Rebels makes everything look stupid weird by elongating the necks on everything. the elongated neck of the SD bridge superstructure looks just plain goofy.
+Cool Bra It actually is an earlier design. There is the ISD 1 (Used before the Battle of Yavin) which had the bridge structure elongated, and the ISD 2, which had shrunken it more, making it harder to hit. The Executor was the last ship to be made with the elongated bridge tower... and that didn't end to well for them xD
+MCPro Azka While that may be true in star wars battlefront 2 I feel that most of the expanded universe agrees that the emperor wanted that archives intact. The reason being is because of the amount of information in them for the entire history of the galaxy. This would also include sith knowledge that I'm sure the emperor would be most interested in. Besides if he is role playing and the archives were destroyed he may have created a copy of the archives before they were destroyed and then fled during the attack on the temple.
no they didn't. the archives were used to find possible surviving jedi after Order 66. They revealed the locations of several jedi temple which the jedi or other forcesensitives could find. Those temples were under survailance in hope of killing of the last of the jedi. Also Inquisitors used the archives to learn more about their enemies and or boost their own skills. And if i remember correctly they were relocated to the imperial palace.
(roleplay) there are rumors of a drive containing all of the archives knowledge but its just a rumor and... crap Imperials shack if you see this there are Jedi alive contact boba for more agh!
I loved the video shack! Perhaps in the future you could do the Imperial 2 class and point out some of its weaknesses. Example being its exposed shield generators, poor firing arcs for its main guns, massive crew size, exposed bridge, and constant need for supplies.
You should really make more.. i'm a big fan of starwars lore and your a great guy with your dedication to the starwars play troughs! personally Commander cody and captain rex were my favorit as was the 501s legion during the clone era.
Hey guys! I really recommend reading or listening to the audio book of Lost Stars by Claudia Gray. Its cannon for episode 7, Oh boy was it worth it, it was such a trip down memory lane, especially if your a star wars fan.
+Евгения Ремезова Wow rage much? How is recommending a god book shoving it down people throats. Oh I recognize your screen name. The same guy telling me this video is crap because I didn't bring up a bunch of extended universe details that at the moment are not cannon. Chill.
+TheXPGamers Cpt. Shack, oh boy, indeed it was a superb book, the sound effects alone immersed you into Thane and Ciena's world within the Star Wars universe. It truly was enchanting, brought me down memory lane with the story running parallel to the other movies. But Thank you, it was you that got my attention of this gem. It was I believe one of your build videos and you mentioned it, I had to listen hard to make out what it was but it was worth it. Thanks Cpt! Keeping staying awesome.
The Interdictor cruiser shown is specifically the _Immobilizer 418_-class light cruiser. The _Eclipse_-class, _Soverign_-class and _Interdictor_-class (the last of which is simply an _Imperial_-class frame with gravity well generators) also had interdiction capabilities. Speaking of the _Eclipse_, that massive vessel (just under the length of the _Executor_ but with much more interior volume) was capable of mounting a smaller but just as powerful version of the Concave Dish Composite Beam Superlaser seen on the _Death Star_. Why the Galactic Empire didn't just build a bunch of those instead of the DS-1 _Death Star_ Orbital Battle Station is beyond me. Of course, all of that is extended uni... - I mean *Legends* now. DAMNIT DISNEY!!!
+VestedUTuber The Eclipse actually had a less powerful superlaser. It could wipe out all life on a planet, but could not destroy it outright. Although, I don't see any point in doing more than that, so yea, the death stars were overkill.
+Sayer Glasgow Overkill and a waste of resources. I recently did some research, and there's also the _Conqueror_, which is an _Imperial_-class Star Destroyer with, well, a Concave Dish Composite Beam Superlaser mounted within a split down the middle of the hull of the vessel. The weapon on this ship was capable of destroying small moons. That makes me wonder what would happen if the _Death Star_ was hit by the _Conqueror_'s superlaser. I mean, the _Death Star_ is pretty much a small artificial moon...
VestedUTuber Death star is made of armor grade metal, moon is made of rock, and the death star has shields. So it would probably survive a hit or two from that.
Thank u, Thank u, Thank u ! I cant thank u enough. I love this in depth analyzing vids. We get to learn more of the story and the hardware. Keep up the good work ! =)
A long long long time ago there was such thing called the harrower class star destroyer. Used by the sith empire, this model was used in their conquest of the Galaxy.
*continues writing notes* Dear Lord Vader... Today I learned that the Empire is even better than I once thought. We've got those Rebel Terrorists on the run! -Your faithful Trooper (Though not of the 501st Legion) TK 756
