There is no bad fuzz. Every fuzz is special, every fuzz is wanted, every fuzz is loved. Every fuzz will always have a home with me.
Нехрена!
@@b6r6b6n thanks.
That makes me feel all fuzzy inside.
My cat spat up some fuzz the other day, I’ll send it over
You are so right. I have like 15 fuzz pedals. Buying more fuzzes only stopped since I got a Chase Bliss / ZVex Bliss Factory that has infinite amazing sounds. I don't even play the others anymore, but selling them feels wrong, too.
More Rabea? Don't mind if I do!
I feel like this is every guitarist's dream. Having somebody else swap out multiple fuzz pedals and tweak the knobs for you while you sit back and jam.
Actually I have such bad performance anxiety I would feel bad about boring the other guy with my playing
That would be a good service for guitar stores. Pay like 100 for an hour of someone blind switching the pedals for you. It’s a steep price but we spend that anyway paying for pedals we realize we don’t really like as much as another down the road haha
Love Rabea’s expressionless face: “wow, that’s fun”
it's ok cuz then we get 30:42
Whenever Rabea is on we get a warm and fuzzy feeling. Glad to see him back 🍻
I take it Rabea stays on?
I have a completely different feeling. Although his playing is always amazing, he looks like he really doesn't want to be there
All they need to do now is bring back Joss, and then they can have 'em both shred at the same time until our heads explode!
Pete yelling 'no one cares' kept cracking me up....😆😂
He never let the Benson light get to green. It’s got an internal thermostat that turns the led green when the germanium is at the right temp. Lame. Benson never even had a chance due to Lee’s lack of understanding. The captain just turns knobs without any clue as to what he’s doing. This has bothered me with Anderton’s demos for years.
The FZ-1W was super impressive, especially the background noise. It was night and day compared to the others.
So can’t say it’s my fav fuzz in the universe but it’s pretty awesome. It instantly was in my do not sell fuzzes. Pretty versatile, clean, and boss made.
That Swollen Pickle sounds absolutely killer, and the versatility is great too! The moment that thing came in, my ears immediately perked up. It wasn't until the Keeley Fuzz Bender came in right at the end that I felt like there was a real competitor for awesome tone. However, the Swollen Pickle's versatility put the final nail in the coffin. Can't blame Rabea one bit for preferring it. I'd love to see one on his board and find out if it dethrones some of his old favorites or not.
Rabea is on this weeks TPS show. Much talking but also lots of playing and you get to see his current board.
It found its way onto my board nearly 10 years ago, and it's been swapped out with other fuzzes many times, but I keep coming back to it - such a great fuzz!
It’s very versatile, it even sounds amazing on a 303 (acid) synthesizer.
I sold my metalzone to someone using it for techno@@_B.C_
Love the swollen pedal. Very nice fuzz that I can get so many sounds from. I'm sticking with it.
I've been using the Swollen Pickle for years. Most underrated fuzz on the planet.
Just got one for 100bucks CAD. Killer
Definitely! I had gotten the Swollen Pickle recently, too.
@@4602experience ya i got mine used for $80 CND! So inexpensive and it puts every other fuzz to shame for what I do (big thick metal tones)
@@lisaferrara8120 Nice work, enjoy!! Now you can put the rest of your fuzz pedals in that big extra pedals box in your closet lol
Weirdly I have one laying around and always found it to sound terrible, but maybe I'll plug it in and play with it more. Perhaps I just never gave it a chance.
Once again TC Electronic proving their product has no business being as great as they are at the price point they sell for 😊
Insane how Rab started as a content creator at Anderton’s to a signature artist and one of my favorite modern guitar players around.
The Big Muff is a classic for a reason. God damn that sounds good
The TC Rusty Fuzz was the dark horse in this little competition. Not the best, but for what it costs it stood up very well against the Boss Fuzz. The Tone City did well too, all things considered. Swollen Pickle definitely takes it, though.
