Bro my 2015 scat had full engine failure at 40k miles, replaced by dealer there warranty, two weeks later failed again cus they used faulty gaskets so it blew gaskets, drive shaft failure at 73k miles, lost all power as the PDC completely failed. Rear end issues. They tried making me pay thousands for that It’s good now but was a nightmare. Has 101k on it now
I have a 2014 Charger SXT with 140,000mil (225,000km) and it runs great. As long as you keep up with regular maintenance and take care of it, you’ll be fine
Awesome ride there. I got my 2014 Challenger RT Classic in February 2019 for $24k and it had 17,000 miles on it. Has 35,000 now and general maintenance has been done when needed (oil changes, etc). Not had any problems other than me smiling ear-to-ear when driving it. These 5.7s are better than what people say they are.
I have 2014 charger rt with 202k miles and runs great. It’s my daily I call it a tank. It has been through hell with me and always ran great even after running over a deer
Really reliable cars and super easy to fix. Don't ever get rid of it! Hemi engines are way too easy to work on. If you ever need to do head gaskets, screw paying $1500 to $2000 for that. it'll cost you about $400 TOPS to do it yourself. First time mechanic can do it. Just have to pay close attention to what you do.
@@ben-qi9jk First of all, I work on them. Second of all, ive owned two of them, with the first one I owned, reaching 175k miles with not a single part needing to be replaced. Then a semi truck hit me and totaled it. Third of all, look at all the happy Hemi owners in the comment box whos barely had to do anything to them. Fourth of all, they are easy to work on for ANY mechanic and anybody else that works on them will say the same exact thing. This is a fact. So no, its not based on experience. You’re literally saying that, to somebody that works on cars. I can put a whole list of cars together that 1) suck & 2) arent easy to work on. Also, We dont even know if you have EVER even owned a Hemi. Cars are MY passion.
I drive a 2006 daytona rt with 152,000kms and it is running like a champ. Hasn't given me any shit beside doing regular general maintenance like flushing fluids, oil changes, allignments, etc.
Glad to see your experience. I just bought a 2021 Chrysler 300 S with the 5.7, and I really would like to hold on to it. I also got an 8 yr./100,000 mile warranty that covers everything so I should be good.
I got a 5.7 hemi in my Jeep GC 2016, over 40k miles & never had a single issue with it. Really good engines imo. I've changed my own differential fluids, brake fluids, oil, etc (Not that it was necessary, but I like being proactive in that aspect) & never ran into any issues 💯
Wife has 150k on her 2015 R/T Challenger. All I've really done is oil changes. Had EGR replaced and I've done brakes twice. Car has always been reliable for us. When I had to drive it when my car was down I could never get better than 24.5 mpg and that was all highway miles.
I also bought my scatpack challenger used with 21k miles got a steal on it, now has 35k miles no problems at all. Paid 32,000 plus tax. Replaced the water pump under warranty the steering wheel squeaks other than that perfect. The uconnect screen can have delamination issues aswell sometimes. Other than that mechanically these cars are great
remember if your new to dodges they are powerful and if your young especially start with a v6 or RT because controlling the better modals can be dangerous if your used to slower cars. had a friend who got scat pack from a jeep Cherokee and coming out the dealer hit two cars in oncoming lanes because the gas pedal gave him that power that he didn't expect.
I got a 12 awd rt plus in January with 95k. Has 105 now. New tires, needs replaced, zero burnouts. Awd modules 900.00. Ac door switch and something else ac related, 500. 200 deep inspection. Needs brakes (my fault). Had uconnect replaced by dealer under warranty, value 700. Trunk button doesn’t work, not fixing. New rack and pin/2 transaxels by dealer before buying, 1400. That sounds like a lot, but I’m into it for under 3k, and paid 12k. Can’t find them for under 20 right now. And I beat my cars hard. Already had it over 120 several times and 130 once. The plus has some crazy options like heated/cooled seats and cup holders, plus more and all works perfect. The sound and power, 100% would recommend and buy again if I had too
My wife's 2010 AWD R/T has 192k and still going strong! She just got a 22 Scat Pack, keeping the 10 for winter duty. HUGE difference in power between the 392 Scat Pack and the R/T!
