Yay! 3 of my very local yarn stores- Avenue Yarns, A Verb, and Black Squirrel! Of course I got those marked off my bingo card. Hoping to make it to the rest this week!
Loved this! I live in San Francisco but the Bay Area is so big & is lucky enough to have so many LYS that I have not been to most. I think mine will be in part 2. Hope you enjoyed your time here!
Love this! It made me emotional lol. I have settled in San Francisco (not far from Love Fest) but lived in the east bay for a long time and it was so fun to see my old go to stores and new ones! There were even a few I’ve visited years ago and then forgot about! Thanks Natalie 😊
This is such a nice round-up of all the Bay Area yarn shops, helpful not only for people on the BAY Crawl but also those visiting the area in the future. Thanks for the shout-out about my kits!
So excited for these vids! A friend and I did the crawl, so it was very fun seeing all the stores we went to in here! Thank you for being super cool at pop of color on sunday!
So I live in Martinez and I was not aware there was a yarn store in my downtown area! And there’s always a bunch of kids in downtown because it’s the hangout spot for teens and families and on Fridays they close down the street to do some live music. I was lucky enough to be apart of that and it was amazing!
This was so much fun! I’m in the Bay Area, but on a pretty serious yarn diet this year. I’m allowing myself a birthday treat and a couple of MKALs, and hopefully I’ll get to one of our local stores to indulge.
How can you resist all the yarn and "stuff"? On a road trip from Michigan to Arkansas. Needed some sunshine. Bought WAY too much at Arkansas Yarn CO in Malvern. I even have a skein of Knit-Tea... Yeah!!
I live in Fort Bragg about 3 hours north of San Francisco. I really loved this video because I’ll be in the city next month. Maybe I can sneak in a visit to one of the shops!
Drooling over all the colors of the yarn. Finished the sleeve scarf, came out really nice after blocking. Sad to say the scarf kit I want to do from Purl Soho with new silk wool yarn and silk mohair, is out of stock.
Love to have some tips on how you plan a purchase. I go into stores and leave with nothing because I don’t have a project in mind and am afraid of having just random skeins around with not enough for a later project.
Piedmont Yarn unfortunately closed on 7/31/2024, I had a chance to buy 2 Circulo Whoopee Cakes before they closed and plan on making some kitchen towels with them.
It's when a vendor or maker has their specific goods featured in the store for a limited time, often with them there in person to interact with local shoppers.
The area they covered are miles apart ~ I don’t think you’d be able to get to these places without a car. The 1st 5 or so stores are across the bay from the others. Either 1 or 2 bridges depending on which way you drive ~ and possibly at least an hour plus ~ depending on traffic. I suggest to Go across the GoldenGate or Richmond Bridge in the morning (going against traffic). Try to have more then 1 persons in your car to take advantage of diamond lanes. It’s a long way around the bay.

Hooray! You're so lucky to have so many amazing choices!
I was at Busy Stix today and Finn is a sweet dog.
So sweet!

So exciting to see my LYS featured here! Thank you!!😊
The crawls, shops and studios are my fav vids! All places I would love to go. 🧶
Aww yay! Thank you!
So many stores!!! I love that you are highlighting a lot of smaller indie dyers that I would otherwise never have heard of.
This is a yarn store and fibre overload today! So much wool and so much colour! I am loving this! Thank you for making these videos!
Can’t believe I’m first!! Hi Natalie! Looking forward to enjoying this video with my coffee.
Hey Trish! Good morning!

I'd love to have a yarn crawl where I live, preferably with some plant-based fibres as well. It looks like so much fun!
Love love love! So glad you were able to make it! Can't wait for Part 2!
Eek!!

It is a lot 😅 I can’t imagine having so many amazing places to shop!
Wow the dye studio is so beautiful! I love their yarn. Hoping you got some so you can share more about how it knits up. (I have family out there)
Oh it was so cool! I didn't get anything this time, but I'm thinking about it for my next garment!
I've driven by these shops.. I need to visit them sometime 🙂

Haha some days I’m in the mood to buy a lot and some days I’m not. I do not resist 😅 I try to buy either for my blanket or just one project ahead!
Thank you for taking us along. I wanted to join this year but maybe I'll try next year!
Knit House on Main is my Knitting Home 💚Both the staff and clientele are lovely and helpful.

Perfect!! There are so many great ones to choose from. 😁
Fabulous job as always! Why did the phrase "underbelly of a goat" make me laugh?!
Thanks for this, I live near Walnut Creek and this is a great peek

What do you mean by "trunk show "? Do you mean it's a sale? I've never heard of that term.

@@CaseyJE1 ok thank you. 🥰
Did anyone use public transportation? Any recommendations?

I grew up in Martinez! I’ve lived in the Midwest for 30 plus years now but my parents still live there. I’ll have to go that shop next time I visit 😀
