yeah i got aphro cast + demeter gale force = insta origination trigger on enemies in cast + scorch on the torches attack with aphro hestia duo and it was SO STRONG
btw the duo he was hunting for is amazing. because it only enables origination but also applies the base effects, like vent or blitz. with aphro cast and something like local climate it destroys. hestia now has some kick-ass duos.
interesting, at around 21:43 you got a Riposte even though it wasn't ready yet and then soon later the sound and animation for when it's ready happened, that's funny
I used to use White Antler if I knew I needed the boost and was gonna get my ass handed to me enough to trigger it. I guess the health changes make sense but the one area limit feels a bit heavy handed to me. Why not keep the challenge (and reward) going for longer?
I think one thing the developers don't like is whenever something is an auto take. Or if a build is centered around doing one thing. This in some way lets you take different keepsakes and then use White Antler for Chronos... leading to more interaction with the system.
I love/loved White Antler! I'm no speedrunner, but I'd do glass cannon runs for fun. There weren't many crit effects in the last patch, so it was great fun to explode bosses. The new change is kinda sad for runners (even I wish it wasn't 1 biome now) but it makes getting the hp req a non-issue. Sad, though. I kinda doubt Tartarsauce and Grampa would be made much faster, as I'm assuming a speedrun build would be strong enough to clear rooms quick without it
Personally I prefer it because it allows for other keepsakes/frinos to be used, it also makes health not a run killer. What I'm really liking is that if you can get the upgraded keepsakes then its 50% crit rate for tartarus.
Not a speedrunner and I liked old White Antler but didn’t love what felt like many hoops I had to jump through to avoid gaining max health-using it was the only reason I wished there was a way to manually disable 0 cost cards. I wish lasted more than an an area, but I’ll take finite uptime if it means consistent uptime
i beat fear 32 with Mel torches using Hestia opening start. Pyro technique is kinda broken. Not gonna lie. both surface and chronos. I wonder if they;ll nerf it. this seems to be strongest dps now. Just get high-level pyre technique and keep pooming it.

@@revelation2-9 I was abusing the new golden nectar which gives you a random pomme. i setup a purple attack boon and rerolled for pyre technique, it rolled as purple, i rarify it and didn't take any other boons for entire run. The goal was to keep pomming pyre technique. I got it to level 6. You run same Vows as Original Momo's but you put 7:00 deadline[You need the time to let burn tick]. put like 1 health vow, 1 attack vow, 2 rebukes until you reach 32 fear. restrict almost all your scaling, so put on onion, 50% mana, 80% more expensive boons, Vow of Forsaken, Vow of Arrogance. everything except your health should be 100%. Your almost playing regular game with this build. Easiest fear 32 clear ever with right Arcana cards. I think even a bad player can clear fear 32 with this build. Only 2 boon win.
im always kind of unsure of whether or not to use sorceress on aspect of Artemis. I understand that you don't want to take damage when using your omegas when they're the parry's not ready, but it feels so slow without.
Also worth noting the timer moves at the normal rate even though the game's speed slows down. A minor thing, but if you're holding the omega attack for Artemis' riposte it adds up
The enemies that appeared at 19:58 weren't affected by the Glamour Gain weak. It seems that sometimes enemies spawned at the Icarus chamber don't get hit by it. I just noticed it because it happened to me as well, weird bug lol
I have a blitz build that you should try to optimize. Here's what you need. Weapon: Aspect of thanatos axe. Hammer, that allows you to throw your omega attack forward. Duos: Romantic spark, and thermal dynamics. Throw your omega attack at enemies and continuously sprint into them to keep activating blitz effect. This also keeps applying scorch at the same time. It melted chronos with ease! Lol.
Wait a minute.. Glamour gain makes bosses always weak, and the hestia duo makes scorch last forever if enemies are weak. Doesnt this mean the boss can slowly die if i just hide behind the pillar?
Glamor Gain was changed to 'all enemies nearby,' so you would need to stay close to the boss. However, if you add Poseidon into the build and get his duo with Aphrodite (Island Getaway) then all foes count as nearby, and Glamour Gain causes all enemies to be weak at all times, which does give functionally infinite scorch duration. (Which also guarantees a permanent Origination, if you have the Arcana card for it.) Bosses that teleport or become invulnerable (which is all of them, to be clear) will cleanse the scorch effect when they do so, but you just need to tag them with your scorch ability again for them to resume burning.

