I WAS THERE, TOO!!!! I didn’t know you would be there. If I had seen you, I would have stopped to talk. I have to admit, though, that I was there for weaving and spinning tools and spinning fiber more than yarn….so I passed by a LOT of the yarn only booths.
Cochineal is a bug that looks like roly polys and lives on cacti. The dye from them is also called carmine. It can make some vibrant reds, as well as that pretty pink.

How cool to have this video some up in my UA-cam feed! I had a shawl on display there in the Purple Lamb Fiber Arts booth. She commissioned a *crocheted* assigned pooling project using some of her yarn. I was not able to get out there, but I was straining to look in the background of your video to see if I could see her booth, lol. This was super fun video and I will for sure check out some of these amazing fiber artists. Gorgeous colorways on display here!

Getting ready to go on the NYC Yarn Crawl on the 29th. Want to go to three yarn stores in Brooklyn. I got some really nice hand dyed yarn at Argyle Luminous Brooklyn. I was able to make two cowls and two hats. I'm looking to find a cable hat pattern for beginner, as I've never done a cable hat before. Can't seem to find one on Ravelry. I'm going to make another reversible cable scarf again, this time with three cables instead of four. I want to make a cowl with same reversible CB8 cables, but not sure how many stitches to cast on to knit in the round. The pattern I originally came up with used 47 stitches for long scarf 3 stitches in seed stitch on each side and 3 in-between the cables the cables are done with knit 2 purl 2 knit 2 purl 2. So you put 4 stitches on cable needle knit 2 purl 2 from needle then knit of cable needle. This makes the scarf reversible. I was thinking I would need 8 cables for a cowl, how many stitches would I need to cast on? Can anyone help with that. I did the original scarf with size 8 circular needles.

that was a great recap. i cant help but wonder if you understand the reference in "barbie does dallas"? it is a reference/play on words to an adult film that i think was big in the 80's. I remember hearing the name when i was at high school. the color is awesome.

Absolutely! There were many crocheters there! I would google fiber festivals in your area. you can also ask at your local yarn store (if you have one). I know we have several festivals and yarn crawls throughout Texas.
