My guess is no. With the changes in TV (more shows - less TV viewer) it is way to expensive to film the way it was done here. The industry is moving more and more towards prearranged stories and ones done in a single setting like warehouses or studios to save time and money. That's my take on it.
There is no expected date at this point and I would want to stay away from that question anyway and let Ryan and Kari, the creator/producer team, come to that themselves. They have basically full time jobs but are dedicated to getting the project done and making it great. It will not be years I will say that much.
I love these videos you post Stan I’ve been watching Yukon Men from episode one I think my wife is getting a little fed up with it 😂😂 can I just ask are Charlie,James and the others from the show still in the town? You know you don’t seem to age a day must be the clean living and hard work 🥃
I and Joe are still in Tanana and still trapping again this winter. Charlie is right up river 75 miles in Rampart his home town. James, Pat, Courtney still here. Daughter Kate works on the north slope as a mechanic and Charlie's son Bob works in Fairbanks. Life goes on.
In the 1970's when I came to Alaska many had no freezers so dried fish was dried well and hung high bundled in burlap in the smokehouses or caches away from animals for the winter months. Nowadays most put them in freezers when dried or semi dried as it preserves that fresh "succulent" taste better. Our winters hardly ever see above freezing temps though. Like your new channel
@@stanzuray Thank you very much for responding. Been a fan of Yukon Men since day one. Were down on the Peninsula. This will be our 5th winter. Looking to dry some fish for our Golden Retriever. Our freezers are full of people food but it Sounds like we could still hang, dry; and wrap some fish old school to make some batches of dog food over the winter. I’m supposing that I will have to rehydrate and cook long enough to dissolve the bones.
I will cut them like you do but remove the heads along with the back bones. Going to gently remove the ribs and then slice across closer together (you said like people food) then hang. We built a big (not as big as yours!) smoke house / drying house last year. May eliminate the bone issue and may speed up the cooking process. Looking r To add vegetables.
Just to be real clear - This answer is for dried dog food and I have another video on the channel on how to cut them. It's a lot different than how the people food is handled. We never put dog food in the freezer. It hangs where it was hung right after being cut to dry until it is thoroughly dried and then it's stored like that all winter. Sometimes it is bunched up some to save space on the outside dog racks. It is never put in a smokehouse ever. Smokehouses here are for people food. Hope this clears things up.

One thing I do not try to find out from the documentary producers is when it will come out. I talk to them often. They are working on it constantly but they do have jobs and at this point all the film work is in their spare time. I will say that the editing stage (which I think is the hardest part to get right) seems to well under way with a light at the end of the tunnel. @@stanzuray Roger that, I'm still enjoying all of the videos you have posted. Already like a documentary for sure. The nature and way of living is something to be looked up to. Thanks
Hey stan a total random question ive wondered since watching the show, who pays to run the water plant? As in the wood to keep the lines thawed ect. Is it run by the villagers?
It is run by a local water board with help from the City and Tribal governments as to finance. Wood is bought from local people for the plants wood boilers as well as the school and a number of city buildings.
They eat them cooked or soured (basically raw) and also dried which makes them harder and sharper I'd imagine. Never had a problem one in feeding dogs for 45 years and 95% of their diet is fish. Cooked , frozen and dried
@@stanzuray Love your videos and your book! Why did you bother cooking the raw fishes for the dogs BTW, is it because they have tapeworms? I guess the frozen/dried salmon you fed in winter wouldnt have them.
Love your videos Stan! 2 questions for ya: 1. How is the internet connection in Alaska? Is it possible to run an in-line business say in the Homer outskirts area or outskirts of Fairbanks? 2. Do you know anybody from Mountain Men? Marty?
In alot of rural Alaska internet is available but slow. Will not stream say UA-cam videos without interruptions. In bush Alaska people use HughesNet satellite dish and it's great for messaging and email but at 250 MB limit a day is very limited and slow. Around the cities it's much faster and better if you pay the price - plenty good for business sites. I know of Marty and he's a very respected trapper around Fairbanks but never met him
Stan Zuray thanks for the answer! How do you upload your videos? Get on FB? Satellite internet? That must take forever! I can download movies in a couple minutes here. Adequate internet is my only worry about moving up there since I have an e-commerce business. I grew up in a small mountain town called Paradise, Ca. (It just burned down last year) but have been in San Francisco since I was 18 (a kid wanted to experience the city) Now I’m 36 and want to move back to the mountains but to Alaska this time. I need to get back to the woods if you know what I mean. I want a garden, fruit orchard, and some chickens, etc. Live off the land as much as possible but still have running water, power, internet and septic. But I don’t wanna see neighbors after living in a city for so long I need a break from that! 😉 I don’t know if that even exists up there. I’ve been researching the Kenai Penn. Homer, Anchor Point. Not as harsh as your area! I don’t know if I’m that tough to live in the interior by myself yet haha. Just need to research more on the internet connections up there and then come visit a few time before I pick a spot. I watched a NatGeo doc on the Collins twins trapper girls. They are tough! Reminds me of you! Can’t wait for the Doc! Hopefully you’ll upload it to YT. ✌️stay warm
At fish camp I got HughesNet and once you get it uploading it's only counting the download MB - upload is free. It takes about 12 to 24 hrs to upload a 1 GB video. In the village of Tanana where I am in winter it's a microwave into town and cable to the houses and a 1 GB video takes about 3 to 6 hrs. and we get 40 GB a month. You are correct to be thinking more south than here if you want to live off gardens more. Good luck.

