I’m in nail school and coming to this page is SOOOOOO educational!!!! Listen if you are thinking about going to school GOO!!! But don’t stop studying! I promise UA-cam especially Young Nails has gotten me through school during Covid. What I learn here, I’ve learned in school as well ♥️♥️♥️
I had no idea you could clean cured acrylic out of a brush with monomer!! Thanks for the tip. I’m definitely going to save money from not having to replace my brush as often. Brush cleaner definitely kills them over time.
Just what I needed. Thank you so much for sharing this. All of you are so great for helping us with such useful information. Thank you again for all your videos.
Your guys Swipe has really helped me cut down my smell of monomer in my nail room! I keep a small cotton pad with swipe on it and when I’m doing an application I wipe my brush on that instead of a paper towel and have noticed a big difference in the lingering aspect of any monomer!
One question I still have is what if you need to use your art brushes for regular polish? You answered the acrylic and gel related brush questions, but what's the best way to clean brushes for nail polish, since it airdries?
I've learned so much watching your videos. I do my own nails along with my friends. Just wish I wasnt on a fixed income and could afford all your products lol.
Very helpful. I’m new to the synergy hard gel system. Do I need to wipe my brush in between steps when applying the gel? Would I use a tile? Ty in advance. Love the product so far.
Unfortunately, when the gel is cured on you will most likely need new brushes. You don't want to soak in acetone because the harsh chemicals can fray they bristles or lead to problems with product adhesion.
Im am self learning to do acrylics i thank u for ur videos. 🙏 my question is wen doing my own nails and have to use my drill in my left hand, do i have to buy left hand bits or is it ok as long and the drill reverses?
Since I thought the same thing and had the same question but I don't see anybody answering it this is what I found online: "Nail monomer, also known as nail liquid, is a chemical compound used to create acrylic nails. Monomers are molecules that adhere to other molecules to form a polymer. Nail monomer is made up of ethyl methacrylate (EMA) and other additives, and is often purple with UV inhibitors to protect the acrylic polymer from yellowing. When mixed with nail polymer, the monomer creates a paste-like texture that forms long-lasting acrylic manicures." 😊
We find that using gel paints work more smoothly for most design work and they don’t dry in your brush, but if you prefer polish or acrylic pants, you would need to use a solvent to dissolve the paint. You may need to use polish remover or acetone to clean out the paint, but keep in mind this is very drying on the bristles and can cause them to fray. You may try rinsing them in monomer to help keep them conditioned but wipe out the excess so it doesn’t interfere with your paints.
Thank you for this important and useful information 💁♀️ 👍 one question, do you need to take off all the builder gel from your brush before use it again to apply the top gloss?
Hi guys I only just started and have to teach myself, when I put acrylic on it goes all ridged and lumpy, how do I make it go on smooth and is it meant to go on as a lump, its hard to smooth😢😢😢 I can't afford to go to a school for this so r u able to help? Xx
We firmly believe in being able to shape the acrylic after it is on with an e-file as long as there is enough product on the nail for the correct strength and structure. If shaping is what you are having issues with, we have many great videos we can send to you. It kind of sounds like the issue you may be having is the acrylic is hardening before you have a chance to sculpt/move it where you want. Let us know which one is your issue and we can help you troubleshoot.
Quick question, when removing slick pour via the caption conversion method on natural nails, which bit would you say to use the safety bit or the tornado bit?
If i am working in a salon and i just finished a client nails so should i leave my brush in the monomer till my another client comes? And should i use the same monomer or should i change it because i left the brush in the monomer?
It's always best to use fresh monomer for each client. This way your monomer won't get saturated or feel "thick" when you use it on your next client and you will be able to pick up consistent pearls every time. To avoid wasting monomer, never fill your dampen dish any higher than the top of the bristles of your brush.
