This is the most frustrating thing about going through cancer and having bad legs, I pass that place alot but just can't get out and go for a walk due to the damage chemotherapy has done to me ☹ but with videos like this it makes me feel like I've seen it all, thank you both so much 👍
You have my sympathies chum, I have been walking the Scotttish hills for over fifty years and cycling and driving for almost as long. Comes as a real blow, when you can't do things you always took for granted. I used to think nothing of ten or fifteen miles, now half a mile to the shops and back without going on my backside is an acheivement Steve's video's bring back a lot of memories. I actualy remember Tyndrum before the Green Welly Shop when we used to stop there fifty years ago in Landrovers and an old British Army Jeep. At that time there was a real character in the area called Gus who lived in nearby Glenorchy were we used to camp. Cop in Appin told us he was the best poacher in the West Highlands no one could ever catch him. The lost valley appears to not have changed in thirty five years since I was last there. Thanks for the views Steve, and love your partner,Real Polish Lady.
Sympathies from a fellow sufferer, soon to have surgery. One good thing, frustrating as it may be that you can no longer fully enjoy it, you have a beautiful part of the world to experience. All the Best with your treatment.
I am in the all clear and have been for a few years but the whole cancer/chemotherapy has ruined me so much I can barely walk 100 metres without being in severe pain, kayak fishing Loch etive is my passion now as I can sit down with my legs flat and that means everything in my situation 🙂
Some years ago me and the missus were driving up Glencoe and me missus saw a sign pointing to the Hidden Valley. She said it cant be hidden very well if it signposted!!!
Both me and my wife have these titles. I am Laird Colin of Glencoe and my late wife was Lady Susan of Glencoe. I bought hers for Valentines day several years ago and I also had a tree planted for her. I'm hoping to get to the Highlands at the end of September in my microcamoer van so might get the chance to visit our plots. Great channel by the way keep it up.
I've only been once to Scotland, and I was blown away by its natural beauty, seeing some of these shots, it really is a lovely place. Wales on steroids, incredible
Lord Steve, thank you so much for taking us all on another adventure to places beyond where most of us can't or won't ever be able to see.A stunning part of beautiful Glencoe. Also a belated birthday wish and what a smashing present from her ladyship. As always Steve and Alijcia take care and stay safe.
The early morning sunlight @ 15:20 highlights the sharp mountain structure and brings them into stark relief in a beautiful manner. Such stunning scenery you've taken us into again. Thanks for bringing us along on your overnight jaunt and happy birthday Laird Steve Marsh. Stay safe you two.
Aaaawwweeeeee. That was lovely! Happy birthday Lord Steve (what a beautiful gift) I think that was my absolute favourite site yet! My Scottish girlfriend has a horror childhood story there that features the midges, so I was wondering how that was going to play out! Hope that you aren’t still scratching! Thankyou both once again. It’s been a perfect finish to a Saturday night Australian time! See you next year…preferably without the bugs 🐜
@@steve-marsh ha ha ha. She would love that! Apparently Dad took the family out there and abandoned the idea in the middle of the night....swore that they would never do that again 😳
If anyone deserves the titles of Lord and Lady it’s you too. You make me smile with the things you get up to and the sincere enjoyment you exhibit in all your videos. Keep ‘em coming and thanks again.
Thank you for taking me along on a hike that Ii couldn't do myself. I've driven through Glencoe and found it a bit depressing but maybe that was the weather! So thanks Steve, sorry, My Lord!
Hi Steve, another little gem from you guys once more & plus the beautiful piece of music 'Amidst The Stars' by Christoffer Moe Ditlevsen to end what more can I say? just perfect!
First off, belated happy birthday, Lord Stephen! Secondly, that scene at 1:49 when we first see the valley with Buachaille Etive Mòr in all is grandeur never fails to give my heart a lift. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. What fun! Cheers and ATB to you both!
Well........ Lord Steve that was a real piece of Scotland with the obligatory midge's. Amazing place to visit deep in a glen with that "in the middle of nowhere" feel to it. Good to see you're now a land owner in Glencoe, you'd better visit a few time a year in case of squatters!!!!! Wonder if there's gold in then there hills??? Happy belated birthday.
Absolutely, the midges were there fifty years ago too. Once saw a whole R A F mountain rescue team beat it to the local pub because of them. It is not recorded what happened to the poor saps they were supposedly looking for, coud'nt have been important, probably an excercise.

Lord Steve, you have both produced another great video. I've often thought about exploring the Hidden Valley. I even looked at doing it last year, and then promptly forgot.
Have been up this morning. We were presented with the sighting of three deer on the last hump before we were on the bottom of the valley. Tanks for this video, so I had an idea what I was going in to.
Thank you for a wonderful video! I have driven through Glencoe so often and would still love to try and walk to the Hidden Valley. Congratulations on your Lordship! I'm glad you both had such beautiful weather and I loved the music you used in the video!
Happy Birthday your lordship! what a lovely walk up into the mountains, and some gorgeous scenery - and such a sight to wake up to. I'm far more about the creature comforts in person, but can very appreciate you bringing us this outing to watch.

