If you look at Leonardo da Vinci's painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel..god reaches out and touches man's finger. If you look really close that man has a Maestro FZ-1 Fuzz Tone clutched in his other hand. So a few hours talking Fuzz pedals can not be treated lightly :-)
@@dannycarbona You are talking about the big painting in that one the guy is clenching his fist. I talking about the very small painting in the corner :-)
please feel free to make as many 20-minute videos as you need to go through every fuzz you own! I for one would happily watch an hour and a half of that but I also recognize that I'm insane.
@Not In The Box I don’t think he’s ever said anything knocking those amps. But he definitely has a thing for amps with gain. Also a lot of people know what fenders sound like (clean and loud) his channel is more about teaching people about gear than showing you his favorites all the time
Congrats! You are a natural for this format - glad you are able to support you and your family with this side of the music industry. I don't think many would have imagined 10+ years ago when UA-cam started that so much would shift to it, but you do a great job educating, and entertaining.
I yearn for the day when we can finally see an end to this slide tone war between Josh and Rhett. Far too many a string hath broken, far too many a glass, shattered.
To be serious for a moment, the way Rhett, Josh, Rick Beato, Keith Williams, Dave Onorato and others all lend their expertise to each other to make all of their channels better is an inspiration.
Hoof Reaper is great, it's my only fuzz and plenty for me. Can get some great overdrive tones with it as well, and pretty much any classic rock fuzz tones.
Congrats to you and your wife on your new home. Hopefully a nicer home than if you were a college or uni lecturer ! You taught us all loads so you well deserve it.
My favorite fuzz box is the Maestro FuzzStain. I bought this for $50 in 1978 (my SG Studio was $400 at the same time). It has a Sustain, Soft, and Hard, with a Drive selector wheel (0-10), and a Volume wheel (also 0-10) that acts like a Boost. And it has a bypass. I love the tone on this pedal and have for 43 years.
The slide tone meme between you and Josh always makes me giggle. Absolutely classic. Gotta admit that I was a fuzz naysayer when I joined the channel all that time ago. Between you and TPS, I've been converted. I now have an EHX Octavix. Into a Soul Food and then a Maxon FL301 flanger, it's the sound of the gods.
Intoxicating tones, as usual.. another great upload, Sir Rhett! Congrats on the new home/studio! If I lived locally, I'd offer to help with the move and set up.. Sending peace & love from Missouri -Todd
Huge congrats on the new home. It’s a great next step, home ownership. The deeper the roots, the sweeter the fruit. And yes, a favorites series would be appreciated and devoured.
Rhett and Tilly, congratulations on your new house. So stoked for you two. I can't wait to see the next vlog studio you will be building. I will no doubt be epic.
Congrats on the move! You probably wont see this or care, I'm a working bassist from NJ, I used to never use any sort of distortion, but after watching your videos over the last year, my ear has come to like and expect it, I use fuzz alot now, I have a Walrus Jupiter, and I have a SunFace on order. Im genuinely surprised not to see a Fuzz Face style circuit on this list. Anyways do make this a series, I'd love to see your top 5s for other effects. And, it has become a dream of mine to play/jam with you. Maybe next NAMM if you have some time?
great video on fuzz pedals, would love to see it made into a series! Also would be awesome to see a beginning to end video on setup of the studio in the new house. Congrats on the home!
Thank you for taking the time to thank us. We all appreciate the effort you make to create informative, educational, inspirational content for us guitar nuts!
I was never much into fuzz until the Red Witch Fuzz God IV. Love that dang pedal and it's made me want to dive deeper into fuzz. Congrats on the new home!
Okay Rhett, that jam for the Caroline Shigeharu Fuzz just had me straight groovin' to the point of harmonically belting out random lyric and syllable Bu11 $h1t! Woke up my GF! Hahaha! Very good stuff my dude. Within this metaphorically vast UA-cam fog of aggro "metal" content? Your vids are always like a reassuring lighthouse reminding me of my original Rock roots and influences. ✌🖖
Congrats on the new house, good luck with the move (never fun). Great video, nice idea for a series. That Earthquaker sounds awesome. Spiral makes interesting fuzzes too.
There are so many great fuzz units available now compared to when I bought my first Big Muff Pi in the early to mid 70's. One that I've been having tons of fun with lately is Walrus Audio's Kangra Filter Fuzz. Didn't make your list, but man... I'm really blown away by it! Especially flexible and versatile when using an expression pedal with it. Great for filtering other effects and for stacking gain stages. Great video and tones as always... cheers!
Please do many, many episodes like this! You have a wonderful touch and obviously know how to get great tones - there is a surprising range of sounds coming out of these pedals. I am yet to buy my first fuzz pedal other than what is onboard the MS3, I feel like my eyes have been opened here. And great news about the house!
Your channel rocks Rhett. Love your fuzz choices. Please make a comparison video of each fuzz strenghts vs the others. It will be a fuzz delight treat. Congrats on your new home enjoy life.
Nice timing. I’ve been watching this channel for a couple years. But I’ve wakened to fuzz a couple days ago. Been playing for decades, and never had a fuzz! I really want to be able to make the always-on-ride-the-volume-knob cleanup and I’m looking for the right entryway pedal
For me, my favorites are the Catalinbread Perseus (A better Blue Box), the Voodoo Labs Proctavia, and the Electro Harmonix Microsynth (when you ignore the filter sweeps and triggers, and just stick to the voices, you get an amazing noiseless parallel octave/drive/fuzz)
Congratulations on the new house! Rhett, this was a great video. Not only because I found the topic interesting, but I really enjoyed your playing on this video. Wow! How about a video like this on analog delays?
"talking about fuzz for an hour and a half wouldn't work for UA-cam"
That Pedal Show entered the chat.
They can do an hour on just one boost pedal. Some say crazy..I say that's entertainment.
@@mattgilbert7347 damn right. Probably my favorite two guitar nerds on UA-cam.