@@stanzuray Hallo Stan I think it s hard to have only 4 hours of sunlight a day. Do you have christmas in Tanana and also a christmas tree? Stay safe and best wishes for you and your family.
That is my guess but as the show was never officially cancelled it could come back as some have after years of absence. The economics of todays TV world with so many more shows and less people watching TV make it hard for a costly show in an isolated village to be possible.
Stan Zuray I started watching Yukon men when I was about 11yrs and don’t no why but saw something on UA-cam about it today and I actually miss u guys it was a great show when I was younger I always said I wanted to move to Alaska and as I said I miss seeing you guys hunting and checking the traps.

Things are rapidly changing up here. Everyone trying to figure out a way to get through things but I realize many people in the world are way worse off.
I was telling my friend at work about tossing some raw scraps of coho to my huskies and he said watch out for "salmon poisoning" and sent me a link. I was like wow what! It was true and sad to see there is such thing.
@Kevin R I only posted it to let people know because most don't, after all eating raw salmon by humans is normal, so you wouldn't think dogs would be affected.
Send that lin k if you still got it. The vets up here have described one issue with raw salmon like this. There are enzymes in raw fish thatdestroy the vitamin B in a dogs system. Repaeted feeding of raw fish will eventually kill the dog. Coking or better rotting somewhat destoys that enzyme. Supposidly greenland huskies have evolved the ability to digest raw fish okay. Wolves that walk the beaches up here are eating the most rotten salmon they can find instead of a freshly washed up spawned out salmon.
@@stanzuray Sorry, I haven't got back to you. I'll look up my emails. And your book is awesome. Learning to love the cold and appreciate those who share, teach, and show their weak side.

Live both places - 4 months at fish camp in town in winter but some time in cabins on my trapline.
Hey Stan is Yukon men over
That is my guess but as the show was never officially cancelled it could come back as some have after years of absence.
You are a true fan. Stan
STAN HOW ARE YA, IM A BIG FAN IM ALSO A LOVER OF ALASKA, IM FROM MINNESOTA OJIBWE WITH A SERIOUS ISSUE ID LOVE TO MEET YOU BUT MY WIFE SAYS YOU HAVE NO TIME FOR ME CUZ THE SALMON AND YOUR DOGS COME BEFORE ME LOL PLEASE GET AT ME IF YOU CAN. thanks stan.

Where's Joey!!!!
About 6 miles away most of the time. Married and happy and living and doing his thing.
@@stanzuray That's fabulous!!!! The last I remember was seeing him get that wolf! It's really nice to watch daily activities on your channel. Thank you for showing us!
Did he marry anyone's daughter from the show. I have heard you say her name was Sam in a different video. I'm so happy for him.
Teaching children is the main thing adults do not do in the lower 48
Sure there's no bacteria?. As he pushed the Spade shovel in the dirt and scoops of dog food out with a bunch of dirty buckets with mud on them!.. nope I can't see any bacteria from my house!...😅😅😅😅
Ever see Bigfoot ?
Not yet but always hope I do - Aliens also - I'm serious.
Aren't you concerned about fish bones?
Not at all. Think about it - millions of years of animals eating them. Nature has it figured out. Some people even eat them .
@@stanzuray thank you for your reply
I want to move to Alaska