I want to see a video talking about how these things are built i.e. Where they're built how long it takes what materials are used and how heavy they could be
Dear Captain Shack, This is a random request but I was hoping that you would Take another look at X rebirth when Home of Light expansion comes out in a few days. If you like what they have done to fix the game please put up a video. I didn't like the game when it first came out like so many others but the dedication EgoSoft has had to fix this game is just amazing and should at the very least be recognized for it.
+The Loyal Tenno Loki To be highly specific the two bridge design was due to the Venator having too many fighters for a single bridge to command and still control the ship. Thus they added a second bridge to hold fighter command while the first bridge was used to control the ship. This meant that the both could focus on their own job and not need to share space. In other words what they said.
Being a big fan of BFG I find it adorable that 1.6K is considered 'large' for a ship. Standard Imperial escorts can be larger than that, and they are the smallest and most numerous serving ship classes! Although, to be fair, star wars has never really stood a chance against 40K in a straight up space battle.
No, The Imperator-class Star Destroyer simply serves as the Empire's most common multi-purpose vessel. In the movies, they simply served as escorts or patrol ships. The Star Dreadnoughts like the Executor would be the battleships.
Great vid, though you left out the Secutor-class Star Destroyer. The only issue I see now is that they continuously show the ISD class in a planets atmosphere which it shouldn't be doing. that job was left to the Victory I you show which could only enter the upper lvls of the atmosphere, and the Victory II being more for ship to ship combat. Though I go with your specialized model of the Imperial Class for the ones we see in Rebels, as their bridge structure are far different from the Imperial I and then later Imperial II Class we see in the films.
you forgot to mention the sith empires star destroyers and the origin of the design due to KOTOT and SWTOR being cannon now it was in the movie for an extra tidbit of info
+DrMattsuu im pretty sure kotor is not considered as canon its stil under "legends" on wookiepedia and from what ive heard the only things that are canon are the films and clone wars show and that shitty new show and the books based around it
luke V Yeah as far as I was aware Lucasarts & Disney we're explicit over what was canon. SWTOR and KOTOR were not part of that list. Shitty new show? You mean rebels? I recommend it - it's *almost* as good as clone wars... which I also enjoyed.
DrMattsuu cant get past how bad the animation looks >.> clone wars was okay but with disneys money they couldnt make it look at the very least as good as the clone wars?
Евгения Ремезова oh ships from kotor? fucking thousands of years in future? suuuuurrrrreeeeeeeee not to mention that disney has said they will take things from extended universe without making the source canon theyve said this
Impressive numbers... Though, many lego star wars games made me believe that some good shots at these very destroyable bubbles on top of the bridge were enough to well.. Make the class of the vessel sound ironic.
1:45 - either that's an incredibly tiny planet, or the ship being built in the forground is a lot, lot bigger than a standard ISD. Or the artist has no sense of scale. :)
Regardless of how they are portrayed, I am empire all the way, they were portrayed terribly in the squeal trilogies about how underrated they were but I just love them for their awesome fleet :D
B-Wing holocron would be sweet. X-wings and A-wings, have a relatively well-known Incom and acrobatic roots. B-Wing/Y-Wing holocrons would be much appreciated.
Great video on the star destroyer history, can't for of the star wars lore. I have video topic you could do, its about what happen to the clone troopers after order 66.
It must be embarrassing that a fleet of these super battleships were beaten by a smaller force of Rebel ships mostly of vessels modified to become cruisers.
There is more metal available in an average sized asteroid in our asteroid belt between mars & Jupiter than all the metal we have ever mined here on earth! Potentially, we could EASILY build an imperial fleet!👍
Rebels makes everything look stupid weird by elongating the necks on everything. the elongated neck of the SD bridge superstructure looks just plain goofy.
+Robert Weston Its actually based on some of the original concept art for A New Hope.
Concept art is just the damn rough draft
Cool Bra I suppose, but it's hard to take seriously with the shows dumb art style
Get it goofy XD cause Rebels is owned by Disney
How DID you retrieve those Archive Data anyways?
The 501st destroyed the archives before anyone could grab thus archives
(Roleplaying Intensifies)
+MCPro Azka While that may be true in star wars battlefront 2 I feel that most of the expanded universe agrees that the emperor wanted that archives intact. mean to express it in that way, I just thoroughly enjoyed the book. Sorry if you dont think so.

