- Ever since Narendra Modi's BJP swept to power in 2014, India's Muslims have had a turbulent time, often targeted in attacks or hate speech. As the 2024 Lok Sabha election results draw near, we spoke to some Muslims to get their perspectives on what has changed.

They do. There are many documentaries on the experiences of black Americans and of Muslim refugees and immigrants in European countries.
They have this thing called Free Speech which Indians don't. How many social documentaries has your government stopped through threats of arrest meanwhile anti-muslim documentaries are released every Friday.

A Shia-Sunni Divide might be a joke for you, but geopolitical wars are fought over it. If you don't want others to call your perspective a joke, don't call theirs a joke either. For them the divide was big enough to create a separate country while Irish Nationalists continued terrorist acts in UK as recently as the 90s, the period known as "troubles".
You vote for people who argued for that partition. Right wing Hindus and Muslims both argued for India to be carved up.
As for documentaries, there are many and all historical and released without censorship. England was left in a state of religious conflict when it split from the Catholic Church with its own people divided amongst themselves. It went to war with Spain for their freedom to follow their religion.
The UK is an old Kingdom with its history going back more than a thousand years. It has seen its share of religious conflict in much less enlightened times.
India is a young country living in a time when humanity knows right from wrong but people like you, who are opposed to free speech and freedom of religion, are a blight and a mark of shame upon an ancient civilization.
