So so so many people skip the cleaning part. They just throw it in the disinfectant and think that’s good enough. Thanks for teaching the proper way ❤️
Very informative! Thank you! Although you mention no need to disinfect if planning on sterilizing, is there any benefit if we do and do all 3 steps or is it pointless and just go straight to sterilizing after cleaning?
Hey! Is it better to sterilize nail tools with UV light or high temperature machine or just leave them marinate in special liquid and wash it with water? Thank you! 🩷🩷🩷
Hi Erica...Once I soak my tools in lucaside, if I pass the minute will it damage my tools?? And once I soak my tools in the lucaside I have to discgarge it after each use?
hi there! that's completely okay if it passes the next 3 minutes. but recommended is to stick to the labels recorded time. Try to avoid long periods of soaking to delay rusting.
so wait, is lucascide an epa approved disinfectant for salons?? I was taught to use barbicide, but I’ve been wanting to switch, and can’t find much information online about the two.
This video is so helpful! I purchased your cleaning kit for bits. Since math is not my forte I am not sure how much Lucas - Cide to use if I only want to fill the small jar the kit comes with. Lucas - Cide suggests using up the premixed concentrate with in three days but I don't need to mix a whole gallon. I estimate abut a quarter of a teaspoon per jar of water. Probably less. If you can help me figure it out it would be so helpful. :)
Hi there! The mix ratio is 0.5 oz of concentrate to 1 gallon of water - The cleaning jar holds 2 oz so it comes to 0.0078 oz of concentrate, so a very small amount!
I see so many people on social media say that they only clean their tools with isopropyl alcohol or 100% acetone and don’t use a disinfectant. It drives me nuts because they are spreading false information.
The warm water helps remove any debris and dirt, but the tools must be completely dry before storing. If you went in for a dry mani or pedi, there's a chance the salon didn't allow enough time for the tools to dry or didn't clean them properly.
I see so many nail salons amd home salons in New Zealand reusing one-time use disposable tools on multiple clients, like nail files and buffers, and what about the polish omg!!! Id hate to know that a salon or person used a polish on my finger nails that they used on someones feet 🤯🤮its disturbing ...i feel like i wana tell them "ew dont use that on me can you get a new one or a clean and sanitized metal one" or "have you used that polish on other clients or on their feet! Cause that should be illegal 😂

You don't have to disinfect if you're going to sterilize because sterilization will remove all harmful microorganisms in the process 🙌

The most effective disinfection process is using an autoclave machine (high temp and pressure) 👍
Thank you! 🩷
I loved the video! So helpful information Érica!!!

Ooof that's tough to hear. The disinfection step is required in all states- hopefully professionals will learn the correct way!
If I'm using Lucas Cide RTU to soak bits for disinfecting how can I properly dispose of the Lucas Cide RTU afterwards?
It's safe to dispose in the sink 👌
@@EricasNails awesome! thank you so much!!
So if I use power bits at home, what do I use?
we recommend Lucas-Cide! Here's a link w/ a promo code: ericasata.com/pages/disinfectant

Can i use acetone for disinfect my drill bits and cutter? In my country they don't sale barbicide or do online delivery of these products
Acetone does not disinfect or kill microbes. What country do you live in?
I have the same situation, there is no way to find the products.I live in Cuba. Any sugestions? 🙏
Are they water safe? If so, maybe boil or steam them? @@gloriagonzalez8361
Alcohol 90%
great video love your energy :)
Good, like an always.
Doesn't warm water make any fungus grow? I got a bad infection from the nail salon. My doctor said to avoid warm water to use cold.

❤Thank you for sharing sharing
You are SO welcome!
Great video and information💕💕
Hey, thank you!
I bought an ultrasonic cleaner but it leaves weird rust looking spots on my tools so I quit using it. Do you know what is causing that?
So the spray is just for surfaces not tools? And then the gallon is for tools?
Lucas-cide can be used for both! You can use the gallon to refill your spray bottle or pour into your disinfection container.