+TheTacticalCucumber Indeed! Its a really enjoyable book. The audio book is done incredibly well. I love the extra effort to add in the sound effects.
+TheXPGamers Cpt. Shack, oh boy, indeed it was a superb book, the sound effects alone immersed you into Thane and Ciena's world within the Star Wars universe. The conquerer Imperial class Star destroyer is awesome, really like the design.

+VestedUTuber He literally read it off the wiki
+Royce Gondo
So did I, though I didn't paste it word for word.

Captain, are you ever planning on continuing this series? I think it would be much loved!
Well done Captain!!
Love this kind of thing. More please.
this is a great series keep up the good work
these are really great keep making them
Love the story and the way you talk about it ;)

Captain Shacks next Space engineers build should be an Immobilizer
Why is the Republic venator star destoryer has 2 bridges or heads?
+The Loyal Tenno Loki One bridge was ship command, the other fighter command.
+The Loyal Tenno Loki 1 to command the ship the other for fighter command

Any ETA for the next one? I like this series! We need a dedicated star wars lore series out there!
Well hope we can see more of space engineers I really enjoy it since I have Mac which is broken
Long live the Sith!
Speaking as a defector of the empire the Bladewing or b-wing if you prefer was designed so it would be a pain for a TIE Pilot to get a target lock.
That... Was epic.
Hey there Captain Shack big fan of the channel I was just wondering if you were going to do a let's play of Sins of the Prophets?
Now I want to play SWG again.. god I miss that game
What a great video!
Love how they used a Space Engineers model.
Great vid, though you left out the Secutor-class Star Destroyer.

Awesome idea, man ^_^
Well, if you don't want the cockpit to rotate, try our new Kom'rk class Mandalorian Fighter, everything but the cockpit moves!
Where did you get the footage at 2 min 45 seconds from. Huge star wars fan but never seen something like that before!!!
+James Lewis The force unleashed 2
Impressive numbers... Though, many lego star wars games made me believe that some good shots at these very destroyable bubbles on top of the bridge were enough to well.. Make the class of the vessel sound ironic.
Great video
I know that the Venator isn't the best ship but it's my favorite out of all the capital ships in Star Wars
1:45 - either that's an incredibly tiny planet, or the ship being built
in the forground is a lot, lot bigger than a standard ISD.
Or the artist has no sense of scale. :)
It's back
you guys need to use that new live camera mod that just came out and try communicating with morph if possible.

+. Its posted every Saturday morning.
There is more metal available in an average sized asteroid in our asteroid belt between mars & Jupiter than all the metal we have ever mined here on earth! Potentially, we could EASILY build an imperial fleet!👍
Shack, didn't an ISD carry only 48 tie fighters? Weren't The others 12 tie bombers and 12 tie boarding craft?
I read somewhere that a full TIE wing is 72 fighters. Maybe that just includes misc. support craft like Bombers, scouts, etc?
+David Gunson It varies based on whatever source your looking at honestly.