I have left my poly gel brush with small coat of gel...sometimes base coat...sometimes a clear builder...and it’s really been happy for almost 7 months now. Their methods WORK!
You can 100% use swipe to remove the gel from the tile. I add some to a lint free wipe and remove as much as i can. Once all the gel is off, I take a dry lint free wipe and remove all leftover traces of liquid to dry it
We do not recommend putting anything other than monomer in your acrylic brush. Oils or any other chemicals can contaminate the brush and interfere with your product adhesion or cause lifting.
I didn’t even want to mess with my micro detailer brush until I watched a vid on how to care for it! I wish all brushes came with caps! What I’ve been doing is melting to the top of the Plastic tubes and wrapping with electric tape as a kind of makeshift cap!
What about getting glitter out of brushes? Do you recommend having 2 acrylic brushes? I've heard this somewhere before but it would work out expensive having to have 2 of every type of brush...
how do i store my acrylic brush? like do i leave it wet with monomer and let it dry? is it ok to keep it in the original tube thingy that brushes usually come in?
currently in nail school: when disinfecting implements & tools with Barbicide, are you supposed to disinfect your acrylic brush or will that ruin the brush?
We generally don't recommend disinfecting your acrylic brush since it is not a bacteria-friendly environment, but make sure to check with your state board for their requirements.
If you have a brush cover, it's best to store them with the cover on and pointing downward so any monomer can remain in the bristles rather than running to the handle. However, you can also store them covered in a drawer. Some techs like to keep them with the point upward in a cup on their station, but make sure however you store them, it is within your state board's regulations.
Very curious question. So is it not good to add a drop or 2 into the monomer to lay your acrylic? I've heard some nail techs doing it bcos of the acrylic being too runny?
Synergy gels are a hard gel that need to be placed in a UV/LED light to cure. They do not contain solvents that evaporate to dry/cure them. If you need more specific info on ingredients, please contact our customer service team for SDS info.
Unfortunately, you would most likely need a new brush. You could try the acetone, but we also don't recommend using that to clean brushes because it can lead to fraying the brush.
Which brushes are they asking about? Acrylic, gel, nail art? It's best to check with your local Cosmetology State Board for their guidelines for sanitizing brushes, but in most states it is not required to sanitize acrylic or gel brushes since they are not used in a bacteria-friendly environment.
I've been trying this to restore my acrylic nail brushes but when I drain/wipe the monomer out, the bristles don't stay together when I flatten it. It poofs out still. What am I doing wrong?
If the brush has a crimp in the ferrule (the metal piece that holds the bristles), make sure that you are always wiping or pressing the brush flat with that crimp. If you wipe on the side of the brush or swirl your brush on your table towel, this can push the bristles out to the sides or bend them.
Hi Laila, unfortunately if you have gel cured in your brush there is no way to remove it. Try to always keep your gel brush away from your lamps and store in a drawer. Exposure to enough sunlight will also cure the gel in your brush
I have to put a request! You guys should start making these brushes with caps 😊 what caps do you use? Also this may be stupid but I think so In depth even if sometimes it’s common sense I rather ask and be 110% sure then be 5% unsure. So after so all that with our art brushes do we leave a little bit of that clear gel in the bristles like we do with are gel sculpting brushes or do we take a lint free wipe and wipe it?
You can or you can use a lint free wipe to remove it. We do have 2 brushes available that come with caps. www.youngnails.com/products/yni-finesse-pro-gel-sculptor www.youngnails.com/products/yni-finesse-pro-acrylic-sculptor
You want to make sure you are only leaving the brush in there for a couple of minutes, just enough time to clean it out. Do not leave it longer than 5 minutes as this can bend the point.
I feel like you guys are reading my mind, every time I have a concern there is a video about it coming up. Thank you!
🤔 Haha nice!! It's our pleasure! Hope this helped!
Exactly
Mine too...I literally need to clean the gel brush and was like ummmm what to do?! 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