Definitely a big difference as the 5 speed transmission, and the awd system on the R/T limit it even more. The 2015 and up R/T’s with the 8 speed and rear wheel drive do a little bit better…but the scat pack is more bang for your buck, and just all round better
I bought my 2013 Charger Rt Max Awd brand new in 2012. It had one tenth of a mile on the odometer. 9 years later it just turned 84k. All done by me. Only changed water pump 3 years ago. Dealer has done several recall repairs to it and I added R1 drilled and slotted rotors and brakes, oil catch can by UPR and Scott Drake strut tower brace. It came with the Alpine system which was junk so I upgraded the entire audio system and added an Northstar AGM battery. I maintain my car on a strict oil change time line. I have went through 3 sets of tires and 2 brake changes. Aside from nicks and dings from age and use it is nearly showroom condition. I love this car.
That’s how you know you’ve got a keeper! They keep changing body styles to get us to buy new cars, but underneath your car is the same as the new ones!
I have a 2014 RT AWD with 114 thousand miles still running good just keep up with the maintenance I put a K&N filter and it uses a lot more oil only prop I notice and sometimes wants to hesitate to go fast if I’m driving normal for awhile definitely need to open the engine more they restrict it too much
@@terrylee773 yeah the computer doesn’t like it if u drive normal for awhile and then try to go fast furious it wants to fight u that’s what I notice get the Diablo chip open it up
Bro, y’all could have a simple issue. I would punch my 07 300C, it would hesitate like it wasn’t getting gas. Turns out, dielectric grease killed the connecting in my spark plug boot on the coil pack! I bought new ones, car is running great again. They are like 16 a piece. Not too cheap, but I was getting ready to change the plugs, coil packs and throttle body in search of this issue, and it turned out to be a $16 rubber boot. If y’all have any questions about anything, hit me up!
My Challenger RT 2015 I've got 57,200 on it it's nice to hear reports from guys like you I still got a lot of miles left in my RT! And I don't know about you but I have no hemi tick and I don't think you do either
Sittin at 156k on my awd rt. Only things replaced were performance parts that i slapped on the day i bought it almost a decade ago🥴 granted my lifters have been out since 90k. Otherwise thats really the only major issue i had.
I just purchased a 2014 R/T and I loooooooooooooooove it! It has 70K on it, got it checked out and what not aside from something with the Bluetooth and usb, it’s aye okay. I did notice the tires are more expensive like on average $180 per tire which is going to take some getting use to having come from driving an Altima… but luckily I work from home so we’ll see. Thanks for this vid!!
Dang dude that’s great, i just got my R/T had it for about 3 months now, i rarely drive it so I’m not putting that many miles on it about to get my first oil change soon 😂

I love the 5.7 and I love my 2016 RT, who cares what the haters say. I’m gonna keep it for a while. I’m thinking about getting a RT Challenger or Chrysler 300 V8 too. 392’s are expensive for no reason
@@fullsend5437 Do you have any mods at all, or is it completely stock? Dodge did a DAMN good job of tuning their cars. Only if you did crazy mods, would I suggest that you need tuning. Tuning is a bit more difficult. Its best to find a tuning shop in your city to handle your tunes after you mod your car. If you don't want to take it to them, you can have them do email tunes, and you'd need that $500 diablo tuner to be able to import the tunes they email you. Its a bit less quick that way, but after time, it will be right. You'd have to report back to them what the car IS doing and what its NOT doing. Id suggest taking it to a tuner so they can Dyno it as they tune it! Thats the best route.
@@terrylee773 I just made the swap to Synthetic 5w20 High Mileage and the Mopar oil filter for mine. Ive got 130k Miles. I was skeptical on putting synthetic in my car at first, but it actually really is good. It lasts WAY longer and takes more abuse. After 5k miles, my oil doesn't look or feel like it needs to be replaced. Ive always changed at 5k miles. It just feels like a complete waste of oil and money to do at 3k. Its nowhere near ready. The inside of my engine is super clean as well which was a shock. I got it at 80k after it was used for a rental company apparently. I expected complete shit, but it was spotless when I opened it up. So I've been doing careful maintenance on it even since to keep it that way haha.