Great fuzz. In fairness I think this is the TC series where they get some Behringer pedals (which most of they are Boss clones) and modded. So this is probably almost a FZ1 circuit 😅
Tc electronic rusty fuzz is a clone of the boss fz1, which is a clone of the fuzzface butt with a tone knob and moar volume
The FZ-1W has become my favorite fuzz. Sounds really great (little more refined and less splatty) and seems to be less affected by changes in temperature
I know what you mean - it was easily the engineer's choice for a fuzz pedal, but what about the musician's choice? Pretty good there too IMO! I'm wondering how nearly I can get to it in my Boss Katana Artist II Head...?
I freaking love it so much. It does everything I hoped an armload of other fuzz pedals would do.
maybe the FZ-1W in modern mode would have gone to the end.
I have the Fender The Pelt and it's my new favorite but boy have I toyed with the idea of an FZ-1w. Rhett Shull's video on it was great.
@@kbcarroll I've got both Fender fuzzes and while I do love the Pelt, I feel like the Boss fz-1w is easier to dial in with similar tones. The Pelt is more of a character fuzz for me (although Chris Buck's video about how it's been his secret weapon pedal for a while definitely had me using it more).
I'm really surprised about how sounds TC Electronic Rusty Fuzz! I think it has amazing tones!
I actually love the Football analogies, every one was absolutely spot on
I wonder which clubs they support @ anderton's
I love how Rabea changes his playing style to suit the tone each time Lee changes it up.
The BOSS FZ-1 is great, but picking that over the JHS 3 Series was a shock.
Why shock? I preferred Boss as well.
"no one caaaaaares!" hahahahahahah Spot on Pete!!!!
The silktone against the 3 series shows what great pedals josh can make that are still affordable
Swollen Pickle was my main gain pedal for few years. Super versatile.
Watching this at work, on break. All i can think about is going home and hitting the fuzz pedal. Hats off to Rabbea for some great riffing.
The EQD Hoof Reaper is the perfect fuzz pedal, IMO. A Muff with a mid control, a Tone Bender with a tone control, and an analog octave up in between.
Would love to see more bass versions of this! Fuzz, distortions, preamps etc. I know they take alot to put together but I'd gladly watch a 3 hour bass fuzz shootout!
It’s hard to beat an earth shattering fuzzed out bass tone 🤤
This, and/or stoner rock (c standard)
If it was a bass video, it would be 1 minute long, because the FrostGiant Bass Mountain would win.
I've watched this video 3 times. It's so awesome to hear all this fuzz played by a fantastic player!
Way Huge is killer. Imagine that. It won, and you didn't even open it up to adjust the 2 internal pots. That's how great that pedal is. Way Underrated ;)
I may be wrong but doesn't this version have them on the front? There are 5 knobs on it with 2 being very small. Or are there still 2 more inside foir a total of 7?
@@bluesthing7490 yes, there are 2 more inside for a total of 7, and they turn a great fuzz pedal into a fantastic fuzz pedal. Really.
I think more than anything, this proves that the player makes all the difference, they all sound amazing when Bea plays them. That being said, that Swollen Pickle is making me regret that I'm trying to save money
love these blind shootouts. Please keep doing them!
Almost an hour of Rabea playing fuzz pedals? Yes please!
just watched almost an hour of someone else experimenting with pedals... loved every second, thanks Andertons!
I think it’s pretty impressive that the Boss FZ-1w can hang with the best of them. I absolutely love it. A Boss fuzz. Crazy.
Really like these rapid-fire style pedal videos, excellent comparisons between a bunch of different stuff. Really interesting.
"here, try the Big Muff, on the worst possible setting"
Each time he dismissed the Big Muffs it was because the tone was all the way up lol.
Love how Rabea just play to any pedal you throw at him!
Apparently back in the 70's, most guitarists preferred a big muff.
Some of us still do.
A lot of modern guitarists like John Frusciante, Dan Auerbach, Jack White and Billy Corgan also use them and they’re all reasons why I own one (aside from David Gilmour as well)
Not like they had a lot of choices though. Back then it was a Fuzz Face, a Bender, or a Muff.
