- 1st night of a 3 day trip up to Glencoe. Spent the night in the lost valley. Snowed all night and all day, what an amazing location. Hiked up in the dark, woke up to a winter wonderland. You just cant beat it, priceless👍😎👌

Devine morning for ye, nice. Middle sister showed her face in t snow. Scrambled egg n cheese add kabsah spice n shahi kala jeera with green chilli, lovely. Next snow camp gonna build a snowman. Leave no trace mind.

The most magical place in Scotland, spent many times summer and winter there, the big bolder is just amazing but don’t tell everyone.
A stunning place, well worth the hike up, and to get snow was the icing on the cake. All part of a 3 day wild camping trip in the snow, priceless👍🏔❄🌨🏕👌

Great tent the Abisko light 1, got one as well, packs down nice and small, nice and light. Lost valley is superb, highly recommend👍🏕🏴👌

Beautiful, stunning place! Been to Glencoe a few times in my life, but never when it's been heavy snow, which is probably, tbh, when it's at it's best. It's an amazing atmospheric place. But you must worry the life out of your loves ones by wandering off into the great Scottish Highlands in the middle of Winter by yourself! Lol 🤣 x

Such a beautiful place. I always worry too much about suddenly falling sick (I have health anxiety) to stay at places like this alone for long. But the solitude must feel amazing if you can conquer that fear. I'm a patriotic Englishman but there isn't anywhere else within the UK quite like the Scottish Highlands.

I’m a cold sleeper so im doing my homework on sleeping bags just now but settled on a exped winter mat 7.0 and n I will make a foil blanket to match the inner tent floor space. I’m really looking forward to winter camping since I have GlenCoe just two hours away and I’m on the pentlands in Edinburgh for random nights for practice.

Bit of a tough climb up there in the dark mind and although I am not too keen on a boil in the bag, I bet it was welcome when you eventually got set up. First bit of snow I have seen this year and what a winter wonderland it looked as well. I love walking in fresh snow and how you did a double crossing of that river without going in I do not know lol! Cheers Alan
Aye, Alan, it was a challenge going up in the dark, but well worth the effort. Not that keen on these dehydrated meals either, but saved me a good bit of weight, the stew and potatoes were really good to be honest, but the scrambled egg and cheese was like rubber😂. So lucky to get 3 days of snow when I went, absolutely priceless. Yep, I've no idea how I managed over that river without falling in, once on the dark on the way up, and stepping stones covered in snow on the way down. An amazing 3 day trip, thoroughly enjoyed it, atb 👍🌨❄🏔🏕😎👌

@@Colinrussellscottishwildcamper It really came across!I lived near Spean Bridge and worked for the Forestry commission up there for several years, I know exactly what you mean, I've hiked every inch of those hills and slept out on the Aonach ridge with the odd beverage at the Clachaig inn too... Awesome vid mate! I was there at the same time but got to the big car park about midnight and slept in the car, woke to some snow but not as much as in the valley. Had some brekkie went a wander about the low area below the car parks before heading to the lost valley about noon.
Didnt get the whole way in because the snow was coming heavier by then and I discovered my boots were letting in. Got up as far as the wooden gate before the weather started closing in again, so headed back to the car park.
My first time heading up that path but I'll defo be back and hopefully with the tent next time.

Quite the video. Thanks for the info on the MacDonalds. I looked them up on Wikipedia and found out that Glencoe has a history with them. Colin, it looked like you were cold in the tent with all your gear on. Does the tent hold the heatand is it a true 4 season tent? I look forward to the rest of your trip. The area is truly stunning.

Cheers Al Belik, Scottish Wanderer and Bugset were in Glencoe at the weekend, but I couldnt make it. On holiday for a week, so I'm up here for 3 nights, 3 days doing some wild camping, so there will be a couple more snow camp videos to come. Dare say he was eating spam😂😂😂👍😳
