Rainger FX Dr. Freakenstein Chop Fuzzz Dude that one is the sickest to me...sounds like it comes with a panther under the hood. Brilliant fuzz shoot-out!
Great demo. Getting to hear all these back to back with no other backing tracks or distractions actually really changed my opinions on quite a few (and confirmed my biases on others).
When people get rich, they usually start collecting vintage cars or shits like this. The day I make bank, I'll start the biggest Fuzz collection ever. It's a part of musical culture that needs to be preserved.
Love it. One thing I. have learned over the years is that there are a few unique pedal, but you can pretty much get a great sound from almost all of them if you tweak them.
I listened blindfolded and paused when one stood out. So many sounded the same, but almost all were great. The Chop Fuzz and MAE ones stood out to me as the most interesting. The Harmonic Percolator clones seemed a little more distortion than fuzz, but I do like that sound anyway. Many of these just sucked the high-end right out and that was more surprising/jarring hearing them right after the bright ones. Badass video overall . I'm glad someone did it. A+ on the riff choice, as just slamming power chords wouldn't give away the full flavor of each.
The biggest troll was putting THAT pedal first 😂. That’s fuzz nirvana. I have a few different fuzzes and my favorite by far is the fallout cloud. I usually hit it with a tad more bass and sustain than you did here. Gives it that smoooootttthhhh sound 😂
Nice job. Honorable mentions to the Electro Harmonix OpAmp "Pumpkin", the Fuzzly Bear, the Cloven Hoof, the Hizumitas, and the every so cheap but incredibly gnarly Behringer Super Fuzz SF300.
Being a Tonebender/Fuzzface dude that currently has a Chase Tone 68' Red Velvet on his board, I like the sound of the Park Fuzz Sound by Earthquaker, and the Crom from Caroline (that had massive girth and good clarity without too much intrusive oscillation). Cheers for taking the time.
Literally the most useful fuzz demo I've ever seen. Each of these gave just enough of a taste to spark your interest to investigate further if you liked the core tone of any of these pedals. If you have the opportunity to do this with another type of effect it would be awesome. Subscribed :)
Great video! I'd like to see a series in this form of playing unit after unit, in comparison, across multiple types of effects, like flange, phase, or even Wah pedals.
It's interesting how different they treat the lows, especially cause the riff starts with a low. I could be blown away by the lows when the riff starts, and then hear the highs aren't great, or the mid is too scooped, or it doesn't do polyphony for shit. Some of them have a meaty low, that only shows up on some strings. Love the vid... If I had any money, I'd be broke.
Faves: Green Russian, VS Audio Pandora, Vaderin Cherry, Thorpy Fallout Cloud. Best name: Fiddy for an Ounce, even though that’s not my thing…. First time I actually welcomed an advert in the middle. Sorta served as a palette cleanser…. And this video is a reminder that I haven’t watched Lost in Translation in a few months. I’m due.
Wow!! Amazing work, all sound quite cool, I really enjoyed the design too. it is just sad that the SF300 from Behringer does not appear. Thank you very much for this.
That was epic! I never tired of that riff for one second. So good and it’s still going in my head and will be there tomorrow too I bet. Impossible for me to pick a favourite. I really dig those deep warm muffled sounds but then get exited when a bright sputtery ripper comes on. Now I’m going to get out my fuzz pedals and make a riff loop!
Great video. I was just talking about doing something similar with my small collection of 50 something fuzz/distortion/overdrive pedals.... surprising only a couple overlapping pedals. 🤟😎🎸🤙
My top 5 not in any specific order: Russian Green Muff, Hawaiian Pizza, Red Muck, ~900 fuzz, Tape audio One. Thank you for the amazing shootout! Ps. I need thank you especially for using the amp that I also have on this video
That was fun. Hadn't heard of most of these! The only fuzz i own that you tested was the Park. I've also got JHS Bender and a Keeley Fuzz Bender, not included.
The Earthquaker Bit Commander for me, please. One Ton Bee was cool. Flannel Overdriver sounded the most musical. Watching the Lil Pig skittering around on the table lets us know that things were turned to just the right amount of room filling sound.
Nice one. Some companies I haven't heard of yet, with some killer pedals. I can't afford to watch this video! In no particular order, these are the kinds of fuzzies I like: Mask Audio No, EQD Park, Spaceman Charon, Weird Noise What the Fuzz, Emerald Ox Kronos, Vaderin Radio Dirtman, Thorpy Fallout Cloud, Fowl Sounds Flannel, Smallsound Bigsound Mini, Land Devices HP-2, and of course the Big Muff. Also, you inspired me to make a cheap-ass version of this video with 7 pedals. 🤘
The Mattoverse followed by the Rat was the most interesting moment probably, they are at the extreme sides of the tonal spectrum, total mangling vs classic rock sound that sits well in a mix. I also imagine that some of these pedals like the Fuzz Factory or the Bit Commander may be capable of much more extreme and peculiar sounds but they are in a somewhat "classic" setting here.
Thank you so much for posting this! I would love to have this as a sound board or something, so that I could A/B all of the EQD or whatever dirt pedals to my hearts content. I am pleasantly surprised at how consistently great the MAE pedals were.
Just thinkin about another fuzz and its nice to see that some of my faves seem to sound best to me.... Maybe, shigeharu.... Pigpile is sadly hard to find.... Urla is cool too and its from italy, so no taxes and customs when they ship to germany
Very nice video! Kinda was expecting behringer somewhere at the end, just bcs i like them) What i got from that video is that you really can''t go wrong with any of this pedals. But I've especially liked a bit cleaner\transparent type, where you can hear higher and lower notes played)
What do my favorites from this sounds sample say about me? - MAE Parts Garden GE & Black Math - SSBS Mini - Electrofoods Pigpile & Lil Pig - Spaceman Sputnik III - Caroline Hawaiian Pizza & Crom - ProCo Rat - ThorpyFX Fallout Cloud
This is one of the greatest gear videos of all time
I liked the one with fuzz
Turned the video off when I heard that one
What about that other one? I think it was a fuzz?
Which one was that? I thought they were all clean tones ... ;)
The first 70 were the clean tone.
@@HazeAnderson that narrows it down
Man, I can't get over the first pedal!!
same here❤
Sounds suspiciously like a superfuzz
This is going to become a new chapter in the Stoner Rock and Doom Metal Bible
It’s amazing how many of them are just Russian big muffs and creamy dreamer muffs. Love some of the unique ones though.
I love the riff and i like all the tones ! Smashing Pumpkins vibes 90's :)
This riff is now part of my Soul !
All those who listened to the entire demo will be bonded well beyond the afterlife
Such a perfect riff for this!
Come for the different pedals, stay for the oddly meditative vibe
All fuzzes are beautiful
That "NO." pedal hits hard. Great demo!!
This riff is incredible
LOVE how you used a riff just over 10 seconds long so I can double tap the playback and skip to the next pedal
This was great! They all sound great in their own way but I loved the original Russian Green Muff as well as Jam’s Russian Fuzz. Nice work!!!!
thanks, what an effort! That Earthquaker Park has something unique, big, smooth
JHS: Makes switchback for pedal shootouts
Noise Gen: Hold my XLR cable
Is this heaven?
Rainger FX

