I'm surprised when I hear people skip content in this game. I mean, it's tedious sometimes, so If you play it a lot I get it, but generally, I'm surprised people have played the game without beating that part.
That was a en epic vid! you're putting hours in this an it shows: didnt even notice the 40 minutes, went all smooth till the end. kotor voice-acting + dash voice acting = win.
You get darkside points, even though Bendek is an evil evil man. "I'm not even a Jedi, just a Force Sensitive Scoundrel!!!" I become a Jedi later. Got the restored content mod, so I've seen Deadeye Duncan on Manaan
Tell deadeye about your victory, he escapes Yaris to manaan, find him there, either kill him for knowing you or let him take the title of mysterious stranger.
I always loved the Bendak gun glitch. If you talk to Bendak after beating Twitch and set up the deathmatch immediately when you talk to the hut you will be rewarded for Bendak first and his blaster and then talking to the Hutt again you get your winnings from Twitch you never received and get a 2nd Bendak's blaster. It was always a fun little glitch considering how good his blasters are
I love this game. Exploited several glitches on the original Xbox version, good times. So, when I first beat Starkiller, I raided all bases and the undercity and stores. (hidden bek and black vulkar) After many losses, I finally had a plethora of mines, plasma grenades, etc. It was an easy win at that point.
If I believe correctly, you can get the bounty first and get his pistol. Also if you go afterwards to get your payment for the illegal fighting you also get his pistol still. So in other words there is an exploit to get 2 Bendak Starkiller pistols
You can exploit the manaan glitch to double any items your characters are carrying. This includes armor, weapons, etc. Just go to the Rift at the bottom of the ocean, save the game before exiting the airlock, exit, go right back in, and load the saved game. (I think that's how it works, if I remember correctly.) I used this to get an unlimited amount of items and equipment, which equals unlimited credits
You take the bounty, fight everyone but after the last duelist is defeated avoid talking to the Hutt and go straight to bendak. Set up the fight with him leave and come back. Kill Bendak then talk to the Hutt you will get the pistol, talk to him again and you will get it again
I loved every bit of the Mandalorian armor in this game except for the super tiny face plate on the hoods that make them look like the "Fronds" shrunken face meme.
Everytime I did the no level up Taris run this was absolutely the hardest part. Had to plant mines and lure Bendak into melee and hope he wouldn't attack me
Okay, yeah, Deadeye can go and lose another 100 matches... But wow, this video went by quick. Did not feel like 40 minutes at all. I daresay that is a testament to KOTOR's voice acting
Hi there. Cool video! One thing additional. As you showed, Marl leaves after you talk with him after beating him. Knowing this... you could opt to not talk to him afterwards and instead talk to him after you beat Bendak. It has been years but I recall he has different dialogue at that time. : )
I love how we keep envisioning things as being flatter in the future, but we never stop to think about how that might increase screen size. You can tell when most sci-fi was made based on how large that they think a comfortable screen size is.
I go straight vibro blade from the very start of the game. But I always stop leveling up after level 5. That way I'm a higher-level Jedi when I finally get to dantooine and learn more force abilities. I finished all the duels before finding bastila. The first 2 guys are easy, they fall after 1 power strike. Frost and the old guy 2 power strikes. Twitch, 3 power strikes. Starkiller I is a thermal detonator gas grenade, then power strike him 3 or 4 times. No medpads used until Starkiller
I love the duels and prefer to do them after I have cleared the other bounties from Zax - all the experience from those missions and a lot of adrenal stims make these matches short but awesome!
So fun fact: if you run close to him, he’ll pull out his sword. Then all you need to do is pause the game and switch to a blaster and just keep running and shooting as he tries to chase you down with his sword. Cheap but effective while at a low level
This isn't really related to the death matches, but what I loved about the dueling ring is that your character mentions their name in dialogue with Ajuur, so if you named them something funny, you'd get something like this: "My name's Doeng Bietl. For the higher ranked people I would do this strategy where I would come at them with a melee hit them and run when they pulled out their melee, I've found when they pull out a blaster again you get a much higher chance to hit with a melee

I'm happy to see someone new to pit my skills against. Do you like blasters as much as I do? I can't wait to face you in the ring!" you get the in game dialogue.
Only tough fight is Marl! Deadeye and Gerlon are easy, for Ice and Twitch just use grenades. For Marl, you have to be level 4 to survive, with shield up, and blasters, watch your health and use a healing potion of you have to. At level 6 I can take him with swords, but I hold at 4. And even the Death Match isn't tough. Bendek's not much tougher than Twitch. By this time I have 4 plasma grenades. Stay away and run to the right, throw a plasma grenade, run to the left, throw a plasma grenade, run to starting place throw 2 plasmas and maybe a regular and Bendek's down. Easy. And use the cheat, by not collecting on Twitch, until you kill Bendek, to get 2 Bendek's blasters.
my favorite part about the duel ring on taris, is the announcer himself. i just love how he puts an extra emphasis on a person's nickname, but it makes sense with Deadeye. he loses alot, maybe when he started they gave him a different name, but if you lose alot of matches and never get ahead, then they'd have to give Duncan a new name. so whatever he was called at first is no longer that, when you first step into the ring you hear the name Deadeye Duncan, but since we know in the world of Star Wars, every character has a story to them whether positive or negative, bad or good. but i like how they introduce him against us, this time he's after fresh meat lol. imagine if your character is female, that wouldn't go over too well lol. im just kidding, i wish Kotor 2 had more going on in the beginning. i mean i like Kotor 2, but compared to the first it starts out a little slower. but i get why it's like that, it's meant to have a more serious tone that gives the game a darker feel. with Kotor 1, you have a major threat with the sith locking a planet down, but despite all that everything just seems more lively. the way people act, you wouldn't think there was any real threat, but i think that's what makes it brilliant. plus each section of Taris is separated by upper, and lower levels of the city, not to mention the lowest level of Taris. so because you have all that, people are still doing whatever they want despite the sith being there. but if they don't care what happens in the lower city, why should they care. but that's also the perfect opportunity for your character and Carth to remain undetected, because the sith aren't gonna be looking soldiers.
My opinion, most of the duellists (except Marl) are easier to beat in melee. The difference is painfully visible for ICE and Twitch. Bendak is tough, but not as nearly in close-quarters.

