Thank you for the wonderful shopping trip! I am bedridden so stores are a distant memory. I shopped along with you and filled my online cart. Now it's time to weed it out down to only what I really need right now. Lol. Costa Rica sounds like a fun trip for your kids and grandkids. One of my friends and his family moved there just before the pandemic just for a year to give his family new experiences. He can work from anywhere. Well, the pandemic hit and they couldn't come back to America the whole time. They lived in a tiny remote village so it didn't really affect them at all. They ended up living there for 3 years. They were able to travel all over the country there and he took the most amazing pictures and wrote hilarious accounts of their adventures. Entertained all of us in lockdown. They even saved a 200 lb turtle that had become trapped in a hole under a tree root. No idea how long it had been there but it was very weak so had been awhile. They doused it with water as they quickly dug it out and helped it back to the sea where it happily swam away. This beach it was on was remote and completely deserted. If they had not come along when they did it probably wouldn't have survived. I hope your family has wonderful adventures there on their visit. It sounds like a great place to live. Probably why your dad lives there. :) Thank you for another wonderful video.
Your JoAnn’s had a lot of new to me yarns😊! I really like looking at them! Prices are a little by high on some of them, but still really pretty to look at 😊! Thanks Ginger for taking us shopping 🛍️! Take care 🥰!
I live in Maryland. I have 2 Joanne stores within driving distance of my home, and neither have very much yarn,Michelle has even less. Hobby Lobby has about the same as Joanne. My part of Maryland is a mail order yarn area for sure. Thanks for sharing your bounty, Ginger.
I appreciate your browsing-when I go into joAnns , I go straight to what I'm there for, grab what I need and head for checkout. I never take the time to just browse, so thank you!😊
I do know and support my wife's choices. She has blessed me with 7 beautiful children. All are healthy and happy and live fantastic lives. Bills will always be there and somedays we will be ahead and other days we will be behind. It is what it is. Our life and our love is an absolute blessing. There is no other person I'd rather be with. Poverty is a state of mind. Trust me, we are Spiritually very wealthy ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
TIP: Where the child sits put the green thing up (flip it up) and you can fit about 15 things of yarn in there. I do it all the time. Loved all the yarns - we don’t have as many in Southern Illinois.
I think green, blue, pink and purple are great colors that match together well. I wish you would show the size of needle you need to crochet with that yarn. 😢🧶
I love going yarn shopping with you! That Lucky bamboo yarn is amazing! I'm making a dress/swimsuit cover up out of it now. So easy to work with and feels awesome in your hands! Thinking i need to try the Caron bamboo yarn too.
@@theYarnGeekIt is! I live in Kansas City Kansas and it's the only JoAnn's craft store that actually has yarn selections. I tried to go there twice a month for their yarn on sale You should try hobby lobby craft store in that area they have massive selections of yarn!
I noticed you parked in the sade! Summertime, even with Halloween for sale. I had to chuckle when you said you didn't know wĥy you are liking purple so much when green was your favorite. Last night I watched Juan and he said he was liking and buying greens now, even though purple has been his favorite. You bought so little yarn after loving so many on sale? You are much better at being restrained than I could be!
I'll have to go to our local JoAnns, like the Eddie Bauer. Those purples together and pink with the gray perfect combination. If you can tell us what needle size the yarn uses, or hold it up close to phone camera video. I'm a knitter, and it would be helpful to decide if I want to go to buy it. I will admit I'm not a big fan of acrylic yarn for knitting but, Lion Brand is the best acrylic to work with. I'm doing a brioche scarf with Mandela sparkle yarn in color Crux. Just wish it would hold its shape better. I made a cowl and hat for a friend with Lion Brand Hometown cause she is allergic to wool. Your lucky cause, your store is bigger than ours for the yarn section. It's way bigger than our Michaels though, we have one yarn aisle.
Hi Thryss! I have made a bag and I’m testing a dress pattern right now with Linen, but I haven’t tried the Patons yet. Thanks for letting me know…. Now I NEED 😂 to get some! 😄
@theYarnGeek I got the succulent Sage color and just gotta figure out what to do with it. Considering the linen it's really nice. I've never worked with linen but since it supposedly softens after washing than I'm really excited to use it and see how soft it become since I like it out the gate.
It gets super soft! My bag went from feeling a bit rough to soft and very flexible. It did shrink a bit, but not too much! I’m not working on a pattern test using 100% linen. Is a dress and I’m super excited to see how it turns out! 😄
A couple of weeks ago at Hobby Lobby.....all along the side ceiling on a high shelf they had stocked boxes and boxes of red, green and I am forgetting what other color....Christmas balls. In June.