Dude that one is the sickest to me...sounds like it comes with a panther under the hood.
Brilliant fuzz shoot-out!

Tone Bender for the win.

Russian Big Muff for me! Awesome video!
0xEAE Fuzz and SSBS Mini are the best for me. Thanks for the Video!
When people get rich, they usually start collecting vintage cars or shits like this. The day I make bank, I'll start the biggest Fuzz collection ever. It's a part of musical culture that needs to be preserved.
LOL :)
Have you seen the "The Largest Guitar Pedal Collection" video?
This is amazing! As a fuzz afficionado myself I was expecting to know most of these but I hardly knew a handful. Great work and great riff!
Love it. One thing I. have learned over the years is that there are a few unique pedal, but you can pretty much get a great sound from almost all of them if you tweak them.

Good times! Thanks for putting in the work. MAE kept grabbing my attention. No DBA was a surprise. Hearing the SSBS Mini go all fuzz was great.
I've let go of a few DBA pedals over the years and always regretted it! Definitely need to get a couple back in the collection
Sweet riff and great job on the video, cheers!
So enjoyable. Loved all the wild/weird pedals and checking out the pedal art work
Genuinely incredible effort
I really liked the Benson Stonk Box and the Fairfield Circuitry Unpleasant Surprise
Where are BOSS Fuzzes ?
The greatest fuzz review video of all time, thanks fo the time it took to put that together.
I am going to listen this on a loop.
Perfect from start to finish!
RBMK, 0xEAE, and the Laser 1 were all gorgeous imo
Completely agree. Would also throw the Mask Audio fuzzes in there too (especially the Maybe and the No) and the EQD Park fuzz.
Awesome video, thank you. I'm kind of amazed that I own 3 fuzz pedals and not one of them are in these 71.
Same
As well as great sounds, there are some amazing graphics too. Great video
this is the perfect amount of fuzz, thank you for your service
Nice job. Honorable mentions to the Electro Harmonix OpAmp "Pumpkin", the Fuzzly Bear, the Cloven Hoof, the Hizumitas, and the every so cheap but incredibly gnarly Behringer Super Fuzz SF300.
Those were some wild pedal names. I think I may have liked seeing that as much as hearing all the different sounds.
Yes! Those were my picks as well.
killer riff awesome video thank u for doin this rad work
Do you know if this riff is from a song
Enjoyed the sputnik and super ram especially. But the whole video is a best of compilation. Thanks

