When people get rich, they usually start collecting vintage cars or shits like this. The day I make bank, I'll start the biggest Fuzz collection ever. It's a part of musical culture that needs to be preserved.
Great demo. Getting to hear all these back to back with no other backing tracks or distractions actually really changed my opinions on quite a few (and confirmed my biases on others).
I listened blindfolded and paused when one stood out. So many sounded the same, but almost all were great. The Chop Fuzz and MAE ones stood out to me as the most interesting. The Harmonic Percolator clones seemed a little more distortion than fuzz, but I do like that sound anyway. Many of these just sucked the high-end right out and that was more surprising/jarring hearing them right after the bright ones. Badass video overall . I'm glad someone did it. A+ on the riff choice, as just slamming power chords wouldn't give away the full flavor of each.
Love it. One thing I. have learned over the years is that there are a few unique pedal, but you can pretty much get a great sound from almost all of them if you tweak them.
Thanks for this. It's a great idea to use the same rift and just play through pedals. It gives a good sample for further research, and I did find a few interested in. I liked what you did so much that I subscribed.
icl ive had a couple drinks & I’m here trying to narrow down the fuzz pedals for a shopping list and I’ve decided I like the sound of & narrowed it down to about 66 of them
this was wonderful, must have taken hours and hours! I love the spitty fuzzes with low end the most! -The Kronos -The Maybe? -The Part Garden -The Demonic Percolator -The Air Trash I think these are my favorites.
It's interesting how different they treat the lows, especially cause the riff starts with a low. I could be blown away by the lows when the riff starts, and then hear the highs aren't great, or the mid is too scooped, or it doesn't do polyphony for shit. Some of them have a meaty low, that only shows up on some strings. Love the vid... If I had any money, I'd be broke.

Being a Tonebender/Fuzzface dude that currently has a Chase Tone 68' Red Velvet on his board, I like the sound of the Park Fuzz Sound by Earthquaker, and the Crom from Caroline (that had massive girth and good clarity without too much intrusive oscillation). Cheers for taking the time.
Nice job. Honorable mentions to the Electro Harmonix OpAmp "Pumpkin", the Fuzzly Bear, the Cloven Hoof, the Hizumitas, and the every so cheap but incredibly gnarly Behringer Super Fuzz SF300.

Literally the most useful fuzz demo I've ever seen. Each of these gave just enough of a taste to spark your interest to investigate further if you liked the core tone of any of these pedals. If you have the opportunity to do this with another type of effect it would be awesome. Subscribed :)

That was epic! I never tired of that riff for one second. So good and it’s still going in my head and will be there tomorrow too I bet. Impossible for me to pick a favourite. I really dig those deep warm muffled sounds but then get exited when a bright sputtery ripper comes on. Now I’m going to get out my fuzz pedals and make a riff loop!
The Earthquaker Bit Commander for me, please. One Ton Bee was cool. Flannel Overdriver sounded the most musical. Watching the Lil Pig skittering around on the table lets us know that things were turned to just the right amount of room filling sound.
The biggest troll was putting THAT pedal first 😂. That’s fuzz nirvana. I have a few different fuzzes and my favorite by far is the fallout cloud. I usually hit it with a tad more bass and sustain than you did here. Gives it that smoooootttthhhh sound 😂
This put Mask Audio on my radar for the most interesting sounding fuzz/distortion pedals I've heard in a long time. Maybe? probably my favorite of thr bunch

Sorta served as a palette cleanser…. And this video is a reminder that I haven’t watched Lost in Translation in a few months. I’m due.
The first pedal I ever bought and used .. 46 years ago when I started my punk band, was a fuzz ... or a fuzz/wah to be precise. The fuzz was functional though unremarkable, but the open wah gave it some semblence of a mid 'voice'. Today, I use two pedal boards, depending on the type of gig/recording situation, amounting to 21 fx pedals, a few multi fx among them, and I have a box of around a dozen 'spares'. Add to that I have a Boss multfx and a newly acquired (and excellent) M-wave Cube Baby, also some other rack fx ... but not a single fuzz unit!! .... hence my interest and appreciation of this presentation. As I said earlier, my first fuzz was a fuzz/wah ... the wah adding mid voicing to the typical bass growl and somewhat thin/fragile highs. With this in mind ... maybe it's just nostalgia .. but from the 71 demos, AC Noise - URLA stood out massively with it's lovely 'throat'. I will immediately attempt to find out more about this pedal ... thanks again for your time and effort.

Really a great demo. "There's never enough fuzz." - I'm hard pressed to think of a truer statement... So much fuzz, so little time. I have three on this list, and many on this list are on my list of fuzz to acquire. I have the Land HP-2 (I'll have their new "Moonbow" in a few days), the Benson Stonk Box, and the Zvex Fuzz Factory. I almost bought the Caroline Shigeharu recently (probably will soon) and the Fairfield Unpleasant Surprise. The ridiculous part is 71 fuzzes is only "a good start".

Fairfield Circuits Unpleasant Surprise is very nice, as is the Mask Audio Eldritch Blast. That said, it's kind of wild how much some of these cost considering fuzz circuits are not that complicated.
Great comparison! I have found a lot of good fuzz pedals in your video that I like. The EHX Big Muff, JAM Red Muck, Sundance Electric OD/Fuzz and some more... I like a harmonic fuzz sounds because I use a distortion or/and overdrive in front of a fuzz and suboctave pedals after the fuzz pedal, I also playing a baritone, so the sounds are massive. Therefore I don't need a extreme fuzz pedal. At home I use the DROP/DED Hybrid Fuzz from Analogwise Pedals, the Digitech DOD Carcosa Fuzz and the Proco Rat 2. I have also found a very interesting pedal, the Russlon Fuzz from Orion Effekte... So, I have a lot of fuzz pedals on my wish list... Thank you for this video!

The Mattoverse followed by the Rat was the most interesting moment probably, they are at the extreme sides of the tonal spectrum, total mangling vs classic rock sound that sits well in a mix. I also imagine that some of these pedals like the Fuzz Factory or the Bit Commander may be capable of much more extreme and peculiar sounds but they are in a somewhat "classic" setting here.
Thank you so much for posting this! I would love to have this as a sound board or something, so that I could A/B all of the EQD or whatever dirt pedals to my hearts content. I am pleasantly surprised at how consistently great the MAE pedals were.

This was great! They all sound great in their own way but I loved the original Russian Green Muff as well as Jam’s Russian Fuzz. Nice work!!!!
