I love that your videos are only a couple of minutes long and you get right to the point! I really don't like the minute or longer music intros, graphics and incessant talking a lot of vloggers do. THANK you for respecting our time and providing a wonderful and easy recipe.👏
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! I appreciate it ❤️
@@CarasRecipes I subscribed and can't wait for more recipes! I'll review some of your past ones too! How a busy mom & wife can do all this is amazing!
I appreciate this too
After years of making biscuits like my mother, this is first time I've seen my recipe explained to perfection. Well done!
Thanks so much! I bet your biscuits are delicious ❤️
Great concise video with very clear instructions. You didn't over talk, which a lot of people do! Your biscuits look yummy!😋😁💖
Thank you! Hope you’ll give them a try ❤️
Really fine video. Clearly explained and well filmed. ~ I've tried for years to make biscuits using 7 or 8 different recipes from expert biscuit makers in my community. Almost without fail my biscuits won't rise, won't brown, and are so incredibly dry that they are nearly inedible. I have no doubt that yours are very good. Making biscuits isn't following a formula but rather is a mystical zen activity such as hitting a dove in flight with a shotgun or playing guitar: a few people have just the right touch but many of us do not. I have a friend who is a skilled, experienced cook, and he has trouble making decent biscuits too.
Thanks! I hope you and your friend will give these a try - they are delicious!
I enjoy watching your videos and you are very respectful to your audience.
Thank you! I appreciate that! ❤️
I just made these and used equal parts heavy whipping cream, buttermilk, and 7-up for the liquid and folded them a couple extra times. I buttered them after they came out of the oven. These are so good and flaky. Thank you so much!!
So glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️
Thanks for this recipe. These biscuits are as good as my mother in laws and hers were the best.
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed them!
This works like a Charm! Fear not, when it comes to the perfect biscuit.. this is it. (I hold my box grater right over the flour and let the frozen butter drop right in .. ) But either way .. it's good stuff - and a great presentation. Short, Sweet and to the point! Thanks!
Agreed- frozen, grated butter is the trick to amazing biscuits! Thank you! ❤️
Good idea to hold the grater over the flour. Eliminates a step.
Never used butter, but these look delicious. I will certainly try
Thank you!! Butter biscuits are so yummy! Enjoy ❤️
Only 3 ingredients, sounds so easy! 💕
It is!! So easy and they’re delicious for breakfast or served with dinner ❤️❤️
Lovely recipe, thank you!!
You’re very welcome! ❤️
Thank you for this recipe i finally get great biscuits 😊
You’re welcome! So glad they turned out great for you! ❤️
Perfect and pretty biscuits! My mother always brushed the top and put them touching each other! These other cooks don't know what they are missing!
Thanks so much, Bonnie! I bet they were delicious! Sometimes the old fashioned way is truly the best ❤️❤️
I will try them it looks soooo delicious
Thank you! Hope you enjoy them! ❤️
I will have to try some of these when we come and see you.
They are yummy!

They were amazing
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed them!
Hi Cara, I tried this recipe this morning and it turned out great, love it, I find that if I freeze the butter, bowl, and grater over night the butter will stay together better
So happy to hear you enjoyed them! That’s a great tip ❤️
PERFECT.
Thank you! ❤️❤️
Thank you for this recipe! You’re really pretty btw!
Aw thank you! Hope you enjoy them!
I must try this recipe.

Thank you! ❤️
"The." You're welcome
Excellent !
Thank you, Marsha! ❤️
Thanks for sharing. The biscuits looks great and easy I will be trying this recipe next time I want biscuits. Do you sift your flour?
Thank you! I didn’t but you certainly can to ensure they turn out extra light and fluffy. Hope you enjoy them when you make them! ❤️
Where is the recipe for the first one you made
Delicious
Thank you! Homemade biscuits are the best ❤️
Thank you for the recipe. It turned out just as you described! However, I had to use a Pyrex pan because my cast iron skillet kept setting off the smoke detector.
So glad to hear they turned out well for you! Hope you enjoyed them! ❤️
Hello Cara, I have a request. I know some don't like the mess of making biscuits. When you have time could you please do two tutorials. One of them would be making what's called butter dip biscuits it's where you make the batter in the bowl and you dump it all in the pan and the other request would be making drop biscuits. Neither of these require getting your hands messy and they taste absolutely delicious.
Hi Barbra, thanks for the request! I’ll actually be sharing a drop biscuit recipe in the coming months and I’ll look into the other kind! ❤️
@@CarasRecipes Thanks
@@CarasRecipes Hi Cara, did you ever get around to making the drop biscuits and the butter dip biscuits?