I always found it pretty easy to kill Bendak Starkiller, you just pick Soldier at the start of the game and amp up your strength, then use a decent energy shield and a good melee weapon and you kill him pretty quick.
"Hundred of years people will be on Taris, living their lives, NOT BEING OBLITERATED, talking about the Mysterious Stranger beating Bendak Starkiller." lol
As someone who generally uses a melee build even this early in the game, I can confidently say that if you're using a vibroblade, Twitch is actually easier than Marl. Seriously, just throw a Frag grenade and charge with a vibroblade. It works like a charm. Even hitting Marl with a grenade is inconsistent at best because he rushes you. Although using a mine definitely is one way to make the fight easier.

Welcome to the ARENA !!!
Hello, announcer!
Imagine owning Kotor and not doing this already.
The arena was always one of my favorite parts of KOTOR
Same as the arena in the other Bioware game Jade Empire. Same vibe
The real winner of these duels is the announcer. He is having a blast, and doesn't have to worry about any murderous attention.
Even in Light Side playthrough I always kill Bendak. The gun. The winnings(convince more). The bounty(convince more). All huge that early in the game.
Bendak was such a pain with a level 2 melee character. I had to use concussion grenades mixed in with plasma grenades and some luck.
So fun fact: if you run close to him, he’ll pull out his sword. Then all you need to do is pause the game and switch to a blaster and just keep running and shooting as he tries to chase you down with his sword. Cheap but effective while at a low level
I spec into melee at the beginning so that I'm ready for being a Jedi, it makes Bendak way more manageable.
I was like, why isn't Dash playing the game? And then I noticed this was the lore channel
I have to record EVERY scenario for this channel, its fun but pretty challenging compared to winging it
Would be funny if talking to Twitch before fighting Bendak had him say: "I act crazy, but not THAT crazy. Good luck, and take care, friend."
You should do a lvl1 run through of this. My fight with Starkiller took 3 hours of dodging, doping, shielding, and kiting him around the arena

Also Daddy Dark Lore, you the shit. You have so many videos for so many games. I didn’t realize what I was missing out on. Hands down, favorite UA-camr next to MickyD. Thank you for keeping my work week short with these videos ❤
Well thank you & my pleasure 😁
Deadeye Duncan's voice reminds me of Cyrus from Trailer Park Boys for some reason. "I don't have time to explain all this, I got fuckin' work to do!"
1. Excellent observation. 2. Do you happen to watch the Act Man on youtube? Try unsee that 🤣
I like how the presenter says the word "YOU". Haha.
You... make money. Not great money, but it's nice for the early game.
So there was a Starkiller before Starkiller...
After luke starkiller!
@@DarkLOREDash got to wonder if the base was named after this guy though... 😅😅😅
@@goonerOZZ starkiller was luke skywalkers original name. Probs a homage to him
"Dead eye is a joke."
"Bruh, he's standing right there."
I always found it pretty easy to kill Bendak Starkiller, you just pick Soldier at the start of the game and amp up your strength, then use a decent energy shield and a good melee weapon and you kill him pretty quick.
Is strength affect on lightsaber attacks?
@@VITAS874 Yes, any melee weapon.
Ah, Steve 'Deadeye" Buscemi, number 5 ranked duelist, number one ranked in our hearts lol
First, spam Concussion Grenades. Next, everything else, and finish him off with some Plasma Grenades for style, and for the Big Bang at the end
"Hundred of years people will be on Taris, living their lives, NOT BEING OBLITERATED, talking about the Mysterious Stranger beating Bendak Starkiller."
lol
I literally just started playing kotor for the first time and even I beat it he only killed me twice but had to use a lot of concussion grenades
Girl on 2 fingers? L o l
Bioware writers were men of culture
Deadeye Duncan beat Revan :D
You remind me of Oxhorn haha except Star Wars
He was the inspiration!
@@DarkLOREDash wow that's awesome ! Now I'm off to binge watch the rest of your KOTOR vids, love this format !
I wish there was an option to tell Duncan to get ready to be the #6 ranked duelist in this cantina lmao
Twitch's final line is of course a reference to Greedo
The Sean Connery and Morgan Freeman voices are great
KOTOR coming to mobile! Let's goo!!
Ikr
There is a way to get light side points for doing this fight I forget how but you can look it up
As someone who generally uses a melee build even this early in the game, I can confidently say that if you're using a vibroblade, Twitch is actually easier than Marl. Seriously, just throw a Frag grenade and charge with a vibroblade. It works like a charm. Even hitting Marl with a grenade is inconsistent at best because he rushes you. Although using a mine definitely is one way to make the fight easier.