@@terrylee773 Also, I didn't just dump synthetic in at at one time, which doesn't bother it if you do. I just used half synthetic and half regular oil, for one oil change, then went ahead with full synthetic the next oil change. Cars been running GREAT.
I have a 2014 Charger R/T Plus in Header Orange carbon fibered out currently with 93,635 on the odometer and still pulling strong from the first day I got her. I wouldn't trade her for the world.
I have a 14 rt that just turned 170 k. Running same as it did new. I have a performance 93 octane tune on it and a couple other small mods and always use synthetic oil and havent had any problems.
The R/T 345 Hemi is very solid full size muscle car. Not the fastest one, has old good engine and the platform, and gives the best for it's price. I drive 2014 Charger R/T with 100K miles, owning the car from the day one.
Love the video champ I appreciate the content 👌 I do have a question I drive a 2016 chrysler 300c I have been having a plastic rattle in the rear end driver side tire have you ever encountered that on your charger
i have a 2012 dodge charger SRT, i bought it with 137k miles on it, the previous owners apparently drove it pretty hard, water pump went out went out within the first month of me owning it, and cam was completely worn out by a lifter that got stuck in the block, thankfully i got an extended powertrain warranty when i bought the car so i got a new waterpump and a new 392 long block for free
@@4kjay347 oh yeah they do, plus all the fancy stuff they come with, like the harmon kardon stereo heated/ cooled cup holders, and that engine power makes everything worth it
My RT Challenger, Stacks up to any Camaro, or Mustang, out there. I can get on the gas with any of them. And You're right about it, it's not slow by no chance.
Great video bro , your car looks clean . Hopefully mine lasts as long . I got a 2021 hemi rt charger blacktop edition with red seats 0 miles it came out to like 42000 plus taxes . The scat pack was like 48k at the time . Do you recommend any warranty besides the usual ?
You can't go wrong with a Mopar Maxcare warranty. Personally I wouldn't mess with any kind of non factory warranty. Just make sure you shop around on the internet for the best price and not go straight to the dealer to buy one. Also keep all your maintenance receipts.
I would go with the extended warranty. I regret not purchasing my extended warranty before the deadline came up. IMO, the extra 2-3k in the extended warranty will pay for itself over time if you decide to keep the car for the long haul.
its still clean for 100k, these cars should be built tough for road trips and 100k. the 5.7, 6.4, easy to work on yourself, doing maintenance yourself, etc etc. i thought 55k on my '16 was a lot of miles.. majority is highway road trip miles, and i can get my 5.7L mpg up to 30-31mpg if i pedal it right. changed my pads, tires, rear diff oil, about to change my coolant next. these are nice motors, crossing my fingers for another 50k no hassles
I bought a 2014 Police Charger two years ago with 111k miles and don't regret it at all. The 5.7 is really no joke, actually eyeballing a 16 Challenger R/T to add to my garage.
did you get a extended warranty? I have a 2019 rt with 34,000. 3 year warranty is expiring. dont know if I should for another 5 years. lowest quote I had was 1800$ for 5 years or 75k miles.
