Years from now when I think about Okami, the first image that'll pop into my mind is the white wolf streaking across the field with a flurry of golden flowers trailing behind, and this song playing. It's such a beautiful experience.

THIS is, for me, the best game of all time. Hands down. There's no Ocarina of Time, nor FFVII, nor GTA IV (meh) that could stand his way. I sinked in it almost 100 hours and I was always entertained from the beginning to the end. everything it's top notch from music to graphic, from pure gamepaly to artistic direction. the story also it's great and managed to bring Japanese mythology to a wider audience. this is really a masterpiece and should deserve a sequel! come on platinum games!!! move your ass!!!! :O

Since some people here don't know when the second part plays, I'll explain it. The composers wanted to put an athmospheric soundtrack into the game. So early in the morning when everything's calm and still cold, the music playing is also calm. (0:00-3:08) But later when it's noon and afternoon, more instruments like drums are used and the melody is a lot more exciting. (starts at 3:12) If you now enter Shinshu or Taka, the music in the beginning is also different. (partially 3:08-3:12)
My parents got this game for me on the Christmas after it was released for Wii. I didn't touch it until 59 day ago. After venturing through these fields, having so many challenging battles, witnessing the love, tragedy, and hilarity of this game I wish I had started playing it when I first got it. So many year I could have been playing and so many years of playing to come!

Wow, at first I thought it was just a simple loop, but as I listened more closely I realized it was building up with more instrumental variation. I never noticed this while playing the game, yet the background music always sounded fresh, and now I understand why. There's some real subtle genius at work here.
Okami taught me an incredible real-life lesson: That is to slow down and just enjoy life. Countless games boast about having intense action, but Okami is one of the few non-puzzle/sandbox games that teaches you to relax and smell the flowers every now and then. That life is about the slow growth of peace and nature, not a high-powered, energy-packed ride. And those moments of action teaches you that that right of slowing down is worth fighting, and possibly dying, for.
Thank you for having/uploading these musics! I just loved Okami so much and i can now listen to the amazing tracks over and over again. (especially when doing homework, it kinda relaxes me.) Again thank you.
I haven't played this game since I finished it around November last year. And even though I thoroughly enjoyed it back then, I've found myself appreciating it more and more after I actually finished it. It's climbing up my favourite games of all time list. The music, artwork and stunning locations in this game are just beautiful. This piece in particular whilst looking over Shinshu Plains is just superb. A timeless classic.

i remeber the merchant that sells stushinshu plains. When u first meet him he says "if u find any treasure please give it to me." ever since then, ive made it a sort of tradition to always go back to shinshu fields and sell him the treasures that i found not to any other merchant just him. such memories.....

I totakky agree. I had never heard of Okami until the Wii release, and I saw the art style and had to snap this up as soon as I heard it was a Zelda style adventure. I am pleased the Wii release has made this game slightly more known. With all the games out now days, it easy easy for games to sip by people.

What really got me at the end of Okami is the feeling of regret that I finally reached the end of my journey in Nippon.. But then came Okamiden! I'm playing that right now, and it's just as great as the original, imo.
I don't know why Okami never had the best publicity. In my opinion, Okami is the best video game ever made. All of the music producers are geniuses and the gameplay is magnificent. Long live Okami!
It's been nearly 7 years since this game was released and yet it's still the game with unarguably best graphics ever. Not to mention about the unique story and heavenly soundtrack, I guess.
I went into this game thinking it was going to be something to tide me over between Zelda console games. Now I think Zelda will be something to tide me over between Okami games. This game is amazing! I could type paragraph after paragraph about how amazing this is - story, humour, style, art style, landscape design, battle system and so forth.
@zak832 Not necessarily, the game suggests, during the *spoilers* time travel sequence that Shiranui had a lot to due before defeating Orochi, such as findig the Celestial Envoy, also, they could add more to it leading up to Orochi being the final boss. Remember, Shiranui was on Nippon for quite a while before defeating Orochi.
GET OKAMI!!!! I guarantee you you will enjoy it more than those other games. I have a ps3 and many awesome games, but once I got Okami, none of them could compare...I've finished it, but still play it.

I can see a lot of people still thinking video game music would be all bleeps and bloops but they have been real songs, with real melodies even since the 8-Bit era, I think music in games really took a turn for the better in the PS1 days of JRPGs. A majority of Final Fantasy music is fantastic and really set the bar for other game soundtracks.
This made grinding for Demon Fangs that much more bearable... and what better place to get them than the first...er, stage... level... overworld thing, whatever you wish to call it. It's so happy, and it's so much fun to just utterly destroy every monster in Shinshu Plains. xD
Okami is truly unique.... of all the games I know... it's the only one that fills me with joy EVERYTIME I play it. I mean, I love other games, but very often, they seem a bit less attracting with each replay. Okami never did that to me. So yeah, this game is pure art, pure fun, pure ownage !

When I got my Wii a few weeks ago, the very first game I got was Okami! It is truelly the best game I've ever played, the graphics are beautiful and so is the music. (This song is my favorite one. x3 )

This song is just so beautiful and i think under looked, Okami Amaterasu did a great job at restoring Shinshu Field to its beauty!
And don't even get me started on that one artist from Hong Kong...that guy was a master as far as I remember seeing. His artwork was so epic!