Things on Rhett’s “you can never have too many…” list:
1) Fuzz pedals
2) Novo guitars
3) Any amp that isn’t a Fender black or silver face
Missing out on those sounds
You don’t like Jerry or srv or allman bros?
Fender Blue JR is a good amp for pedals
Black panel Fenders are my favorite, just not what Rhett seems to gravitate towards, hence the way the comment is structured.
@Not In The Box I don’t think he’s ever said anything knocking those amps. But he definitely has a thing for amps with gain. Also a lot of people know what fenders sound like (clean and loud) his channel is more about teaching people about gear than showing you his favorites all the time
That laugh at 5:00 is exactly why everyone should own at least one fuzz. They're raw, crazy and pure joy to play around with.
Can’t believe your sola sound bender didn’t make the cut. Literally the best sounding fuzz I’ve heard you play. Ever.
if this was a promo for that beetronics pedal, well done because im sold
That sounded the best to me too.
"All Time Favorite," is for sure a series I'd be interested in watching
Rhett is such a guitarist that he turns the bass down in the mix even when he’s playing the bass 😂 Love your videos dude
Congrats! You are a natural for this format - glad you are able to support you and your family with this side of the music industry. I don't think many would have imagined 10+ years ago when UA-cam started that so much would shift to it, but you do a great job educating, and entertaining.
Sounding huge as always Rhett! ✌🏻🤘🏻
We need a collab between you two!!
@@maxchristofferson I agree
Thanks man!!
Awesome guitarists !!
Collab coming?
I guess it’s testament to my geekdom that the thing I choose to comment on is your fabulous impression of Josh, well done!
I was ready for this to be a mini-series. PLEASE do!!!!! Love from Akron. HOME OF EARTHQUAKER. (best pedals ever)
I yearn for the day when we can finally see an end to this slide tone war between Josh and Rhett. Far too many a string hath broken, far too many a glass, shattered.
I hope the war never ends. It makes me laugh - I know it's all just a nerdy joke.
To be serious for a moment, the way Rhett, Josh, Rick Beato, Keith Williams, Dave Onorato and others all lend their expertise to each other to make all of their channels better is an inspiration.
Only the chosen one can bring balance to the world: Derek Trucks.
So your favorite pedals of all time just came out a few months ago. This sounds like an advertisement
Love the summary and demos. Dig the idea of a “favorites” series. And congrats on the house!
Congrats on the new house!!!
I'd love to see a series. Cheers!
I love how you make the video so entertaining to watch, good job😁
What amazing sounds and songs. This was one of those videos where it was all about the playing and listening.

