6 days isn't nearly long enough. At least 15 days, more like a month.
Agreed
You can have fruit sit on your table that long and still be fine bread in a bag might not even get moldy after that amount the time or it would just dry up
@@KevBehindACamera Yea especially the pineapple. You could probably sleep with a pineapple next to you for two weeks and it would just be a little soft inside with some dark spots.
Also, need a control group because we have no idea how close to rotten they were when purchased

All of these foods are still relatively fresh after 6 days anyway.
If you left 7 slices of bread on the table for 5 days it would be stale, but the carrot and stuff would be fresh
idk, you leave a carrot out for a few days its gets bendy and rubbery but it broke nicely with the flex seal.
*"he just ate moldy ass bread"*
**watches video and sees literally no mold on the bread**
@@HSFarmerJoe no
Yeahh I see it kinda worked but I wanna see him wait like a month and then test the food
Most of the food you chose would have stayed fresh for 6 days even if it wasn't in a bag. Why didn't you keep a control group to compare 6 days in the open air vs 6 days in flex seal, or even better 10+ days of each?
or 3 weeks.
I thought the same thing. He should have kept them in flex seal until the control started to go bad and then compare. Carrots keep for a long time.
Thought the same, people really underestimate how long food can stay fresh for. Hope there will be a redo video with a control group and a longer waiting time.
How long do these people think food takes to get to the supermarket?
Bread and tomato likely a few days life. Apple carrot likely 6 to 12 months. Pineapple 2 weeks maybe
*hacks off finger*

Him using the sword was really making me cringe.
Of course flex seal can!

I think carrots, apples and pineapples were a bad choice only keep for 6 days. They naturally last for weeks
thats what im saying

@Immortal Android ye but u can leave apples out for weeks, ur whole thing has just been useless ified and i didnt even read it, sit down kid
@Immortal Android lmao are u buthurt cause i didnt read it kid?
Jasy Leh apples definitely don’t last for weeks at room temperature
Compare some bread left out for a month, and some bread covered in flex seal
When your $5 footlong comes out to $11- y tho
Yeah, I do not think 6 days was long enough for any of that stuff fresh fruit can sit that long in your house and still be edible and bread left out with technically just dry up before it got moldy.. but bread in flex seal should be equivalent to bread in a bag which would get moldy
@@KevBehindACamera maybe for the bread 6 days might be enough. But I know for other things it's plenty. I have left fruit like apples and other things out and in a few days they get really soft and the inside is moldy.
@@lucasg4400 for some breads. White bread, for example, last quite long.
@@lucasg4400 Apples can easily last for 2+ weeks sitting in a fruit bowl. Sure they'll change in colour but it takes way longer than 6 days for them to soften enough to be noticeable. Unless you're buying apples already weeks old?

@@protough8245 A week for a carrot, pineapple, apple and tomato is literally nothing.
@@maximecloutier1223 yes but for bread its everything lol... Tomato is iffy ive had some rot quick and others not so quick. When you take fruit ninja too seriously

next time leave them out for a month and see the results
Roronoa Zoro 5 days was not enough
Yes you could just eat a 5 day old carrot and it would be fine
How about 3 months
Apples, carrots, and pineapple all have kinda of long shelf lives without other preservation. The tomato is a soft fruit, so it goes bad quicker, but not in 6 days.
Should've waited longer
It looked like it wasn’t his first time cutting a pineapple covered in flex seal with a ninja sword

Try leaving foods for a month
but the food would naturally rot after that long anyways. there's too many variables really. he should have kept versions of the exact same carrot bread etc in the exact same conditions for this to be any kind of experiment.
@Caleb Sealey pizza is cooked. there is also the element of refrigeration to be considered which was not addressed in this video.

How could you like ketchup not tomatoes?
@@Techlifeandmore I'm a real weirdo lol. Idk just a picky eater🤷😂
I love your videos but this experiment is flawed. First off leaving them for a few days isn’t going to rot anything except maybe the bread, all the food you used is stuff that is able to survive room temp for a while under normal circumstances. For better and more conclusive results, I’d suggest getting food that is prone to expiring in room temperature unless sealed, keep the bread that was a good one, and maybe try some food that needs to be refrigerated. Next off, you should add another factor in the form of a control test. So just putting the same food item right next to it but not covered in flex seal.
Finally you should conduct the experiment over more time, the small amount of time isn’t enough for good conclusive results, it’d be better to do this over a longer period of time to further demonstrate how effective it is at preserving food.
Like I said, love your videos, I’d love to see Phil Swift make an appearance in an episode one day.
I was looking through the comments seeing if I was the only one thinking how flawed this was. Glad to see I'm not alone
Divide them into two categories: Experimental group and Control group
I agree
You dont seem to have ever been in contact with fresh fruits and vegetables :D Leave an apple, a carrot or a tomato flat on a table at 70°F for about 1 day and tell me, that this experiment is flawed. :D Fresh carrots start to get kinda soft and flabby after a good 12-16 hours. Thats why sometimes you can see some vegetables get swapped with new ones in the supermarket (at least thats the case in Germany) in the middle of the day during summer, because fresh things cant deal with these temperatures. Another thing that validates this experiment is one reason, why fruits, vegetables and food in general start to rot: contact with oxygen. Flex Seal completely isolates the food from the external air, that why it cant react with the oxygen in our air --> no, or just a minimal rotting process. Furthermore it means, you could, in theory, try that with any sprayable coating, such as spray paint or spray glue or anything like it. I'm open to a discussion about this :)
Unwoven Sleeve agreed
Nice Vid! Though Im not sure 6 days was long enough to wait and a control would have been nice.

Deysi Vargas meh not really we live apples in the kitchen in room temperature 6 days aint really enough for most stuff that he showed he should of waited a week in a half I think that would of been a better way to test if it keeps it flesh...
@Deysi Vargas with the exception of the bread and tomato, most of the items he tested were pretty harty, long lasting foods and would have been find regardless of how he stored them.
Not only should he have waited longer, he should have had controls as well. Same item with no seal stored in the same location for the same amount of time.