Hey, Barbra! I have added both to my content calendar and hope to make them soon. I appreciate your patience. Also- I know you had requested it before and will be sharing a pound cake recipe in the coming weeks - so stay tuned. ❤️

hi I JUST SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL on today October 15 / 2022 ) Enjoyed your homemade biscuits, thumbs up and thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Not sure if this question has been asked before. What can I use if I don't have buttermilk? Thank you.
Great question! You can use either milk or buttermilk- both taste great. I also include how to make your own buttermilk using milk and vinegar in my blog post. Check it out over here: www.kindlyunspoken.com/3-ingredient-self-rising-flour-biscuits/
What is the weight of one stick butter? Also can you please provide the cup measurement in gram as different countries cup measurement is somewhat different
Hi Rosalind, you can very easily google baking conversion tools that make it super easy to convert. 1 stick of butter should be equivalent to 113 grams, 4 cups of flour = 500 grams, and 2 1/2 cups of milk is 615 grams. Hope that helps!
You learn more by doing your own research & conversation. Be thankful for the share. This is not meant to be mean just something my father taught me. In baking you learn a lot from your mistakes. Happy baking
Can these also be made on a sheet pan? If so, same temp and time?
Hi Lauren, these are best made in a cast iron skillet or baking pan, but if you don’t have those you can make them on a sheet pan spaced apart. The temperature will be the same but the baking time will be less. I’d try 8-10 mins and go from there until they’re a light golden brown. Hope you love them! ❤️
That explains why mine came out a little extra crispy on the outside. Because I used a cast iron griddle pan but still baked for 15 minutes! They were still good though if you like your (if you like that sort of thing)😂!but you know the crisp outside texture actually made them perfect for bacon and egg biscuits. Which is what I ended up doing with them!
@@tabbijoy6448 sounds yummy! I like a crispier biscuit for breakfast sandwiches so thanks for sharing ❤️
What temperature should they be cooked at???
425. You can get full step by step instructions and tips over here: www.kindlyunspoken.com/3-ingredient-self-rising-flour-biscuits/
Enjoy!
Can I use a baking tray instead of a cast iron skillet? I dont have one
Yes, I would recommend lining your baking tray with parchment paper or spraying it with non stick spray.
Your biscuit look delicious
Thank you! Hope you’ll give them a try! ❤️
I am going to make this now. Should the oven be preheated?
Yes, I recommend preheating the cast iron in the oven while preparing your biscuit dough like I did in the video. You can get full step by step instructions and tips over here: www.kindlyunspoken.com/3-ingredient-self-rising-flour-biscuits/
Enjoy!
@@CarasRecipes thx u. I forgot to mention I dont have a cast iron skillet. I tried it. Wasnt perfect but it was good. Will be better next time.
Glad to hear they were still good! A cast iron pan is a game changer and you can use it for so many things ❤️
Can you use all purpose flour
Yes, but you will have to add salt and baking powder for it to rise properly.
Can you freeze your dough?
Yes, you can. I recommend cutting your biscuits out first, freezing on a tray for an hour to ensure they don't stick together, and then placing in a freezer safe bag until you are ready to bake.
I'm gonna try. I'm a person rather not a rollingbpetdon. But looks easy.thx
You’re welcome! Hope you like them!
Can I add sugar for a sweet biscuit
I’ve never added sugar to these but I’m sure it’d be okay.
Very nice video good your work is beautiful niceee good video amazing work and your welcome i live and thank you
Thank you!
What was the temp of oven?
425 degrees F
👍👍👍👍
❤️❤️
The first biscuit recipe I have watched that have heated the skillet while oven is getting hot.
It gives the biscuits the perfect crispy bottom ❤️
Is there no sugar added
Nope! You can add a little if you like, but they’re delicious as is ❤️
New subscriber lets c what u got best south africa
Thanks for subscribing! ❤️
i really like your videos 😁 are you still uploading more in future tho cuz your lastest vid is a month ago 🙁
Thank you! Yes, I'll be uploading a new video this week and back on schedule. Our family just moved to another state and we're just now getting settled in. Thanks for checking in! ❤
Tempeture of the oven?
425 degrees F
It looks good, but I don't use cast iron.
Thanks! You can do them in other types of pans, just know that you might have to adjust the baking time. If I can’t use cast iron I prefer a metal pan for even baking. Hope you’ll give them a try! 💙
Can i use margarine instead of butter?
You can, but it will taste better with butter ❤️❤️
قناتك جميلة تبارك الله انا جديدة عندك كنتمني يدوم التواصل و شكرا ❤️❤️❤️🍓🇲🇦🤝🤝
Thank you!
How many grams of each //////???????
