Well in terms of scissors, by law in CA they have go in there, but barcicide can ruin japanese steel, so its better to spray with clippercide or cool care
How often should you change the barbicide solution if you're cleaning your own personal Combs that only you are using? Could you leave the combs in the barbicide until you get ready to use them or should you take them out after a certain time? Is it safe to use a stronger concentration of barbicide to water ratio?
Once it gets cloudy or foamy then change it. I feel like changing it daily is a scheme of Barbacide company to have the buyer run out quicker so you can buy another one. And they make more money that way.
Thank u for all the reminders. Great info. BUT OMG did the water running for no reason bother me!!! 4 minutes in and I’m furious with the running water. lol do I have issues???
shooz4unme no you cannot dip the clipper blades in this. This is specifically for guards and combs. There is another product called blade wash that can be used to clean your clipper blades.
Unfortunately no you can't. It takes time to clean. Thats the ratio to use. If you try and use more concentration it will just rot whatever tools are in there.
Yes, you should. What I do though is have multiples of everything (guards, combs, brushes, etc.). After each client I put all my soiled tools in its own box and pull out new ones for each new client . Then, I clean and disinfect all my soiled tools at the end of the day. Hope that helps.
That’s what I was wondering also. If you’re in a busy shop or something how are we gonna disinfect our stuff in between clients. There’s no possible way.
@@playboyjohnathan2978 yes you should. That’s why y’all be giving people ingrowns and pimples. Literally disinfectant your tools. If not then make time after each client to clean.
@@playboyjohnathan2978 I’m an esthetician and I give my self clean up time so I can disinfectant. I have never used a tool on one person and then another if I didn’t disinfectant properly. Disgusting.
I don't see barbers doing this after every haircut and I've been to many barbershops. After a client, they use the same guards and combs/brushes, no cleaning. The most I've seen is a spray of the Cool Care, and that's only on the clippers. I've noticed the cleaning you described being accomplished either closed hours or before they open.
So you’re telling me if you have 8 clients back to back in a day you would have 8 pairs of the half and one guard? Usually barbers don’t have the time to disinfect between cuts and I’ve never heard of them having multiple guards usually they have about 2-3 of each and spray with cool care to disinfect in between haircuts and use barbicide at the end of the day to disinfect everything completely
No I clean in between haircuts. I do hour long appointments. Service usually takes about 45 minutes then I spend 10-15 minutes cleaning & disinfecting.
@@ChretienGerada Thats really good just asking to get a idea from an experienced barber since a lot of my learning is coming from UA-cam. In the past I’ve gotten haircuts from people who do not follow a similar routine to yours so I’m gonna implement that. Great video btw
Because that is only cleaning your tools. They need to be disinfected after cleaning. Disinfecting is the killing of most microbial life that can lead to infection in humans-such as Influenza, Staphylococcus, HIV/AIDS, Herpes, Salmonella and Hepatitis. Cleaning your tools won’t disinfect them. Hope this helps
As long as you don’t leave it in past the recommended time it should be fine. Tools usually rust because people leave them in for hours or don’t use the proper ratios.
I don't use a neck duster anymore since they really can't be disinfected thoroughly. I just use a towel to clean off my clients. Hope this alternative helps.
There is no such thing as wasting water. When you run water in a sink or flush a toilet, it does not go to the moon or another planet. It goes into the ground and is filtered by the ground which is many layers of dirt, rock and sand; then back into the aquifer where you got from in the fist place.
Well in terms of scissors, by law in CA they have go in there, but barcicide can ruin japanese steel, so its better to spray with clippercide or cool care
Good thing I watch this, I was going to only pour the barbicide in the jar
Ong same
Lol me too 😂
Did that my first day at a shop 😂
Sameeeeeee
Lol it happens to the best of us. But if you do that it’ll rot your tools because the disinfectant is too concentrated and you waste a lot of money

I would still change it out daily. The power of the concentration only last so long.
Once it gets cloudy or foamy then change it. I feel like changing it daily is a scheme of Barbacide company to have the buyer run out quicker so you can buy another one. And they make more money that way.
I would always use the recommended ratio on the barbicide bottle which is 2 oz (1/4 cup) barbicide to 32 oz (4 cups) water

how many times do you clean your tools like that? or do you do that after every cut

why the running water?
Nice one
Why do u need the barbercide if you clean the tools with soap?
Soap doesn’t completely kill all the bacteria and viruses that Barbicide does.
I’m confused. Why can’t you just wash your guards and use them again? What more will this solution do after you have cleaned them.
Because that is only cleaning your tools. They need to be disinfected after cleaning.