Hearth Breaker+ any blast from Hephaestus (ideally max rank for 2 sec cd) + Love Handles + Sunny Disposition = stupid dmg with no magic regen ))) it's hard to get, cuz you need 2 duo boons but the burst dmg is soo sweet. you can use his sprint as well but maybe you'll need some magic regen, i'm not sure
White Antler could work less optimally before like the Stregth Arcana, where you got some boost if you got to low health even if you started with Titan as well. That still gave a nice bonus without requiring you to lower your max life. Currently, if you're not that comfortable with going to 30 max health, it might feel completely unusable. Not saying they shouldn't have changed it (I never even got to use it that much as I only have it a low rank and the percentage is simply not worth it), but it does seem to me like it became way more restricted as to who might want to run with it.
After I maxed my altar, I almost always used White Antler right from the start of the run. Now I can definitely feel the nerf but it is still a reasonable keepsake to either start with or at the last area not really in between-- this is cause it can buy plenty of time for the vow to rack up minutes early or save minutes in the end~ But I'm mostly sad that it's 30% Crit now :(
Picture me practicing highish heats last night. Picks Aspect of Erebus Flames. Grabs this duo mid Fields. Loses all DD's pre-Cerb. Proceeds to absolutely destroy the rest of the run. The ticks start getting really absurd once you hit 2k+ stacks.
Beat Chronos for the first time with this Boon last night! And I upgraded my scotch damage to engage 90% faster. Easily the strongest I've been in this game. One tapping everything 🤣
They severely need to get more content on the surface. If I watch half the run, and then want to eat breakfast while watching the other half - I'm out of content before I'm even finished with the breakfast. Breakfast-based content viewing is the only metric that matters.
Haelian, love the hades vids long time fan. If you see this please try the axe and run Hell Splitter and Executioners Chop 🙏🏼 with aphro it’s insane. Would love to see you try, as an experienced rougelike gamer.
old White Antler will be missed but it honestly makes the game a little too easy despite the hoops you have to go through to stay at ≤30HP. I do think the rework is bit harsh but oh well
@@TheLateral18 you aren't forced into going either way, just go where you want to go. The only reason might be for some specific ingredients that you can only find if you go up or down
The way the surface works makes it easy to roll doors and get the same god a bunch of times. So if you realllly want to check out a legendary boon it makes it much more likely.
I’m kinda surprised at the way they are changing things. Don’t know if some things are locked in but the changes to the gain boons and Selene for me seem to be bandaids for core gameplay mechanics that need fixing. People dislike selen hexes and hate her in the first chamber. So they buffer the boons, lowered triggered costs. People still hate her and pointed out in Erebus her cost to activate is too high so they now made the warding circles activate your hex so you can use it in Erebus. Bending over backwards to try get this mechanic to work. Not saying Selene should be removed but the core way it works should be changed. We have mana arcana cards, and several gain boons and mana potions. Mana resource management is not an issue on 99% of runs. The whole mechanic needs rebalancing I’d argue
Idk I think the most recent patch made Selene worth using. Hardest part for me is just remembering to activate the hex. The incantation to make Chronos vulnerable to time slow effects helps a lot too.
Hestia + Aphro duo + Hestia + Demeter duo felt really good, you don't keep the scorch if activated from Demeter but it makes it really easier to stack

Imo the more keepsake variety the better
I can see why you'd prefer the old one in that way but I like having a high damage high risk keepsake for when you're confident
You can still get Selene starts when you aren't using a Keepsake.

Glamour Gain doesn't make 1 foe forever weak anymore, now it affects all enemies near you. So you'd have to stay within range of the boss.

yes, you can stack insane amounts of scorch with the aphro duo and then the demeter duo will clear it for the 200% damage

After patch 3, now I'm running Arcana with 32/30 grasp, and it lets me do it. I guess one day I'll change the loadout and be capped at 30 again :/
