    Our Mission
Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, wildlife and environmental education, and the development of the Cedar Canyon Nature Park.
    Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal, but for those that cannot be released due to disabilities, the Cedar Canyon Nature Park (CCNP) can provide them with a permanent home in a natural setting while enhancing our visitors educational experience at the park.
    Informing, Educating and Inspiring
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.
    Martin Tyner
Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends.
At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.

I love the birds no matter what kind they are. Even my Brooklyn N.Y. sparrow, so misunderstood. But seriously, your animals are truly captivating to me. They are majestic, gigantic, heartwarming and heartbreaking. I will manage to put together a 20.00 monthly donation, I'd give more but I also donate to my favorite cause ASPCA. I'm a guardian. I'm also on a disability fixed income so it's sometimes hard to donate but I will figure it out. One less cake and ice cream should do it. Martin, I want your book, " healers of angels". I'm not good at all navigating my phone. I'm 62 and just got my first cell phone 1 1/2 years ago. Where can I send a money order for your book. I'm so old fashioned and I like doing things on paper, the old fashioned way. I've found you a couple of months ago. I just came across you on U-TUBE because I watch animal videos almost exclusively but I'm catching up with your videos. Thanking you in advance.🦅🦉🐳🐻🐧🐪🐘🐀🦒🦁🐯🐩🐴🐒 P.S. Martin, is that Scouts picture on your gray vehicle?? I bet it is!!!! That's so wonderful.

Not just enjoyment - you've added to what I already know about handling birds (not raptors so far) and ... THANK YOU for the comments about gloves making it harder to feel what you're doing - which I will probably misquote. I hear a lot of "Shouldn't you have gloves on!? /Where are your gloves?! You can't DO THAT without gloves!?" when I darn well can't do it "with".

I have only seen a golden eagle once. It turned out she was a chick, waiting for her parents to return. She was by a road, so we thought she might be injured. Far from that. We looked at each other in awe, for 2 minutes. Then I took out my phone, to take a pic, she showed us her butt and flew away, looking angry and dissapointed we weren't giving her a meal. She was the most impressive bird I've seen. Thanks for rescuing them

@@GowildlifeOrg Well, she was pretty angry at us. Her parents were probably making her fly for her food... And she wasn't too keen. She looked rather healthy, so she was just being a drama queen. 😜

Another great rescue thank you for all that you do for them critters and then the eagles to get them back in the wild what I don't understand is when people call you about a injured eagle why don't they hang out and wait until you get there instead of just leave the bird by itselfwe had some baby birds fly into the yard yesterday one while I was taking a nap in my wife called the wildlife rescue in Florida and they said to put it where are the animals couldn't get to it the dogs and the mama would take care of it and then when I woke up I was sitting out here on the back deck and one come walking up just a little baby but it had its wings so we put it in a box and you could hear the mama chirping over in the trees and the baby was tripping back so we took it over there and put it underneath the tree and sure enough the mama flew down there a Confederate and then it flew off after a little bit I guess they just left the nest and we're learning how to fly thank you be safe

It's different with each case whether people stay around or not. Sometimes people take a lot of time to make sure the critter gets to the right hands.

I think this first medical examination or survey of the bird found ( joins of bones of the wings, paws, chest bones, bean) - may be believed as a primary standart in examination of the birds. Thank you very much.

Can we try to get a video of Scout preening Martin? I know it's not an easy thing to time but it's just so cool that he accepts Martin as strange non-flying bird and wants to do bird things to him like fixing his feathers. It's amazing.

He does these things at random times, hard to get solely his tricks. There's a bit here: ua-cam.com/video/eRz7-GUKUtI/v-deo.html

    • @69Dartman
      @69Dartman 5 років тому +1

My parrots when they have chosen and trust me will touch, taste, preen, and gently beak me so a golden eagle that has decided he trusts and cares for Martin would do that seeing how he would do similar to another eagle he trusts. It's how they interact with each other and show their version of they care for them. No matter what kind of bird your dealing with you have to read their body language or you might have a very bad day, especially with any bigger bird as much worse damage. Even if they have imprinted on you they can have a bad day and so will you if you don't know to back off.