Mine has 127k miles, 5.7l 5spd, 2014. Water pump failed at 100k, 3.06open diff failed at around 65-70k (didn’t check fluid level and MANY burnouts), the heater core Ts are going out currently. Been very reliable, I beat tf out of it too lol. VERY torquie for me
Yo I'm everywhere in my state and I take my 2014 Dodge Charger rt out of state all the time I have 200 thousand plus and she still rolling of course with that many miles little stuff goes but nothing major like fuel injector oil pressure sensor spark plug serpentine belt little stuff nothing internal but you have to keep up with your oil changes is very important for the most part it's been a good car to me I got it with 60000 miles if you baby your car and maintain it well and really take care of it and pay attention to the vehicle how it sounds and runs it'll take care of you
I have a 2016 R/T that now has 61k on it. I'd say about 80% is all highway miles. Car has been great. Mid muffler delete hasn't caused any issues and so far all is well. It's no drag strip demon, but as I always say....there's cars faster than mine and there's cars slower....on the street, it holds its own very well
@@luvsmokeyy No problems so far. Routine maintenance like changing oil faithfully every 5k with ONLY full synthetic oil( no exceptions), clean and recharge K&N filter when needed and of course i do unfortunately have to get new tires all the way around once a year. Keep in mind, these aren't race cars or drag strip cars, so I don't drive it like one. I get on it, but I don't do burn outs etc

I love my Charger. I've got a 2018 Charger RT Super Track Pack. Drive it everyday. Mind you, I owned an older M3 before and as awesome of a driving experience as that was, i enjoy my Charger much more.
What is in a Super Track Pack? I have a 2018 Dodge Charger Daytona 392, in Yellow Jacket 1 of 73 made, it’s been a fantastic car to drive! It’s not my daily driver. I keep it in mint condition. Last year I had someone approach me at a car show and offered me $125,000, I would sell it for million. (At least for now) 😁👍🏻
I’m about to get a 2016 rt charger for $9k and it’s got 150k miles is it worth it ? I’m planning to keep it for 1 year only though and will upgrade to a Camaro ss next year in February 2025
sweet car i bought now just a few days ago but a 2013 charger rt plus awd with 55k miles love the car and is really clean one owner he was an older guy he said he hit 95mph in it once and that's it but he said it would idie for a while which it does have 2200 engine hours when i checked so i took it to the dealer it make sure it really had 55k miles and yup they said the car was always at the dealer for repairs or oil changes i'm like sweet mind you first v8 abd mopor always wanted one and an rt so i couldn't pass this up plus i like the 2011 to 2013 body style plus love the heated and cooled cup holders mine has i use them all the time and do work just pissed i don't have the paddle shifters also i have to do an oil change so i'm gonna use mobile one 5-20 as it says on the oil cap is that a good oil to use i always use mobile one for other cars i owned and do it every 5k miles plus i only drive at most 7k miles or less a year
Nice ride! Yes, I only use Mobil one full synthetic. One of the easiest and best ways you can ensure a long life for your engine is use full synthetic, and change the oil regularly!
@@4kjay347 sweet thanks yeah I had a 2.0T before this rt and still have it it’s a Vw cc when I would drive it hard and push it and race as it’s stage 2 300hp I would do an oil change every 3.5k miles and will do the same with the rt oil and the filter isn’t to much I’ll rather be safe then sorry
Recently bought a 2016 Charger Police with the 5.7L and AWD. Have you had any issues with the rear driveshaft hanger bearing support coming apart? Bearing is non replaceable on 2015 and up, but I did manage to find an aftermarket solution. Apparently these Chargers are know for this issue as well as front suspension bushings separating. Mine also required a camshaft replacement before I took delivery of it.
To anyone looking at a high mileage Hemi car, it all depends on how it was taken care of. I looked at 10 - 15 Charger RT and Challenger RT and ended up getting a 2013 Charger RT with 130k because it was the cleanest. Coolant reservoir and air filter are good indicators of how its been taken care of. Im a bit over 150k hard miles and shes loving it. Installed new suspension, Long tube headers, SLP catback, Getrag 3.91 LSD, Legmaker CAI, MSD coil packs, a HemiFever 93 tune. I drive it hard every week and its holding up well, all about maintenance. Most of them that I looked at had a musty brown coolant reservoir, lookin for bright orange on an 11-14 Hemi.
You may want to get that fixed. The 5.7 in these cars generally get 18-20 average without trying. It's pretty hilly where I am and I get 16-18 with my Cherokee SRT8. Obviously less if I am horsing around with it.
