    Thank you so much! I repair neon beer signs which are dyed. The glass used is white and then dipped in a very expensive liquid to look like more expensive glass. The Tamiya red is almost a perfect match for ruby red and it looks like the Tamiya yellow will match the yellow (look at a Corona sign.) The paint has saved me hundreds of dollars. Thanks for showing the finished product. That was what I was looking for!

    What a super helpful video. I've never thought of spraying glass until I started watching your channel and your charming, educational videos. When I crack my glass, I come up with lots of chards and I make sure I get them small like the cracked glass you can buy. I have some really wonderful home-cracked clear glass. I thought of giving it all a day-long tumble to make it less "edgy" but haven't done it. But now I'm thinking of also spraying the glass per your different videos. You've given me so many ideas. After all that, still have not completed my Swatch watch table because I have been chicken to work with resin. I have a bit of a fear about resin and haven't tried it. Thank you for all your ideas. I've completely revamped my work with glass at the moment thanks to your inspiration.

    If I might make a suggestion, using the lacquer type of Tamiya paint instead of the ones for Polycarbonate would make for a better result as they're made for a high gloss finish on plastics and don't "etch" themselves into the plastic or resin, giving a really nice look! The PC sprays are made specifically for remote control car bodies, which are made of Polycarbonate. I've got a lot of experience with these sorts of paints since I'm a model kit builder, and these are for model kits after all. By the way, the proper pronunciation for Tamiya is 'Ta-mee-ya' and not 'Ta-may-ya', as it's a Japanese brand. ^-^

    • @crazyglasslady
      @crazyglasslady  Рік тому +1

      Is the lacquer type translucent? With the glass we want translucent. That is why i chose this one

    • @JomasterTheSecond
      @JomasterTheSecond Рік тому +1

      @@crazyglasslady Yes, there's a line of translucent colours in the lacquer range! There's smoke (which is clear black), clear orange, clear red and clear blue, as well as clear pearl which gives a really nice looking pearl finish to things. There's only those colours sadly, so the Polycarbonate type seems the best bet for the rest you want, however a spray of the gloss clear lacquer will bring back a smooth gloss finish.

    I found this video trying to find the canary yellow from Krylon. It's out of production, so the prices are unreasonable. Glad to find an alternative, thank you!

    • @crazyglasslady
      @crazyglasslady  5 місяців тому +1

      yes and the thing is krylon is so much harder to work with because you have to do 4-5 very light coats to get what one coat of the tamiya does . and if you spray too much krylon on it bubbles up and leaves a terrible finish. I feel the small tamiya is equivalent to the large krylon because it is so concentrated.

    • @crazyglasslady
      @crazyglasslady  Рік тому +1

      Well, I have been using a couple of the reasons that Steve McDonald had tested in his videos and they did not yellow in his videos. Where is the art resin did but these are fast curing resins and the fast curing resin are good on glass and in molds but you can’t use them on canvases because they cause fish eyes I truly don’t believe there are any residents that can go out in the heat or in the sun, especially in Florida but I figure the resins that did well in the sun would probably be less likely to yellow in the house also.

    Have you tried Pebeo Vitrail Stained Glass Effect Glass Paint (45-Milliliter Bottle). I have bought two colors and like the color and the translucent look. Not sure how it will work with the resin though, so wondered if you had used it. The first attempt, I actually painted the color on with a brush. Then I put the glass in a plastic cup and poured a few drops and then shook the color on the glass. I liked the variation in the color. Then I put it on waxed paper to dry, had to turn it a few times. It looked good. Now just wondering if it works over time with the resin. Thanks.

      @crazyglasslady  Рік тому

      Im not sure what you are asking. Are you asking if you could use tamiya colored translucent spray paint on a frosted glass light shade.
      The tamiya spray paint is very concentrated. You may consider using the krylon which comes out lighter depending on what color you are looking for. Well you could see on my video what they look like. You can do it, I would just practice on another piece of glass first like maybe a clear glass bottle. I hope that helps

      Is it on glass or canvas? If on canvas you can just paint white on the canvas and put clear glass over the area or if it is on glass you could probably use the artist loft iridescent medium lightly. I have used it in several of my snowmen videos but I think if you just use a very light coat it would give you the effect you are looking for.
