Hey Aaron. I wanted to let you know that I just ordered my first skateboard. Ordered it from Revive. Having watched you guys, (you, Lance, Carlos, Fetty, Gabe, Doug, et al) for around two years, I'm inspired to, at the very least, own a skateboard. I'm 58 years old and have always loved skateboarding (well watching it anyway). Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen and the rest. I'm officially putting on my bucket list to do an ollie. I'd die a happy man. Love you guys. Best of everything to you all.
I used to skate pro decks in the 80s and had the best time of my life! I am 45 years old now and seriously thinking about getting back into it. So you are a legend Andrew for starting! I wish you good luck and great times! :)
That’s the whole reason I’m here no skate shops are open, so I need to get a board online, but I don’t know where. I don’t think this video will help much but eh, it’s worth a try
I recommend skatedeluxe in America And in Europe Skatepro. They both have their own skateboard creator where you can build your board from scratch. And if you want information about trucks, wheels, bearing, hardware or decks i would recommend watching a ton of UA-cam videos and reading a lot of websites. I also just bought my first skateboard during corona times and i can reccomend you my setup if you want. Decks, Girl, 8.25, Girl Kennedy 3D OG Skateboard - € 59,95 Trucks, Independent, 149, Independent Polished Silver Stage 11 - € 34,95 P/P Wielen, Spitfire, 54mm, Spitfire Formula Four Tablets Wheels Natural 101D 54mm - € 54,95 Hardware, Thunder, 7/8 inch, Thunder Phillips Hardware 7/8 Inch - € 4,95 Lagers, Bones Bearings, Bones Reds Bearings - € 22,50 in total around 210 because trucks don’t come together where i am from I got my griptape free. Also i heard from friends that you could buy the same setup in America for 100. If you need more help just answer and i will try my best.
This is how you get people to respect skating, but what I'm trying to say you guys keep continuing being respectful. Skaters don't have the best reputation. This is why Braille Skateboarding and the crew are inspiring everyone across the globe. They teach us the basics of skateboarding. Thanks guys. EDIT: 5 YEARS AGO! 🤯
DekuShredz I was just skating today trying some curb stuff on a pretty dead street with no traffic. A woman told me there was a park for that. I ignored her until she commented on how I was kicking my board up into my hand. She said “don’t be so lazy and pick it up”. I rolled over to her and asked her why she is being such a bully. Skaters are disrespectful because we are discriminated against at every turn. I pay taxes so shut your mouth. Lol

I’m a 54 year old, young at heart cyclist that has always been fascinated with skateboarding. I stumbled upon your videos, and now I’m hooked. You have convinced me that I need to make the plunge and learn how to skate. I’m not interested in becoming a trickster, I just want to learn the basics and enjoy the ride. I broke 4 ribs in a cycling accident in June, so I’m not afraid of taking the hits. I Just wanted to say thank you for the inspiration, and keep up the good work.
You guys honestly have been getting me into skateboarding more and more each time I watch your videos, & maybe hopefully I could get a decent board and start skating. Very encouraging!
Most people/pros skate from 8.0 - 8.5. I wouldn't go any smaller than 8.0, it will feel plenty narrow & light and flip very fast & easy. Most usual deck sizes for street skating are 8.0, 8.25 & 8.5. Also for beginners I always suggest slightly bigger & softer wheels (54-56mm, 80-90a), so riding your skateboard in the streets actually makes fun and doesn't become torture with every crack or pebble.
From what I can tell, skinnier boards (7.75) are heavier and a bit harder to flip, but they have more landing room and you'll probably feel more stable. Hopefully this helps someone determine preference👍🏼😁
@@keko8151 i got a 8 because my feet probably will still grow but its a bit big for now so if u think ur feet has finished growing then get a 7.75 or if u want to do tricks immediately and ur feet is still growing u can also get a 7.75 and switch to 8 later on

Well guys, I just turned 35 last week. was a fan of skateboarding earlier due to the THPS games, but never got a board for myself. After almost two decades I stumbled over your videos on YT and it reignated my interest. So I bought my first board and took it out for the first time today. It's a crappy one from China, I wanted to try it and see if I like it, but I have to say i'm about to order a proper one. The first night tryout was sooo much fun! I was just rolling down the cycling bridge over the railway in our town, had my first fall, first chinner and all of that. And it was a fun workout as well ;) So thank you for your videos, hope I'll stick with it and have a nice one ;)
I remember trying to learn to ollie on a Wal-Mart board when I started skating. The grip tape and nose were useless and I repeatedly either kicked the board back to the ground or popsicled. I never really learned to ollie right. Sixteen years later, I started watching Braille Skateboarding. I put together a Revive complete and am finally able to ollie properly, albeit w/o moving.