Hi, Kenny! I don’t do my measurements in grams but you should be able to take all the amounts I have listed and put it in an online conversion tool. Here’s one of my favorites: foodconverter.com
That’s what I’m talking about
I followed the recipe I had to minus about a cup of liquid. Probably because I used a liquid measuring cup an I measured my flour with a scoop spoon method.
Yes, the way you measure your flour can always impact that. Hope you enjoyed them!
I wanna do this but I don't have milk
Sorry! Milk or buttermilk is definitely a key ingredient here. Hopefully you can get some soon and try them, cause they’re definitely worth it ❤️
Why didn't you show the inside to see how soft or too dense?
Good suggestion. I’m sorry I didn’t include that but they’re super soft on the inside! ❤️❤️
I tried making them exactly the way you did but seems like it needed more of the ingredients
There’s a lot of factors that can impact baking and sometimes you might need to add a little more or less flour/liquid to get it just right ❤️
Went from 8 biscuits, to 9 biscuits, to 10 biscuits, My finale guess.
Hope you liked them!
@@CarasRecipes Loved every one of them.
I just m
Hope you enjoyed them! ❤️
I made these and let me tell you they tu r Ned out like flat biscuits lmao they were tasty but flat and crunchy I was so mad I used so much flour which was all purpose flour what did I do wrong
Hey! This recipe uses self-rising flour which already has baking powder and salt in it. If you used all-purpose which doesn’t have rising agents in it that would be why they turned out flat. I’d recommend trying again with self-rising flour so that they turn out great❤️
@@CarasRecipes thank you so much I'll try again
Mines was hard as well nothing like what she said

@@feliciajohnese3613 I guess we need more elbow grease girl
Don’t have a biscuit cutter. Plan on using an empty can lol
Whatever works! Lol Enjoy!
I love how so many channels are calling self-rising flour a single ingredient. It has the baking powder and baking soda already mixed into it.
That’s very technical. What if they called them three item biscuits?
@@Meganandmorgen Too many people don't know that you can create "self-rising" flour. Maybe explaining that if you don't have self-rising flour, she could tell people how to make it.
I get what you’re saying but self rising flour is a pre-mixed flour blend with baking powder and salt, and when using it in a recipe it’s only one ingredient.
I do actually tell how to make it via the recipe link on my blog, but I’ll add it to the description box as well. Normally most people who follow a self-rising flour recipe already have it on hand, but I appreciate the feedback and will try to include that info in future recipes.
@@CarasRecipes My wife never keeps it on hand because "I can make that in 2 seconds!" lol She's so very practical, yet rarely ever follows a recipe exactly.
Tunke yuo
You're welcome!
four ingredients if you include the oil in the pan
It’s only to keep the biscuits from sticking to the pan 🙂
Popeye biscuits lol
They’re not sweet like Popeyes but they are yummy! ❤️❤️
The recipe in the video does not match the recipe in the description. Would have been nice to pin a corrected recipe at the top of the description. Ruined my biscuits
I’m not sure what you mean? It’s the same recipe. Did you happen to click the wrong link?
I followed the recipe in the video. It’s said 2 cups of buttermilk. When the dough came out crumbly and dry I double checked the recipe in the description because I watched the video twice to make sure I followed it correctly. I’ll try again with the written description.
Its a plain Scone its not a biscuit, Biscuits got a snap to them You can adapt a scone recipe to include anything but the best way to eat them is to top them with fresh home made strawberry jam and a blob of clotted cream
Thanks for sharing!
I think it depends on where you live... in 🇨🇦 we call these biscuits... buttery, moist, and fluffy. Scones here tend to be a little drier and crumbly, and can taste a bit similar to baking powder biscuits.
This is a bland recipe. I got the same recipe from another site. Needs something to put some flavor into the biscuits: a pinch of salt or sugar. Very bland recipe. The look nice, however.
They have salt in them via the self-rising flour, and I also always use salted butter in my biscuits. If you’re not using salted butter I’d recommend switching that next time.
@@CarasRecipes Thanks. I may have used unsalted the last time I made them and both my daughter and I thought they lacked flavor. I just grab for the butter and never look at the type.
It’s not 3 ingredients it’s 6 🤣 😂
Self-Rising Flour + Buttermilk + Butter = 3 ingredients.
Do you really need to tell us to use a pastry brush to top the biscuits with butter. Glad the video was only 2 minutes. Honestly 🙄
Hi, Susan - It’s my job to provide instructions in my recipe videos and I’m not sure why this bothers you. Thanks for sparing 2 minutes out of your day to watch and comment though. Enjoy the rest of your day!
Do you really have to be such a Karen, Susan?!
It's the kind of scones, isn't?!
It’s not sweet or as dense as scones. These are flaky, soft, and tender ❤️
Yummy
Thank you!
