    Your advice is solid. Been having serious anxiety since i graduated and it has been more than half a year without a job. Mostly bc im not putting in the effort anymore. Interviews have been a focus of my anxiety this year and it makes me break down. I know it looks very trivial, but it's just what's happening. Your advice has been very eye opening though. Turning this away from it being about me and more what can be done for others is a very eloquent way to put it. Im no longer crying now, my heart is soothed and mind is calm and recuperating. Thanks for being non judgemental too, i heard no point where you look down on us. Thanks for lifting us up

    Those are great points, and you should also add skills and experience. Especially nowadays employers look if you have some experience doing the tasks at hand, or they won't hire you. you need Canadian experience, a lot of businesses won't train you anymore like they used to do. So I encourage you guys to go out and do voluntary work in your field, or do an internship to gain experience. The qualities she listed are important to have, but a company will not hire you only based on that.

      @@jaybrown4444 definitely!!! Skills and experience are very important 100%. And volunteering is such a good way to gain them. But to get the volunteer position I think people will have to follow the advice of being of service hahaha! But still, definitely there are very real and applicable sides to this I didn’t cover like: resume format, specific interview questions, past job experience and education. I’ll cover them in my follow up video!

      I also need to talk about a lot of job sites nowadays filtering keywords through AI and things like this. Thank you for making me think further on how to expand on these concepts, and thanks a ton for your comment

      @@SahelSarai Being of service is after you get the job lol. Yes, you have to be of service or you will get fired. But you need experience first on your resume to even get an interview. You won't get an interview if you can't list any past experience on your resume. That's what I mean. Experience leads to getting an interview and a job.

    • @SahelSarai
      @SahelSarai  2 місяці тому

      @@jaybrown4444 not necessarily! You can list volunteer experience or other skills as I mention in the video from helping anyone to any capacity. But I will follow up because those hard skills are important too.

      @@SahelSarai Yes volunteering is still work, you're working on gaining experience in your particular field, that's why I initially mentioned people should get volunteering experience if they haven't worked with a company before. Any experience in that particular field will get you the job.

    I haven't finished the video, but I kid you not the way I have needed this video. !!!! I am not in Canada, I am in the US, but I needed something like this video for the past few weeks. I am trying to find a (any) job as an undergrad student and it is both daunting and difficult. Thank you for putting any type of advice on this out there for people like me. ❤
    EDIT: Yes to the follow-up video!!! I loved all the advice you gave. I even downloaded some apps for more strategic job hunting in the next few days. Thank you for being transparent, spcifically about not being a good fit for every position. I am not great at high paced environmwnrs because of my anxiety, but I can do almost anything in a slow-moderately paced workspace. Lots of love your way. ❤❤❤

You are so much more capable than you think and I’m sure you will find something. I definitely will film a follow up video expanding on these points, I’m filming a video a day every day of July so there are plenty of opportunities! ♥️♥️

      @@SahelSarai Thank you for your kind words! And for the future follow-up! I am in a larger US city, and sometimes it feels challenging to radiate confidence at employers when all I get told as a Gen Z person is that employers/corporations are not trustworthy or worth putting in the effort for, so I truly am grateful for your gentle yet insightful advice. I am trying to break free of the workplace pessimism that permeates social media, so hearing that I can just be providing a service and not take every action an employer or recruiter takes personally or pessimistically is relieving. 🥰❤️ Wishing you all the continued success! And I hope more people like me find this video.

    Service mentality (Slave) = opposite of entrepreneur (Master) mentality. Choose wisely, one could end up in a lifetime job, the other could end up you being a billionaire. You don't need a job, you need money. Never get into Slave mentality, you'll never become a rich person.

    • @SahelSarai
      @SahelSarai  3 місяці тому +6

      @@prtygrl5077 that’s actually the opposite of what I’ve found. Being of service is the best way to get money and it is only a slave mentality if you let it be. Actually, taking ownership of your own work and taking pride in it with the intention to use your skillset in the future is the opposite of slave mentality.

      @@SahelSaraithe best entrepreneurs are certainly *not* “masters” (except over themselves and their craft) , but most certainly people providing useful *service*
      Thinking that “service” equals “slavery” will never get you (or keep you) there I promise.
      solving my problem is service, and that, as a customer, what I want, not for you to be my mythical “master” over my problem.
      Not sure if it was your intention Sahel but this is solid entrepreneurial advice (that seems to be missing and needs to be unearthed again for many struggling to make a way for themselves)

    • @SahelSarai
      @SahelSarai  3 місяці тому +3

      @@madimakes Thank you for your reply! I completely agree. When your focus is on the customer and their needs, not only does this allow for better service in general, but a feeling of gratitude and appreciation that flows both ways and I would much rather have that be the driving force of my business than feeling like some kind of master.
      I did not intend for this to be entrepreneurial at all! I'm still very much figuring out my own business, but I have noticed that this mindset has always opened doors for me and I have nothing but gratitude for this lesson I've learned.

      employers HATE nonbinary people and avoid employing them at all costs. If they do accept you you have a beyond exceptional skill set. They're not gonna hire a doofus whose existence they consider a liability. you were very lucky.
