do whatever works for you so that you don't hurt yourself. Even if that includes having props around you to help you in and out of positions.

Hi there! In case you need, here is a quick lessen on what to do to your toes!
Using your fingers, or the handle of a wooden spoon, place fingers or wooden handle between your toes and apply pressure into the webbing. Put enough pressure so you start to feel the pain, but not so much that you can't breathe
comfortably. Hold for 3 minutes. Do this between all toes.

I did finger pressure between toes for the first time last night and this AM and I am amazed how much better my feet feel. I look forward to starting with breath work today. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

Can we prevent arthritis forming in our feet & ankles ??? Can we DO SOMETHING TO PREVENT ARTHRITIS INFLAMMATION IN OUR FEET & ANKLES & CALVES ???? MASSAGE METHODS ????

    • @Fluidisometrics
      @Fluidisometrics  6 місяців тому

Blocking helps arthritis by releasing the adhesions that are holding the joints out of alignment. Improving flow helps to rejuvenate the damaged cells and the foundation building pulls the body back to alignment to prevent further wearing.
Blocking before we get to the point where we are diagnosed with arthritis may help prevent it from forming in the first place.