I had a grand time shopping with you! I’m always touching every skein and every color, wanting to bring it all home also!! I wish I could use it faster! I can totally relate to your vibe Sending big hugs and lot of yarny goodness your way ❤ SuAnn
Randomly watching this now but I’m obsessed with the Adventurer cotton too (I’d argue it’s really a 1 weight though both patterns I’ve used it on so far were designed for 2 weight and fit seems ok but it’s thinner than some 1 weight yarns I’ve got). It is my favorite yarn on the market right now. Love my fine yarn and love soft cotton and the price and yardage is just so good. Anyway- I’m also obsessed with purple lately and always been a pink/red/orange fan. I have a 3/4 sleeve top I made with the violet color and I’m working up a cute going to be so perfect for fall cardigan in the burnt orange shade which- have you seen it? Orange is my absolute favorite color but hard to wear and this orange is just so perfect. Ahh you have it in your shirt already. Haha. I’m bummed I didn’t see the Scarlet at my store because that’s for sure going to be my next project. I love the really vibrant teal and thought I had bought some but I must have set it down last minute and now I’ve been wanting to use it for summer tops. I’m bummed the hand dyed cotton is only on speckle and variegated this year? I still have a bunch from last year because I bought it all up on clearance from like 8 different stores. Told you I love my fine yarns and cotton. 😂 I haven’t been to Joann’s in ages because I’m trying to work through my stash and planning a move so need to save money but the Mandala Gradient and Lucky Brand Bamboo has been calling my name. You should take a look at that Forever Fleece Finest. I noticed your store still doesn’t have all the shades either. There’s an orange and something else I’ve been wanting but I have only seen it online and not in stores. I have like four shades though because ive been dying to make a blanket with it. My local store had it out before anywhere so I’ve had it for ages now. Since February or March. Finally finished up a throw I was working on so I should get started on this forever fleece blanket now. I am not a big blanket maker but that just feels like it will be the softest coziest blanket ever. And funny everyone is making blankets and shawls with the Bernat Lattice. I grabbed the purple color of that at the same time I found the Forever Fleece Finest (see why I’m not buying new yarns now. I even bought things with projects in mind but am 6-7 months behind even with that 🤦♀️) but I thought it would make a great summer top. I’ve only seen one person make wearables with it but that’s what it was screaming to me to use it for. Think my next project may be with it and that’s how I found your video. Not enough lattice yarn reviews or makes out there still. I just really love the look and feel of it.
Hi Ginger. Im familiar with that store. Great shopping trip. I saw some k+c donuts i have to have. You saved the best for last, the cotton hanks, which i have. I also have rhe woolpaca in that same color ❤ and i have the organic cotton too. Thanks for showing everything. I agreed about the clearance prices...not impressed.
Just found your channel and LOVE it!! I so wish my joanns had all this amazing yarn! Might have to start traveling to other ones to see if I can find all this amazing yarn
That Eddie Bauer Alpaca blend went in to my cart! What did you think of EB Cozy Camp? OMG, that's some pretty yarn. You definitely had a color pallette in mind today.
If you are making things for the holidays, you have to start now. Too close to the holidays start means rarely will it be finished in time. Cant start till you have the yarn. Im knitting Christmas present sweaters right now because I need to make several. If I dont start now, or a month ago, I wont be done in time. My sweaters Im making are not in Christmas colors, but if Im going to make Christmas decor, I would need to start it soon. :)
How’d you get into poison ivy? I recently did too! My dogs pulled me on a trail in the woods I haven’t been on in a long time and it was covered in 3 leaf prongs of pain. As soon as we got off the trail I rushed to the river to wash off. Only a few welts of damage!
So fun! I really enjoyed this. Also the Big Twist is not Halloween, that’s the Bi Flag. They came out with a whole line of different pride flags 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈
Oops. I think she said Kansas when she mentioned the plastic bags, but at the beginning of the video she said she was in Kansas City Missouri. So it must be a Missouri thing. :)

So glad I found these awesome crochet peeps!
A lot.of great options, colors, yarn types at the JoAnn's. Proces were quite reasonable. JoAnn's always has coupons for yarn sales. Great yarn haul.
Hi Ginger, Thanks for taking us along with you to Joann’s. Lots of really pretty yarns. 🧶🫂
