Damn. I was literally about to try this. Then Blender updated to 4.2 this morning, and the method in this video doesn't seem to produce the same results in the latest version... 🤔 In particular, you don't get that cool effect where the accretion disk and the black hole bleed into one another. Thoughts about what could be going wrong? It does seem like several options regarding screen space reflections have changed in version 4.2.
@@WhoElseButJarjosa Yeah, i have tried it before. Eevee no longer uses SSR and we have ray tracing instead and well, this method doesn't work in Eevee next and i have other problems with eevee next as well. I prefer to use previous versions in addition to blender 4.2. But if I find another way to create a black hole with Eevee next, I will upload a tutorial about it.
@@Poly3Blend-fm6bf I found out that using a Principled BSDF instead of an Emission Shader for the Accretion Disk in version 4.2 of Blender helps achieve the results in this video. That and playing around with some of the other numbers.
I have tried this on Blender 4.1, yet I don't get the same results after enabling Screen Space reflections. I have tried this once or more, but I don't really understand what the problem is. I'm quite a beginner so, I may have done something wrong but is it about the program itself?
@@iforgotitatmars This method works in Blender 4.1. Make sure that after activating screen space reflections, you also activate refraction from its options.
@@Poly3Blend-fm6bf Thank you very much! I guess I will try this out again from scratch to make sure that I don't make a mistake. By the way, I loved this cute creation. The disc looks so cool.
great work on this👍👍
Thanks, it was really helpful :)
thats really cool
Great👍
Holy cow that looks awesome!
BRO THX SO MUCH ! 😎😎🥂🥂🗿🗿
well done! but you don't show how objects behind the BH behave. quite important imo
@@tommot7755 Thanks for the comment.🤗❤ And about that, I think you can test it yourself.😉
do you know how to animate the rings
@@diverse798 Yes. Connect the object coordinate directly to the noise texture vector. Then set the noise texture type to 4d and animate the W value