@@beast_mode_4200 dead ass lol. You can keep it at 29 - 32 mpg, but youll start losing speed, but shiiiiiit, saves LOTTA money haha. I drive batshit crazy from Full to halfway empty, then from there my foot enters Eco Mode 😂😂
Honestly, when it first starts there is a little hesitation from first to second, but it’s been like that since I got it 4 years ago. That 8 speed is a ZF transmission. Very good and reliable especially at our power levels. I used to ride in sport mode a lot and rode it hard and it’s held up well
I don't consider 100km high as it takes but a mere minute to reach. Mines a 2006 with 150,000km and I generally only put 10,000kms p/yr on it but feel like during the summer months I barely get any seat time in. Fuck the kms
Do you run 93 Octane fuel. I do regular, but...Add 4oz of Marvel Oil to fuel. I also do the Lucas Oil treatment every Oil change adds $16 to Oil change cost.
I bought a 2017 dodge charger rt with 85k miles. I left out the dealership with my car sounding like a beast, I put regular gas in, I noticed a delay in my acceleration... do you think 93 octane will fix it?
Hey man, ik this video is old sorry, but I’m looking for buying first car, 18 in the military, so I won’t be driving far besides just around base and the area im in. Nothing crazy. But I’m rly into these charger rts. I’m looking into like 2017 and up, what do you think a good mileage to buy it is, in florida btw. Just wondering
start going on cargurus , keep your price range and filters you are looking for but just bump up the mileage slowly if you can’t find an option. but don’t be scared to have to make a trip for a good R/T , a lot of them have problems
You can say that again about tires my 2016 rt just hit 129 and I lose track of tires bought brand new tires June of this year already worn down it'd wild
i’ve got a 2017 R/T i’ve had for a year and half , got it at 63k now it’s at 87k. just getting into the higher numbers that fast are worrying me if it’s just gonna die out , trans sometimes will feel like it’s taking a second but no problems i’ve needed maintenance on. i just take so many trips is that gonna damage my car or just the value on the market ? cause i don’t ever plan on giving her up 😭😭
The 5.7 is a strong, reliable motor. The police run them 24/7 for years then they get sold and driven for years to come. The zf 8 speed transmission is a good trans. It’s in a bunch of different makes and models. Just make sure you get the oil changed regularly and perform the maintenance on it and it will last you a long time!

40k? Shhh. Holla back in 2 years and keep that same energy
Year later how’s it holding
Other than that mechanically these cars are great
I have an rt daytona paying 35k for everything even with a damn 14% interest rate smh
I can dig it!! All good info good stuff bruh mines is 14 just got to 100k. Still running good. 👍🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Aye it’s gonna run for a lot longer!
remember if your new to dodges they are powerful and if your young especially start with a v6 or RT because controlling the better modals can be dangerous if your used to slower cars. had a friend who got scat pack from a jeep Cherokee and coming out the dealer hit two cars in oncoming lanes because the gas pedal gave him that power that he didn't expect.
RIP
Same but was a hellcat 😂
Lol what a dumb shit. Someone like that shouldn't even be allowed to drive.

But still your freind was stupid let’s not ignore that
Just bought a 2014 300s awd 5.7 with 70k so far. I had to replace the tires already it’s no joke . Definitely dope video.
Thanks man. I got a video dropping soon about the 5.7 300!
The sound and power, 100% would recommend and buy again if I had too
You have to take care of your car. keep up with oil changes, make sure it has coolant, tire rotation.
Facts
That’s awesome! That car is still like new. It will still be on the road when the electric cars take over!
@@4kjay347 even after 9 years, I still look back at it after every time I park it. 😄

Pull the battery to reset the CPU and put some miles of spirited driving on it... it'll learn!
Awesome! Enjoy that hemi!!!

Do you have any mods at all, or is it completely stock?

The R/T 345 Hemi is very solid full size muscle car. Not the fastest one, has old good engine and the platform, and gives the best for it's price. I drive 2014 Charger R/T with 100K miles, owning the car from the day one.

I think that’s the actual weak point of the car. Mine went bad last summer, and none were available, it was a nightmare!!
2017 175k miles for 10k is that a good buy?
My dad has 2016 Rt and found it a 9,000 practically new but still paying it off.