Nicey riff ... now I have a fuzzy earworm crawling in my brain.
Epic!! Great collection, wow.
It's interesting how different they treat the lows, especially cause the riff starts with a low. I could be blown away by the lows when the riff starts, and then hear the highs aren't great, or the mid is too scooped, or it doesn't do polyphony for shit.

And this video is a reminder that I haven’t watched Lost in Translation in a few months. I’m due.
I'm gonna go jam this riff with my Fuzz pedals now :D
Wow!! Amazing work, all sound quite cool, I really enjoyed the design too. it is just sad that the SF300 from Behringer does not appear. Thank you very much for this.
Great sampling, and a really great riff to demonstrate the vibe of each of these Fuzz. It’s mind boggling to see how many are out there?
That was epic! I never tired of that riff for one second. So good and it’s still going in my head and will be there tomorrow too I bet. Impossible for me to pick a favourite. 🤟😎🎸🤙
Favs; OxEAE Fuzz, 90s Russian Big Muff, Caroline Shigeharu, Thorpyfx Fallout Cloud
Fantastic! So many I never heard of. Just got the Kronos for a $100!
My top 5 not in any specific order: Russian Green Muff, Hawaiian Pizza, Red Muck, ~900 fuzz, Tape audio One. Thank you for the amazing shootout! Ps. I need thank you especially for using the amp that I also have on this video
Woah epic!
Almost all of them sound great - and the other ones would be great in certain contexts
The air trash is awesome!!!
That was fun. Hadn't heard of most of these! The only fuzz i own that you tested was the Park. I've also got JHS Bender and a Keeley Fuzz Bender, not included.
Awesome compilation, missing here the Lovetone Big Cheese and Dreadbox Disorder
The Thorpy Field Marshal is actually sort of a MKII of the Big Cheese! It was designed with Dan Coggins from Lovetone
@noisegenerator I didn't know that, thanks, I'll check it out
Very cool! The Black Math, Vaderin, and flannel OD were my favorites.
The Earthquaker Bit Commander for me, please. One Ton Bee was cool. Flannel Overdriver sounded the most musical. Watching the Lil Pig skittering around on the table lets us know that things were turned to just the right amount of room filling sound.
fortunately....it is a solid riff....thanks for that.
I think I need to buy a Fuzz pedal now😀. Great video!
Maestro Fuzz tone is the best!
Nice one. Some companies I haven't heard of yet, with some killer pedals. I can't afford to watch this video!

Thank you for helping me discover that germanium fuzzes aren't my thing!
Great job! The Rat, The Flannel Overdriver and Lil Pig were my favourites!
I had the exact same favs. Literally googled the Flannel overdriver right after
@jessegilbert515 Hehe! 😃 Cool! Awesome sounding pedal!
Awesome video - thanks so much!
ProCo RAT (can't beat this classic sound for me)
Rainger Chop Fuzzz (love the look)
Black Mass The First Herald
Sputnik III
Russian Big Muff

To me the Fairfield Circuitry ~900 Fuzz sounded killer.

Im a pleeb apparently.
My faves were the BMP-NYC ; Hawaiian Pizza ; Rat ; and the Crom
This has to be the first video i've watched in its entirety in years
Brilliant thank you
A time stamp would be a bonus to this vid. Thanks!
Just added some time stamps!
Still my favorite the Big Muff 80's V6 with clean headroom amp.
Very nice video! Kinda was expecting behringer somewhere at the end, just bcs i like them)
What i got from that video is that you really can''t go wrong with any of this pedals. But I've especially liked a bit cleaner\transparent type, where you can hear higher and lower notes played)
Hats off for the huge amount of work👍👍👍
That was simple and awesome!
Bloody brilliant!
The super ram sound awesome
Seriously surprised they weren’t sued by ehx for that pedal art
difinitely the BEST ,!
The one called Air Trash was different. That one was at least SOMETHING new.
based
Amazing to see and hear so many fuzzes and yet I have none of them, even though I have owned at least 40 and still have 30 or so.
What do my favorites from this sounds sample say about me?
- MAE Parts Garden GE & Black Math
- SSBS Mini
- Electrofoods Pigpile & Lil Pig
- Spaceman Sputnik III
- Caroline Hawaiian Pizza & Crom
- ProCo Rat
