Thanks for the comparison! Definitely helpful seeing the brightness difference. I'd be curious to see how the diffusers do on both cameras in comparison.
Hi there I've got a quick question did you use the filters on both lights or did you not use the filters on the test? cheers keep up the good work great videos 😎
The light mod is just the Litra Zeus Mini rebranded as a GoPro. The Litra Torch and the Litra Pro are much better options. I prefer the Litra system to the Lume Cube because they have a wide range of accessories for the lights that offers more creative options, including a nifty little softbox, honeycomb, colored filters, mounts etc.
As you say and show in your video the GoPro light comes on and off very easily. That's the one thing that worries me...there is no lockdown ring to secure it well to the cold shoe. Every other small light for sale uses a mount with lockdown ring. That is especially import and on an action camera. If feel like I'll have to ad 2 small drops of epoxy to the back of the light mount to keep it attached to the cold shoe, basically just leaving it attached to the mod cage all the time, otherwise I would always worry about losing the light during bumpy activity.
Nice 1. Personally for what id use it for. Id buy the gopros light. Smaller. Cant stand something as big as the camera its self. Other things for super specialist reasons. Cos who really records in pitch black?
My son is an 100 mile untra runner. He has to run through pitch Black Forest in the middle of the night and records his journey off and on. So brighter would probably be needed for him.
I'm a newbie and I have a question. First of all I haven't even used my Pro go camera at all yet. And I've heard some talk about filters when they're using the GoPro about colors and this and that. So far I've only been taking pictures and I plan on using my cell phone also for videos maybe one day I definitely want to use my GoPro for videos. Here is my question right now it's just for my cell phone but with all the talk about filters for GoPro I'm wondering if it's about the same answer maybe. My question is when I take a picture of my cats or of myself looking at myself the color is off what I mean by that is one of my cat is a cream color with Tabby markings but on camera he looks Orange and he is not Orange he is white chested cream beige / very light tan. And when I want to take a selfie when I'm looking at myself on my camera my coloring is not the coloring I want. It's very cool and bright and my skin looks more white instead of the color it normally looks in my home. On your video I just watched I don't think I'd go with that bigger light because it's too bright I think I'd stay with the GoPro little light because I just don't like super bright light. So with me getting super bright whiter looking colors that aren't even the same colors of the item that I'm taking a picture of like I said my cat or myself with my cell phone I'm afraid that also might happen when I start using my GoPro 8 and if so does that mean I need to buy filters or something for it. I hope you understand what I'm talking about. I hope you do get to read my comment or anybody else reads my comment and knows what I'm talking about somebody can you please help me how do I fix the coloring mess around with it. Thank you so much for reading everybody have a good day.
Topaz Rogers do you have an iPhone? If you do you can use the GoPro app to download your video and go to your photos app and then press edit and you can change certain things.if you want anymore tho you have to get some type off software like photoshop to fix your photos.
I was a little disappointed in them to tell you the truth. But they are better than the built-in ones. Ideally if you need good audio you will still have to connect to an external microphone
Nice review. Went with GoPro. GoPro price is right, low profile, and acceptable light quality for my needs. That said, Lume Cube has some interesting kits (higher price) that will need further review. Still, for the price difference, I could always buy a second light and mount it on the side.
Yes you can. You’ll just needs one of the flogging style frames that has a cold shoe so you can attach it. You can pick up the frames fairly inexpensively on Amazon
I've made a huge expensive mistake today. I bought the new GoPro Hero 8 Media Mod and Light Mod. However, I put the Light onto the Media Mod's top shoe facing the wrong way and now I can't get it off without breaking it or using tools. 1/5 Rating.
The original LubeCube battery was horrible, going dead within a few day - certainly on a Lithium battery. And as the saying goes, once burned - twice shy...
@@hellohogo It does offer a 3.5mm Microphone Jack, but it is also marketed as a 'shotgun' microphone. The microphones themselves are *_horrible_* GoPro should be ashamed of themselves. Some teardowns show that the microphones are the same super cheap mono mike spread 1 cm apart. They actuallt sound worse than GoPro Hero 8's internal microphones! Honestly they could've sneaked in an EDUTIGE ETM-01 and it would've been 10000x better ahaha GoPro should be renamed GreedPro - earlier models of the GOPRO HERO offered native microphone jack and HDMI output... They gradually removed features to then sell overpriced accessories that brought back those features
@Michael Siino The Hero 9 is out and so is the new H9 media mod - and guess what? Still horrible quality! They didn't even upgrade the microphones - they're still 2 Mono MEMS microphones set 1 cm apart in a cylinder - they are not truly multidirecitonal, and they sound *_WORSE_* than the H9's built in microphones. The cylinder has enough room to fit an EDUTIGE ETM-001 - honestly, they should've done that.
I can't understand why anyone would give this video a thumbs down. You literally covered every question that I had.
I wanted to pop in and say THANK YOU. I got my Hero 9 Black yesterday and the media mod today and have learned so much super fast from your videos.
Thanks for the comparison! The lume cube is bigger but did look better.
Thanks for the comparison! Definitely helpful seeing the brightness difference. I'd be curious to see how the diffusers do on both cameras in comparison.
I didn't even know GoPro had there own light. Great comparison with the Lube Cube, both have their advantages. Thanks for sharing.
Brighter is not always better though. I personally don't like to be blinded if I'm the subject. Great comparison!
Thanks for your review. Would you be able to do another one that includes these 2 and the newer Joby Beamo and Beamo Mini? Thanks in advance
This is just the perfect setup for a vlogging while ghost hunting or paranornal vlogging.. lol
Yes indeed
Nah, ghosts only come out in the dark or we would see them in the day 😂😂😂😂😂
literally why we came to this video 😂
Hi there I've got a quick question did you use the filters on both lights or did you not use the filters on the test? cheers keep up the good work great videos 😎
This looks like without as the GoPro light is a lot bluer without the diffuser.
Hi, thanks for the video, is it possible to charge both when light is on ? it's for live streaming use, thanks
Absolutely fantastic video nicely done thank you for sharing
Hi, thanks for the video. What is the case that you have the gopro in?
Thank you for the detailed comparission!