The Venus by Gillette wasn't a thing until the 90s
@@sebastiangomez5068 I’m glad someone else has a mind like me 🤣🐱
Now we’re talking!
Rabea and fuzz is a perfect mix.
Thank you for making these types of videos. It helps show people like me who are new to pedals, the differences between them. I ordered my first pedal today, the Swollen Pickle. It's the best fit for my stoner rock needs.
This is a good way to sort out these pedal shootouts. At least you don't have to remember the sound of 10 pedals on the fly....
This is the longest YT video I've ever watched. And I have no regrets. You guys rock!
This video is fantastic!! Id love to see more of these!! Bea is such a good player, and I like how there is less back and forth between Cap'n and Bea, this is all about sounds and choosing what Bea prefers. More of these please!!
Y’all play the best games !!! Love it
Rabea is such an awesome player. Joy to watch....
The Way Huge came over the best on this occasion...sounded just like the name implies and had an organic quality too....great stuff..!!.
Really like this new format. I don't generally like fuzz pedals, but this kept me watching!
The Way Huge Swollen Pickle has two more controls inside to help set the sound to your personal rig. Nothing has not been thought of. At $150.00 USD it is hard to beat.
I love this series of videos, keep them coming!
Definitely happy to see the Big Muff on, even though it only lasted one round it's still been one of my absolute favourite pedals and I still remember buying my first one when I was 16 because my band at the time was doing a Smashing Pumpkins song and I wanted to get a closer sound since that's what Billy Corgan played. I also got into the pedal because of guys like David Gilmour, Jack White and Dan Auerbach but it's also just a good additional flavour of distortion, I still use mine a lot as well as the smaller Ram's Head version I bought a few months ago just because I wanted to have a smaller version for my pedalboard (plus the Ram's Head was the one David Gilmour used)
That Rusty Fuzz is nice! I gotta get me one of those.
It is a steal at $50.00 USD :-)
Never stop the footie analogies, Captain! If for no other reason than it confuses everyone else.
I love these videos! You guys create some real suspense, and the finale is always a nailbiter. Fun stuff!
Great to have Rabea back. The pickle has now set my gas off big time!
The Boss FZ-1 sounds awesome!!!
That was huge fun guys. I'm happy to say I ordered a Keeley Fuzz Bender earlier this week and I'm looking forward to it. Sounded like one of the better of the bunch.
Swollen Pickle is my long time fav fuzz. It has even more control knobs inside the housing (smooth or open fuzz and increase dB of mid-scoop intensity), just FYI... :)
Would have liked to see a semi final challenge before revealing the winner, between the FZ-1W, the JHS, and the Swollen Pickle. The JWS seemed to have the most versatility, while the other 2 were just really great. Great video though! Makes me interested in trying the JHS.
The whole 3 line of JHS pedals is unbelievably good value.
For 99 bucks it's a huge value. Really solid fuzz, lots of tones
"you weren't too fond of the muff" ...chooses a muff as the winner lol
But its a way better muff lol
@@sidween way better Muffs are ALWAYS good!
Two Bea videos in one day is a very good day indeed (Thanks That Pedal Show!)
So nice to see Rabea back on our screens- welcome back dude
I love the big muff pi I have on a clean channel but it takes a lot of fiddling to get its sweetspot where it gives a soaring, warm fuzz without too much unwanted noise.
I don’t even subscribe to channels much but I have done it this time. your winner stays on series are really fun and has been so helpful during my pedalboard building process. I appreciate your work
Holy crap the Boss FZ-1w sounds amazing, might have to put that on my list for this year's new toys
EQD Erupter and Caroline Hawaiian Pizza are my current favourites. Rebea is a great player! This is a great format. More please!
I think I have a man crush on Rabea, one of the best guitar related creators to watch on UA-cam, and an absolute beast of guitar player!
Been using the Keeley for a couple years now after going thru lots of fuzz pedals. Love it.
I'm over here willing Rabea to keep the fz-1 in the game.