20 minutes dedicated to my favorite effect from one of my favorite players? Yes please

@@discobunny4eva759 I've since added a Deluxe Big Muff Pi to the arsenal. Really, really enjoying its flexibility.
That Fuzz Factory (CBA) was huge!!!!!!!!! Great vid..!
So glad that I tuned into this video, cuz the slow burns through fuzzies and timies are my JAM, and you nailed that shit so nicely.
You always have the coolest guitars! And I love everything I've heard from BeeTronics
I LOVE YOUR CONTENT! PLEASE DONT STOP UPLOADING- ITS HELPING ME DURING MY REHAB
Love the Favourite thing. Please make that a series!

thanks for taking one step back from the camera so it doenst feel creepy when i watch your videos. also your fuzz tone in this videos is amazing
Ce sont les sons la fuzz!! .... félicitations pour la nouvelle maison, Tilly et Rhett
Yes please Rhett! Make it a series! And about the home and the new studio, YOU DESERVE IT!
Love your reaction at 18:33 or so. It's as if you think the pedal is about to leap at you, spitting fuzz like a wounded alley cat.
Huge congrats on the new home. It’s a great next step, home ownership. The deeper the roots, the sweeter the fruit. And yes, a favorites series would be appreciated and devoured.
LOVE Beetronics!
Have the Swarm and the Royal Jelly.
Vezzpa sounds like a must have. Put me on the list. Sounds phenomenal!
Great vid and playing Rhett as always. Congrats to you and your wife and the new home !!!
Congrats on your new home Rhett, we all love you bro !!
Killer tones! Fuzz makes you smile, man! The tracks sound inspired! Hell, I’m inspired to explore more fuzz...
I was a drive guy before I know my first fuzz...fuzzes are very expressive!
The mystery blip 18:34: Rhett's reaction cracked me up.
Congrats on the new house... and love the video. Any time folks can talk Fuzz pedals it makes for a good video
Great Post! I think I could watch a whole hour of Fuzz! Over drives, echoes...great idea for a Series

A series? Yes please. My next 5 favorite fuzz pedals part 1, part 2, part 3 ... All you need is Fuzz, Fuzz is all you need. (TPS tm)
Bliss Factory nails the Gary Clark Jr tone. Nice demo. Opened up my ears to new possibilities in the world of fuzz.
Yup, I like this format. Keep it going. Top 5 Vibes in the future. Congrats on the new home.

"My top 5 favorite new houses!", only if he gets like 5M new subscribers, lol.
The Mythos - Golden Fleece and the
Royal Jelly - Beetronics are my two favourite fuzz pedals of all time.
Indeed!!! 🙌
Thanks Rhett, this is a great selection of fuzz pedals. Keep these videos coming.

Fairfield Circuitry's Unpleasant Surprise is ridiculously underrated and is my personal favourite.
Love hearing your pedal picks, they're always good but different from a lot of the stuff we usually see on UA-cam!
"Test board of Science." Hmmm got a bit of Josh Scott in my Rhett Shull.

Nice choices. Grwat job demoing these. I love Fuzz pedals. Just made one under Might Be Famous and happy we did. Great sound!

My favorite fuzz is the Musket by Blackout Effectors. It's a "smooth fuzz" though they made a gnarlier version called the Blunderbuss.
Blunderbuss is a fav of mine!!!! Never selling that one!!!!
