You can often tell the scale of a game and how long you're expected to spend in each area by the length of each track in the OST. The fact that Shinshu Field goes for so long without looping shows just how big and detailed that area is.
I wouldn't be surprised if Masami purposely designed the first part to last as long as a morning in the world of Okami with the second part taking up the rest of the day. I'll have to test it out to be certain but it'd be pretty cool if he did. Hell, even if he didn't it's still a brilliant track that makes me long for warm summer days out in the fields.

My favorite is Ryoshima Coast. Best non-battle background music in the game.
I'd have to say this was the best game ever created. It's visually pleasing, the music is an ear orgasm, and it at times can even teach us lessons. Long live Amaterasu.

Okami is the most creative and beautiful game of all time.
It may not be the best, but it is touching, beautiful and most creative - the graphics, the story, the music... the music. I mean, that was really a touching story. And the music..! Did I mention the music?!

It's more than good. It's actually a masterpiece that is one of the greatest video games ever made that I would also call it Legend of Zelda meets Mulan.

No game has impacted me emotionally more than this one. Whenever I buy a singleplayer-only game I usually end up questioning the worth of it after the first playthrough, but not Okami. Best game I've played in a very long time and will remain my uncontested personal favorite video game.

I just bought this on the Nintendo switch today. I played a little bit of it on the PlayStation 3. And I played a good chunk out of Okamiden but never got around to actually playing the full game myself. I'm glad I got this
I just realized that a version of this game for the Wii U with the gamepad being used for the celestial brush would be amazing.

For me, this was by far the most memorable song in all of Okami. I remember sitting on the floor while playing on the WII and listened to this for hours, I didn't even really progress in the game.
I just recently got the HD version for my PC and when I finally reached hearing this song, I remember smiling from ear to ear because it was so nostalgic and it was so heartwarming, especially from 4:15 to 4:40
Capcom really did an amazing job with this game and its soundtrack, I believe it is a very memorable experience to have gone through as a kid, and now that I'm old enough, it's much more fun because I can actually understand what's going on and... Issun's perverted but amazing humor
Note: Monster Hunter's music was always enjoyable but... This is beyond that in my opinion
i feel like all three overworld themes in okami have adventurous vibes, but they’re different kinds....
shinshu is happy/triumphant adventurous, ryoshima is sorrowful/anxious adventurous, and kamui is angry/determined adventurous
Now that her deeds in killing demons are done, the great goddess Amaterasu browses youtube and resolves conflicts! Amazing!

One of the best games of all time. Absolutely beautiful, unique, fun, and interesting. Japanese culture is so rich and full of beauty, and this game showcases it so well.

It's been 15 years since I first heard this track, playing Okami at 9 years old in the basement, staying up late into the night simply captivated by the game's beauty. To this day, it elicits the same sense of wonder in me. This song is everything.
This makes me think of running with Ammy, on a plain covered in flowers and dragons in the sky. The sun begins to rise.

This reminds me of when I used to watch my brother play this game endlessly all day on the Wii.

God, I remember the first time I listened to this, I immediately thought "Wow, what a beautiful piece of music!" and while it fits Shinshu Field perfectly, somehow I kept getting this feeling melancholy in the background, and it made me visualize someone traveling in the dead of winter with a heavy heart. God,if they set Shinshu Field in the winter, it would've been the perfect amalgamation of song and set piece. As it is though, it's simply moving. Genuinely tugs at the heartstrings.
This is one of my favorite songs in the game. I go to Shinshu field and have Ami fall asleep there while i listen to this ;)

yea it only takes 2 hours to draw a circle on the ps2 when i can draw one in half a second with a wiimote (because i know how to use a wiimote unlike you it seems)
Wiimotes are awkward no matter what game you use them on.
Burger Bun Gaming No, it does depend. For a game like Okami or Skyward Sword it actually works, but on Brawl (bad game) it doesn't work at all. Let alone Project M (favorite game).

So many great memories...Blowing things up with cherry bombs, walking across wind-tossed banners, executing a wall jump for the first time...This game had it all. Can't wait to relive it all with the HD rerelease.

Not to mention their both very different styles of gameplay with a different mood and setting. You can't exactly compare them.
and yes, the stories aren't comparable (Sonic is more about having fun than having remarkable story), but the point is that they get through the cutscenes while progressing the stories at a good speed, whereas Okami seems to have some long, dragging cutscenes.
I love this song. It's a great song to listen to whenever you can. Perfect for Okami!

I've always been a spot on Nintendo fan. I always thought that outside of Nintendo, the only games that would be around would be first person shooters. It is what's most popular. However, after picking up this game, it's changed my mind. I started out with only Mario, expanding to zelda, then metroid, but Okami is probably the game that expanded my video game views the most.
My favorite theme in the game
I only played this back in February 2007 and yet it seems ages ago. What a game though! Easily one of the best I've ever played.
Trust me, you WANT to goof around in this game if you want to find additional brush techniques, earn some praise and find all the stray beads. Also I sometimes get distracted because I'm blooming dead patches and trees. Also thanks for the hint about the secret spring!!!! :)