I really like Stephenie, her voice is so comforting and I learned alot from her as a young teen starting acrylic nails! ❤❤
That was extremely helpful! Thank you!
Learn something new every day! Had no idea gel cleaned the brush!
I’ve always wondered how to properly clean my brushes. Thanks for sharing!
I had no idea you could clean cured acrylic out of a brush with monomer!! Thanks for the tip. I’m definitely going to save money from not having to replace my brush as often. Brush cleaner definitely kills them over time.

Could you make a video on contact dermatitis and what happens once you get it?
You are an absolute lifesaver!!💕
Happy to help! We hope you enjoyed this video on how to clean your nail brushes.
Your guys Swipe has really helped me cut down my smell of monomer in my nail room! I keep a small cotton pad with swipe on it and when I’m doing an application I wipe my brush on that instead of a paper towel and have noticed a big difference in the lingering aspect of any monomer!
What’s swipe?
One question I still have is what if you need to use your art brushes for regular polish? You answered the acrylic and gel related brush questions, but what's the best way to clean brushes for nail polish, since it airdries?
You would most likely want to use a nail polish remover as soon as you are finished with each color so it doesn't dry on your brush.
Amazing! That was super helpful thank you 🙏💖💖💖✨️🌟
Thank you i was hoping i was caring for my new young nails brushes correctly, informative and useful! ❤
Stephanie you look beautiful in this video! Thanks for the brush info...have been so looking for this info.
Wow!! Amazing. Thank you so much. I’m just now getting into nail art
Thank you so much...I get attached to my brushes! BTW, your nails are awesome, Steph!
Very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
I've learned so much watching your videos. I do my own nails along with my friends. Just wish I wasnt on a fixed income and could afford all your products lol.
Awesome advice ! Any suggestions for fuzz getting onto your gel brush ? I usually try using swipe to remove it haha
Thats is the best way to clean it, A little bit of swipe and a lint free wipes should get rid of those pesky fuzz pieces!
Love the video! Wanted to REALLY know how to clean bruches.
Glad you liked it!!
Thanks Soo much for your tips to clean brushes
Very helpful. I’m new to the synergy hard gel system. Do I need to wipe my brush in between steps when applying the gel? Would I use a tile? Ty in advance. Love the product so far.
You would only need to wipe the brush in between if you change gels/colors. Using a tile is a great option so it keeps your brush lint-free!
It's like you read my mind, was looking for an informative video like this 🤩
Hope it was helpful! 🤔 we got the signal 😬
She’s so smart and practical!
Thank You this is perfect technique for cleaning brushes.👌♥️👍
Thank you so much for this video! I have been looking for a good video on this topic for a while, & you guys delivered! 💙

This beginner thanks you so very much
You're welcome! We hope you enjoyed this video on how to clean your nail brushes.
Heyyy this video helps me so much but my art brushes were around lamp and they've cured the nail polishes how can I clean them any idea
Unfortunately, when the gel is cured on you will most likely need new brushes. You don't want to soak in acetone because the harsh chemicals can fray they bristles or lead to problems with product adhesion.
I am so happy to know that at least I take exceptional care of my brushes.
It's so important, and it makes us happy that you do!!

Thank you very much guys😊👍🇨🇦
Thank you guys for putting that I really was going crazy cause I didn't knoe how to take off the acrylic off of my brush now i do
Thank you so mutch this Tips help me so mutch😀😀
If you do not have caps how do you store them
We make sure our brushes are not in the path of a curing light or sunlight in our filming room.
Thank you
Can I use clear gel from a bottle instead? Such as base or top coat ?
Yes you could.
Love it, thank you for the advice!!
Thank you very much for this information
So when you run the nail art brush through the gel how do you clean the gel out of the brush?
We don’t. We like to keep some in the brush to help keep the shape of it.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for this important and useful information 💁♀️ 👍 one question, do you need to take off all the builder gel from your brush before use it again to apply the top gloss?
I really needed this video! Thx!

what about a brush i use for polygel with alchohol? if my hairs are dry bcuz of the alcohol what can i do
We always recommend leaving a little gel on your brush. That will keep the hair from drying out.
I have left my poly gel brush with small coat of gel...sometimes base coat...sometimes a clear builder...and it’s really been happy for almost 7 months now. Their methods WORK!
But how do you clean nail- art brushes mid use if you don’t have the clear gel stuff? Can you just use water ?
You don't have any clear gel at all? It doesn't have to be hard gel. You can use a base coat or top coat
Got it! Now after I’ve done that, how do I properly store my brush?

