Maybe you have a different scale of the first mapping node? Or different scale of the first noise texture? That's the two key elements I would imagine can solve your problem. @@davidkohlmann thanks. I have triple checked everything and still no luck. How come you have a circle instead of a sphere for your disk? I noticed that in your video near the end. i used a sphere, like you said. The mapping node and the gradiant node are creating the disc shape with some "deph", because if you use a simple circle it won't look good. With the multiply and combine xyz node plugged into the mapping node rotation you create the swirl.

animate the rotation of the mapping node and change the noise texture to 4D and animate the "w" value (try to use a driver as animation input (example: "#frame*0.2")

@@davidkohlmann i will try thanks
bro can send the color ramp color,i didnt get it and i didnt found in comment section
Hey, I might have done something wrong but the accretion disk is not as visible as yours. Any reason as to why that might be?
Probably different scale. Check you mapping nodes 😊
@@davidkohlmann I changed a couple of nodes and it looks better. I think this helped me understand nodes better so it's for the best really. Thanks for the tutorial!
@@kingpeanut7273 ur welcome, but honestly it was one of my first tutorials and has its downsides xD
I will create an updated version of it for Blender 4.0v or higher, soon. I'm sure to improve even the look of it by far.
How do you make the surrounding light moves?
What do you mean?
@@davidkohlmann for the animation, i want to make the light that surrounds the blackhole move
@@CalmRelaxing. You mean the glowing disk right? I just used a driver to rotate it constantly.
"#frame/50" for example for the rotation value. Depending to your rotation speed it needs to be changed to a different number then 50.
@@davidkohlmann you use the insert keyframes right?
@@CalmRelaxing. Yes but not with a simple number, instead use what I wrote before. #frame.....
i have a problem when i use the background on enviorment texture the background dosent change any solution?
same thing happened to me
cant find the "Multiply" thing
add 'Mix'node. drop down thing and click color, thendrop down the other thing and press multiply. i think thats it
how can i change into render view. i started blender a week ago and I am confused
You have 2 options.
1. Press z and chose render view
2. In the top right corner of your viewport are 4 little icons. One of them is render view. Just click it.
I'm new to blender , is there any way I can finalize it to the animation? all I could do was render image
animate the rotation of the mapping node and change the noise texture to 4D and animate the "w" value (try to use a driver as animation input (example: "#frame*0.2")
@@davidkohlmann ok thank you
idk what i did wrong but mine became invisible?
You probably should change the scale in your mapping node or apply the scale of the object, or both :D
When i put the image the background wont show up
Make sure you are in render view and in the render property you have to disable transparent background.
And did you put the image to an environment texture node in the world shading?
Did you get it working?
Same
please help me, why the disk isn't working like its invisible, I followed the instruction but still, it doesn't work
Check your object scaling and apply it. If your disk is smaller and you choose the same values in you mapping node the gradient texture will hide it. Just play around with the gradient and mapping node values.
i have a problem,,,in shader editor,,I don't have "refraction bsdf" but you do, how?
Different Blender version?
i use blender version 4.0@@davidkohlmann
@@Fasha123. With 4.0 all bsdf are changed. It's combined with other bsdf to keep it more simple.
I'll create a new tutorial soon for 4.0. but it will take some time
i'll wait@@davidkohlmann
Hey I cant find the multiply shader node
If you use the 3.3 version or below, search for mixRBG node and change the type to multiply. If you use the 3.4 or higher it changed. Search for mix node, change the mode to color and then you can change the type to multiply.
If you want the blue multiply node search for math node and change the type to multiply
whats that node that say multiply and are yellow (04:28) ?? the third from the right
the third from the right
In newer blender versions it's a mix color node
how do i get multiply in 4:29
Search für mix node and change it to color and than multiply to get the yellow one. For the blue one search für math node and change it to multiply
how did you get the color added mine is just white
With the color ramp I showed in the screenshot
@@davidkohlmann i did the color ramps and did everything the way it was showed in the screenshot but mine still turned out white

How to add multiply in node
Hey I’ve tried twice and I can’t get the disk to work it’s just going invisible. Can you please help me
What du you mean with invisible? The compete disk is not showing any information in your render tab? Or doesn't bend it around the black hole? If it's the second option, select your black hole, go to edit mode, select all, press "alt+n" and flip normals. I forgot to show this step in the video.
@@davidkohlmann nope the disk just doesn’t exist. I just used the black hole from this video and the disk from another. And Frankensteind it and it works
Weird😅
when i put in the back round image its just purple
Purple means blender can't find any material data to read. In general there is a missing connection or the texture path isn't correct anymore.
my background its kinda blurry can u help me with that?
For a high res HDRI you need something like 24k resolution or higher.
Why is it every Hover Dam time I try to follow along with a tut video, 30 seconds in ONE little thing prevents me from moving forwards/following along..... as soon as you open the shade editor, there is nothing there for me. I cannot make it select the object I'm trying to edit. Closed and tried again same results.. I've had so many problems with no solutions I can't remember how many problems I have.... man I suck at life...just wish I could get one, just one win. The only thing I have to be proud of is I haven't broke my keyboard yet.....yet....
the accrecion disk didn't work :(
nvm
turned out different
apart from that really good
Normaly it's a scale problem.
If your disk have different size than mine or the scale is not applied you need to change the mapping node values until it fits again
@@davidkohlmann its not looking as nicje, i think i did something else wrong but really good
블랙홀 주변 별빛띠 색상이 선명히 안보입니다.
노드는 완벽합니다.
Google translator ftw.
May you have a different scale? Try to change the mapping node values.
Shalom Dear David, the video keeps ending after you show the screenshot of your material nodes, and am unable to get back to see the rest. Apparently, the video is cut off.
Is this true, or is this a glitch in the matrix for me?
I reduced the ending screen. You can now see the screenshot better.
@@davidkohlmann Thank you kindly, I will need to work through your video again.
My background is not showing up when I open it. Any ideas how to fix it?
Do you mean the HDRI?
@@davidkohlmann Thats right
then you probably forgot to enable "scene world" in your shading (where you can switch betweet:solid, wireframe, render, mat preview)
or didnt plug the environment texture to the material output xD
@@davidkohlmann I figured it out, great vid
What is the node name between mix rgb and combine xyz?
It's a math node and set it to multiply
What node did you use for multiply
Math for the blue one and mix/color for the yellow one
@@davidkohlmannthanks alot
why you don't show the colors u used
I showed a screenshot of my shader. There you can see the colors too.
How did you create the background
The HDRI is from the nasa website
I am very new to blender but the multiply node material is not appearing yet I have tried so many times, but got everything else.
Type in Shift+A and then S to search (in your shader editor) and type in mixRBG, switch the mix mode to multiply. Now you have the "missing" node ✌️
@@davidkohlmann OHHHHH! That is good to know! Good show. Thanks!
Jedi David, you have two different multiply nodes, one is with a blue bar with a clamp and value property and another one is more goldish yellow, which reflects the one I have now. How did you get the other multiply node?
This is fun stuff but so very complicated ! Great for the brain!
@@johnadriandodge the other multiply node is a math node: Shift + A, then S and type in math.
Switch the mode to multiply and tada^^
how to make animation of this project?
just animate the rotation value of the mapping node. As simple as effective^^
