    Thank your another lovely video. Also, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the quotes at the end of your videos. I can tell that you have put great thought and consideration into selecting each them. They help to centre me from the daily distractions. They are a lovely gift that you give us viewers. Thank you.

    I’ll be trying your gnocchi recipe. Friday I’m experimenting with making pumpkin and sweet potato gnocchi because I have over 70 lbs of pumpkin to process. I’m thinking it might be good with smoked sausage and some kale from the garden. Have you ever made pumpkin gnocchi? Btw, your husband being your hype man to get the kids excited about dinner before ice cream was just adorable 🫶

    Another big thank you for new ideas on meal planning. All three dishes look delicious! I plan to incorporate them as trial meals for the childcare rotation menu plans. As always, I appreciate your writing out the actual recipes. You are such a blessing....glad to have found you here in UA-cam. Blessings to you and your family.

    Good morning friend! For several days we’ve been having some wet and dreary weather. These recipes all look so warm and cozy! I have left overs for tonight but taking chicken out of the freezer is already on my ‘to do’ list so I think you just helped me figure out what I’ll do with it tomorrow!
    Have a wonderful day Kelsey! God Bless You! 🤗

      I've never done the 3 rivers challenge but azure has been out of dome staples for a few deliveries now so ... outside that and dairy, I think I am going to try it this year because after a few years of building a pantry, and with how ive been meal planning lately and how my grocery lists have changed over the past year, I'm feeling somewhat confident I can do it. Dairy is really the only thing I always need on a weekly basis (mainly milk).

      @cherylpresleigh6403 11 місяців тому +1

      @@ashleyashcraft1754 I did a heavily modified version of the pantry challenge last year but like you, I’ve been working on building the pantry so I’m feeling like we’re in a better place to do a challenge like that. The great thing is we can set it up to work best for our personal situations. I think I’ll allow a small budget for dairy and fresh produce a couple times a month. Good luck with the challenge Ashley!

    I love to make a large batch of teriyaki sauce and store it in the freezer. Because of the corn starch slurry (I assume the arrowroot would give the same affect) it doesnt freeze solid so I can scoop out what I need to a meal. It makes things very convenient and prevents me from having to make it every time.

    The only way I like canned carrots is making them sweet with orange juice and brown sugar but they’re still not my favorite either. I get organic peas and corn from Costco and can those. They make the best canned veggies and my family won’t go back to tinned cans. Thanks for all the ideas in your videos.

    Hi Kelsey. Are you doing the three rivers pantry challenge this year? I haven’t been to the grocery since the end of October and it’s been interesting. I am trying to see if I can make it until March break. I didn’t specifically shop for this. It’s all the stuff I preserved this year.

    Why does your family not like the canned carrots? Glad to see you include things like ramen noodles and rotis. chicken in your recipes, to show us all that sometimes, having items like that incorporated into mealtimes, is necessity! Even homesteaders, need to change it up once in a while, with quick and easy ingredients!

    • @seedandsparrowhomestead
      @seedandsparrowhomestead  11 місяців тому

      Absolutely! Stressing about only using the best ingredients all the time in my opinion is just as bad if not worse than the not so ideal ingredients! I do my best, and sometimes shortcuts are necessary!

    • @seedandsparrowhomestead
      @seedandsparrowhomestead  11 місяців тому +1

      We think the pressure canned carrots take on a funky flavor! Just not appealing at all. OK but not great when used with other ingredients but not something we want to eat on its own. Much prefer frozen to canned.