Any idea how the lume cube would work on the hero 11 with the media mod and Volta grip?
It looks like the lowest setting on gopro light mod is a bit of blue light.
Inconsistent with it's other modes.
is the cube still the most powerful light for the gopro?
I just purchased the hero 8 and the lumecube 2.0 Where you ever able to connect hero 8 within the lume cube -x app?
I was really curious about it! Oh wait, it was actually my comment that you responded =)
Lume Cube 2.0 Comparison fit in a ulanzi frame ?
How many hours does the cube give out on full blast? Cheers
According to Lunecube specs 1.5 hours at 100% brightness

Hi thanks great video, How does it connect to a GoPro hero 8 Bluetooth ?
I know its late xD but i got a hero 7 and i connect it with the app and the WLAN from the gopro using the app
Was this test done with or without the diffusers on?
I can’t quite remember this was a while ago but I do believe the diffusers were on

solid content dude, im subbed now!!
It's called overdrive mode the double press
Thanks for another great video.
Thank you

Canada ?

Best bicolor go pro light?
I mean, these are just daylight, right?
Great review!
Very good and a good value
Nice and clear 👍

@@user-rs1990 how tho.... Lights face the subject of recording lol
Good video 👍
thanks ! very helpfull !!
It's 200 lumen, not 200 lux. Lux and lumen are different measurements.
Wow thank you
Great video
Thanks bud
You tell em Squirley Dan!
Thanks for this :D
Love your flamingo :)

Just buy a good quality bike light for a fraction of the price. Haha
at the start i got a lume cube ad XDDD
that guy should be in Miami lol
Lume cube is way better
I think the light is by far the worst mod. Even a super inexpensive godox mini light is superior imo.
Have you heard the sound quality of the Media Mod? A friggin joke!
ProtoMarcus oh no, that sucks. I had just assumed it was the same as the mic adapter.
@@hellohogo It does offer a 3.5mm Microphone Jack, but it is also marketed as a 'shotgun' microphone. The microphones themselves are *_horrible_*
