For Sure an older truck without computers is King. I got a box full of old Chilton's Manual's! plus a 1954 Motors Manual 👍🏼 and all my College books for Auto/Diesel repair in '79-'81. I gave up wrenching 20years ago. NW Ohio✌🏼too far to ship to Tanana.

I like watching your videos, Alaska is a beautiful place, you are so brave to deal with the harsh winters there, I look forward to seeing more of your videos keep them coming, stay safe out there, I bet it's already winter there, and come December there's only a few hours of daylight, I saw a video of your's there in December when it was 50 below, and at solar noon the sun was just barely above the horizon, take care of yourself and stay safe and warm up there this winter, Alaska is brutal in the winter.

I am 62 now but the winter of 86 I was on the lam and ended up in Seatle on the Libby Lyn of all boats. Stan would probably love the youtuber from Germany called "The Post Apocalyptic Inventor". He has "Repair-a-thons" where he restores tools that have been thrown away in junkyards and then uses them for all sorts of projects.
Thats what I always say. Old school manual is the best. I remember once driving a car that quit on the road years ago. All I had to do was stick a stick in the carburator to get it to start again and away I go. And I am a woman lol

Beautiful old truck. Like you said, they made them so much more simple back then, and I think the simplicity made them more rugged, or reliable too. No way you’ll see todays trucks on the road 20 or 30 years from now. I wish we had the option to buy more simple cars now, but jeeps, trucks etc are all built like fancy cars.

Stan, you look like you wintered well. Your truck reminded me of the truck I bought from Fairbanks Sand & Gravel when I worked there in the 1980's and early 1990's. It was a 1970 Chevy p/u with about 40,000 miles on it. I remember paying $500.00 for it. Drove it for years and never put a dime in it for repairs and sold it for $1000.00. Stay safe.
I love your new truck Stan! 85 is a lucky year also cuz that’s when I was born.
