Can't say enough good things about the show but you STAN are what drew my 74 yr old father in. RERUN after rerun hoping he missed a word or two. This YT Channel is Awesome for many reasons. Gob bless Stan. My Dad gives a shout to Joe . from Rich no.stonington,ct.

Working away here is Boston Stan, really appreciate tagging along on your sled ride while I'm sitting here eating lunch. Amazing use of technology for sure. Thanks for taking the time to put together the video !
Stan Zuray , that’s true. Me and my dad we used to breed dogs. I love animals. Thanks for the video. It was really nice. You brought the Alaska experience. It was as I was there. Thank You.
I just found your UA-cam videos and can't wait to watch them all. Been watching reruns of Yukon men waiting for the new season to start. This is awesome! Love watching your way of life. Thanks for making these videos and sharing them!
Thanks for your quick response to the bigfoot question btw. My father is old and he's having a lot of trouble believing you folks have a world and real lives and you responded back. He's learning. #1 on YT for sure. Keep up the excellent lifestyle. We've learned so much. EVERETT , Ct. I'm no Dem ocrat.lol.
Say hello to your Dad for me. Got a Facebook full of pictures and a lot of info about things done on a website called RapidsResearch.com. We are real but the TV show is a little dramatized as you can imagine. But we do live that way each year. Best, Stan
Really love your videos Stan. Being from Maine, I loved hearing your Boston accent on TV. it's amazing how it stayed with you so strongly after 40 years in AK! Really enjoy your knowledge and techniques. :)
The road ends at Yukon River about 6 miles above the village. No way to get trucks across yet but people have locals pick them up by riverboat if they really want to see Tanana. No facilities at roads end at all. If rainy have to watch for deep creek crossings in a couple of places where there is no bridges or culverts. Some drove last fall just to sit at the Yukon for a couple of hours.
Hey Stan, I always admire how you guys live and I am wondering if you can make a video of making a fish drying rack and the perpetration of the fish and so on.
Andrew - check out this video as to the fish prep and the racks are made any old way. As you can see I use old oil barrels and spruce polesua-cam.com/video/BnEaoYs3Cgo/v-deo.html
Love the lifestyle you live there. Really wish I was able to live the same. It's the hard way of l life but yet the good life! awesome vids. maybe some of trapping along with a few to tips?
Thanks for a good video! You mention that you want to breed Willow and Spruce, who are siblings, with each other. Can you normally do that without too high risk of inbreeding defects?
Hi Stan. On an average day of Sledding how much do the pups eat? And what do they avererge in the summer? Also have you ever seen Norwegian Elkhounds pulling sleds? Greetings from Michigan.
There have been some of those dogs in this village and some mixed with the sled dogs here that I have run years back. I love the good fur on them which is absent on many of the race dogs today (which drives me nuts as I like to trap with them). They were not that fast though for constant miles of travel.
As to volume of food if they are doing nothing and in good shape they can live on say a half fish a day in winter with a little more when really cold. Working all day they can burn 3x that much. Usually I don't carry that much food when traveling so when we all make it back to the village after a bunch of days they will eat a 10 lb. frozen salmon plus warm fish/commercial pellet soup every day till they put the weight back on.
Stan. They are great dogs. I've just started mushing with them. I dont do any long runs with them. I prefer Elkhounds because of there versatility and there guarding ability. Plus I do breed them, so it a good way to compensate. Thank you for taking the time to reply. God bless.
Not to long ago I was given a GoPro Hero 5 black by a friend. This and videos done from now on by me will most likely be done using that. Learning how to use it more and more. First video cam that I can watch my dogs run without blurring on the legs.
We call them tripods and they are trail markers in the open country where the wind blows signs of the trail away easily. In some real windy places they are placed 100 feet apart and often we still have trouble finding our way in the dark or whiteout conditions. Some dogs actually learn to travel tripod to tripod and others never learn that. Stan
Wish you could of kept your dogs and trap lines, and things were not so messed up right now. Hopefully after the Democrat governors/senators etc. are voted out you can go back to your normal way of life.
Thank you for sharing 🙏

In my experience one generation of that is no problem at all.

wish I would have known about this video around the halftime show
Hey Stan, love watching your videos. What camera are you using here?
Not to long ago I was given a GoPro Hero 5 black by a friend. This and videos done from now on by me will most likely be done using that. Learning how to use it more and more. First video cam that I can watch my dogs run without blurring on the legs.
Stan, would you allow folks to come and learn from you firsthand? or to work for you?
if you didn't know already your city won the Superbowl. go patriots
Amazing game. Got to give the Falcons credit also - they almost did it.
how do you stay out in the bush
What are the tripods/teepee sticks on the side of the trail in the beginning for?
We call them tripods and they are trail markers in the open country where the wind blows signs of the trail away easily. In some real windy places they are placed 100 feet apart and often we still have trouble finding our way in the dark or whiteout conditions. Stan Zuray
right on, thanks. Figured they were some form of waypoint but prefer not assume.
do you still do your tv show