Oh I love the skirl o' the pipes, memories from my youth, ah wish ah wiz back hame....!!
I really enjoyed this one. Y'all are very lucky to have each other. The Hidden Valley is on my bucket list, but I want to camp overnight there on a February 12th night into the morning of the 13th. To be awake for 5 am on the 13th, the anniversary of the betrayal and massacre of the MacDonald's of Glencoe. To say prayers for the murdered and those who perished in the snow, that they find peace at last. (Remember, several are buried there in unmarked graves.) They deserve peace. I know how this will sound M'Lord, but I sincerely wish that the spirits of Dalrymple, Glenlyon, Duncanson and Hamilton be condemed to wandering there for all eternity; knowing no peace whatsoever. Thank both y'all so much for taking this trip, and for sharing it with us. I remain, your Lordship's most humble and obedient servant.
True, they do deserve peace! I've a clan friend who assures me that they are not at peace and he will not return to the Valley on those days, or that week for that matter. He also told me once that the enmity between the two clans still abides to this day so they cannot be seated in the same venue like the Annual Clan Gathering at Edinburgh Castle. The gathering must be split into separate nights because of the continuing feud, well, this one among others too. The Scots are mighty warriors and champions at carrying a grudge when deserved! In this case, I cannot blame them.
Some absolutely stunning scenery throughout the video mate. The weather played its part which is also a huge bonus haha 🏴 ☀️🔥 many happy returns of the day to ye also mate, don’t look a day over 21 😎
The Glencoe valley is stunning in its views and saturated in tragic history. Steve's comment in the video description about how weather affects the rugged walks, reminded me of the heavy snows the massacre survivors had to experience in their escaping trek away from their assailants. Well your majesty, that's without a doubt the best vid I've seen of The Lost Valley and cracking weather you got to, well done and thank you(I'm doffing my cap now while walking backwards out of the room)🤣👍😎
Thank you, Lord and Lady Marsh. I can't go hiking for a while yet as I had an operation to correct a very flat foot in April. Maybe next year. My heartfelt condolences to the commentators who are recovering from or still undergoing chemotherapy.
My husband and I are in Scotland for 2 weeks this summer. We are actually staying about 90 minutes from Glencoe but we will definitely be visiting this place. It's possible to go to Scotland and not visit Glencoe. This walk looks amazing but I've always been nervous about doing it because of getting lost. We will be there in August though so I suppose there will be lots of people around. Who knows. I may be commenting on this video again at some point to say we did this. That is tremendous! We are both Lords of our small patch in Scotland. My wife got one for me and presented it on our anniversary get away in June of this year. I had no idea. Thank you both for sharing your time in such a beautiful country. Cheers.
Thanks so much fellow-important-person! :)
Ah Steve and Alicja you bring back so many amazing memories that I have of this area also. Climbed here when I was younger sadly don’t have the strength to do it now plus not fun being on my own miss having a climbing partner! But thanks for the amazing video
Well I never if it isn't "Lord and lady Steve of the marsh of Glencoe"....I just hope you two haven't become too posh to speak to me anymore! Lol 😁 What a lovely video and a lovely surprise from Alicja....and wasn't the weather stupendous! Shame about the midges....but it's Scotland....the bitey wee buggers are everywhere at that time of year! 😲😲😲 Great vid, and I look forward to many more from "his lordship and her ladyship" lol 😁😁😁😎😜
I feel too important to even reply, so hope you appreciate it
Welcome to the club my Lord Steve with the most cordial of greetings and birthday wishes from from Lord Simon, like you I was given a parcel of land about five years ago and it is something I am very proud to own, thank you for a beautiful video and I wish you and Lady Alicja good health and happiness, cheers and stay safe.
Simon, we need to meet up and talk about important Lord stuff over a single malt :)
@@steve-marsh A single malt, you are a man after my heart we might have to make it a couple. stay safe Lord Steve and kindest regards to Lady Alicja, looking forward to the next video.
So you are land owners too! Congratulations Lord Steve & Lady Alicja. I'm a Lord too. I own a plot of land (one foot by two feet) and my estate is located in Eddleston, Scotland. I should visit it one time.
Well your majesty, that's without a doubt the best vid I've seen of The Lost Valley and cracking weather you got to, well done and thank you(I'm doffing my cap now while walking backwards out of the room)🤣👍😎
Thanks so much John!!!
Stoppit ‼️two great adventures in 1 evening ‼️👏🤗
Watching this 2nd time, really enjoyed this video, Lord Stephen ,
I am honoured Christine!
Thank you, Lord and Lady Marsh. I can't go hiking for a while yet as I had an operation to correct a very flat foot in April. Maybe next year. My heartfelt condolences to the commentators who are recovering from or still undergoing chemotherapy.
I wish you a speedy recovery!
Fantastic video and thanks for posting.
Amazing vlog as always from my favourite UA-camrs. Scotland is beautiful, I have a week off in October, must do this walk. Thanks again for sharing your amazing trips.
Oh it'd be awesome in October! Cheers Richard!