What a great set lf videoes these are. And one of my favorite guitar players as well ❤ Merry Christmas
One of the best shoot outs. It always surprises me that the more "Affordable" pedals all do very well when matched against the big boys.
My mission is to build a Boss pedal board. IMO you can't go wrong with a Boss Pedal, really well made, great sounding and well priced.
How about an FA Cup style shoot out. Draw pedals out the hat and play down to a final pair.
Pickle is godly, especially in an already driven signal. Plus you can make it sound like a hm2 😊
I always recommend the Keeley Fuzz Bender as a great starting fuzz, it just doesn't make a bad sound.
Obviously a huge number of pedals were not included, but I really like my KMA fuzz pedals with the Chief Disruptor on my board at the moment.
They all sound great. Different but great.
swollen pickle has been a fav for years this was cool to see
I got the Swollen Pickle MK3 a few years ago. It is like a rhino wearing armour! If you pair it with a Keeley Filaments Pedal then tectonic plates start to shift......!
After watching many other FUZZ demoes...... I had chosen the Keeley Fuzz Bender. I think it has the best versatility for my needs, and happy to know that it was thought well of here too...even though it wasn't the KING!
The Pickle has always been my favorite fuzz.
Perfect 60s Clapton fuzz.
I like the chrome BIG MUFF, also.
14:14 ...SQUAD DEPTH!!
-great name for a Pedal!
swollen pickle is just so good
The fuzz bender is great; I miss mine sometimes. I’ll have to check out the Swollen Pickle/Boss pedal next!
just starting to want a nice fuzz, perfect timing :)
Such a timely video. I’m after a fuzz pedal at the moment!
Yeeeeeeesssss! After a long search for my perfect Muff, I landed on the Swollen Pickle. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of Dunlops Way Huge. But I love that pickle. It is soooooo great and versatile. You can dial in every Muff every made. So good!
Just bought this pedal yesterday without seeing this video. Glad to have picked the most liked among all thoese great fuzzes!
What no Behringer Super Fuzz???
😁
Great video!!!
Great episode. Really enjoyed the winner stays on idea, prefer it actually. Must say Thorpyfx Fallout Cloud is my personal favourite fuzz.
I had that and hated it! Go figure
The way huge is a monster!❤
That way huge pickle was so good
I’m loving that FZ-1w!
This is a great idea! I hope to hear a chorus version!
Love these kind of videos !! :)
Immediate Like just for Rabea's face at the start.
By the end it's just Rabea the guitar god himself shredding for a few minutes 🙌🏼 made my day
Man, that tone city matcha cream at the cost is epic. Mr Rabea found it tricky deciding between the boss and that.
Blows me away how Rabea can make a Silver Sky look like a Squier Mini!
FZ-1W sounds really great on this vid!
Dunlop's Silicon Fuzz Face Mini is worth a shout. I keep going back to it. Also, although not a fuzz, the Earthquaker Devices Gray Channel is unbelievable, it can do fuzz like tones with ease. Been on my board since 2015 and its always an automatic take.
Absolutely love the sound of that Way Huge. For fuzz, I can't get past my Prescription Electronics Experience, although it's very based on one part cascading into the others for it's crazier sounds.
I'm pretty sure Rabea was wanting a more high-gain smooth distortion from all the pedals. All the way through, it seems he was discounting all the others from less gain and tube-like smoothness, but that is exactly what the video was about - personal preference. JHS, FZ-1w and the SIlktone all sounded beautiful to me :)
The Waza Craft pedals from BOSS are just brilliant. 100% worth the extra $$$
My favs through this are the Swollen Pickle, FZ1 and the first Big Muff. A couple of these I wouldn’t mind trying. My favorite fuzz is the Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh.
Saw the video title and 52 minute runtime and knew it would be the best video in a long time. And it was.
This was great. Please do more of these. And dare I say, I wish you would have added a few more unique fuzzes.
Happy owner of FZ-1w it is the best fuzz I've played. Sounds good in every setting. When playing with the band I am using modern mode it cuts better in the mix.For leads vintage sounds awesome. It also works great as a boost for distortion
What a gorgeous guitar