What about removing the gel from the tile? What do we use then (if we do not have SWIPE)? Thank you

Can you put cuticle oil on your acrylic brush or will it mess it up

We recommend having a brush just for glitter.
Thank you for the tips. How about for rhinestone gel glue brushes.?
Our pleasure!! If the glue hardens on your brush unfortunately there really isn't a way to clean those.
how do i store my acrylic brush? like do i leave it wet with monomer and let it dry? is it ok to keep it in the original tube thingy that brushes usually come in?

My brush has some acrylic stuck on the bottom part of the handle. Any ideas on how to clean that?
Thank you for the lesson I love you guys❤❤❤❤
We love you back, thank you for watching! ❤️💖
Is it possible for you to ship products to Europe? In Denmark?
After cleaning our brushes how should we store them upside down or they fine to sit normal

If you're referring to adding acetone the only time we suggest to use it with monomer is for flowers.. otherwise it will make your acrylic weak.
@@youngnailsinc thank you for answering !😊 I've just seen a few nail techs on yt usually recommending it even for regular applying.
What color acrylic is on yur nails?!
How do you properly store it? Laying flat? In a cup with bristles up?
We have ours in a cup with the bristles up.
Is synergy gel solvent-free?
Synergy gels are a hard gel that need to be placed in a UV/LED light to cure. They do not contain solvents that evaporate to dry/cure them. If you need more specific info on ingredients, please contact our customer service team for SDS info.
@@youngnailsinc Thanks so much!!
Should you always leave some gel on your brushes when your done?
We like to in order to help keep the shape.
Cool 🙏🙏thanks 👍❤️❤️❤️

Do you know what to do with a art brush that has cured gel polish stuck on it?😭 I’m not sure if I should use acetone to get the gel out.
Unfortunately, you would most likely need a new brush. You could try the acetone, but we also don't recommend using that to clean brushes because it can lead to fraying the brush.
Thanks so much,very helpful 😉 smooches 💋
Thanks for the Tips 🤗
I second that Motion Bielka😊 Mind readers YN Lol
What if you dont have that gel to help get the color out ?
I clean and store my gel brushes with the gel base coat and it works.
This is great, but how do you then recommend sanitizing your brushes between clients? Alcohol?
Which brushes are they asking about? Acrylic, gel, nail art?
It's best to check with your local Cosmetology State Board for their guidelines for sanitizing brushes, but in most states it is not required to sanitize acrylic or gel brushes since they are not used in a bacteria-friendly environment.
Thank you soooo much
I sometimes use an eyelash comb for my acrylic brush, the metal kind. GENTLY coming of course.
What kind of brush is best and where do i buy it at?
What are you wanting to use the brush for?
I've been trying this to restore my acrylic nail brushes but when I drain/wipe the monomer out, the bristles don't stay together when I flatten it. It poofs out still. What am I doing wrong?
If the brush has a crimp in the ferrule (the metal piece that holds the bristles), make sure that you are always wiping or pressing the brush flat with that crimp. If you wipe on the side of the brush or swirl your brush on your table towel, this can push the bristles out to the sides or bend them.
What kind of paper towel are you using to wipe your brushes? I'm realizing that matters as well.
They are ours, available on our website.
We have a sale coming up, starting the 20th at 6 pm PST.

What if my brush is already frayed from acetone?
If you use the fine detail brush with normal nail polish. If acetone damages the brush, how would you clean it?
You would need to lightly clean it out with polish remover.. you may just have to replace more often or you could get a synthetic brush
Wow I have really been overdoing it with the acetone using it to clean between colors 🤦🏾♀️
THANK YOOOU!
Thanks 😘
Thank you too
Nice👍
What if they’re dried? Can I fix those ?
Is it your acrylic brush or your gel brush?
Yeah but when I have left the brush sitting in the monomer it changes the shape it smushes the bottom
You want to make sure you are only leaving the brush in there for a couple of minutes, just enough time to clean it out. Do not leave it longer than 5 minutes as this can bend the point.