(19yo) Have had penny boards from younger and realised just recently I've been mongo pushing. I'm finding it really difficult to switch to regular but gotta master that before starting tricks. Been using a cruiser board that my grandma found dumped and hoping to buy a regular board soon.
Hi, First let me say that I truly enjoy the videos u guys do. Thanks u so much for properly educating those of us wanting to learn. So here is my story, I am 39 yrs old and was once pretty passionate about skating. A looooong time ago. But I lost about 20 yrs of life due to a bad choice I made long ago. See around the same time I found skating to be my true love, I also made the stupid choice to try Drugs. Well I was not able to walk away , and before I knew what I had done I found myself in a HORRIBLE, daily HELL of drug addiction. See, I lost all hope and dreams of anything I once loved, all my life consisted of was feeding my addiction for a lil more than 20 yrs. Loosing touch with my true self, my loved ones, and ANYTHING I held dear to my heart. Well here we are a few decades later, and I am FINNALY a sober man!! How ever I am having trouble finding those things that I loved, those things that made me whole. I have purchased a cheap board from Wal-Mart, but I just CAN NOT find myself With this soars. I am wondering if u guys had an old boats set up just maybe laying around that, u would consider donating to a man's journey, and walk through a happier more self worth life. If not I totally understand, at least I had the chance to tell u Thank u and please keep up the positive work u do!!! Thanks again, Sam Bodden
watching your channel i have started skating again, i bought an element board from amazon and have started learning to kickflip again even after like 5 years of not skating i still can ollie about 3 feet! keep up the work braille!
@uhチュンチュンマル no please 4 your own good get independent trucks and spitfire formula 4 wheels. Get whatever board feels good under your feet. Get jessup grip.
Just started myself. Im 31 years old and have a blown eardrum. So I have a HORRIBLY hard time with equilibrium. But I'm determined af and my local skate shop has been very helpful. Thanks for hyping me up Braille. About a year now and at least I can ride without eating shit every 3 seconds :)
Love your videos! I've been surfing for 5 years now and am looking to get back on a skateboard. It's been close to 10 years since I have been on a regular deck. "I still longboard" your videos have been a huge motivator for me because you make skating fun. Being older now at 26 I don't feel the pressure to impress like when I diched skating in highschool. Just wanted to say thanks and love the videos.
It is just one complete board is 100$, a normal deck is 50$ and wheels are about 30$ good Bearings can be 10-20$ so it accurate not including trucks and griptape
I had a board but I never knew it was one of the cheap ones and broke on me and wasted my money and also hard to find a revive skateboard in UK. a complete revive skateboard
thanks Thomas for advice but i didn't understand the word you were saying i don't know the stuff about skateboard. but thankx dude ill take it in mind.
Hey man, it’s been years since I’ve had a skateboard. I’ve been crushing on my penny forever but I think I want to get back into skate boarding. Thanks big fella!!!
I skate spitfire fireliner 54mm and I think they're a 98A, and they're great for park or smooth pavement like sidewalks. As far as asphault they're pretty rough and uncomfortable. As far as park is concerned, 98-100 is probably ideal
Im considering buying myself a skateboard for my 39th birthday lol. I havent owned one since i was 13 years old. My goal is to learn to ollie once and for all!!!! I could always ride one really well but no ollie :( il probably refer to your instructional videos as it seems like you are the best one to teach me. Keep up the good work and i enjoy your stuff!
I don't have ze moneys T-T I have a skateboard I bought in some sport shop 4 times cheaper than in a skateshop guess I need to suffer some time before I can afford a real skateboard
When I started skating 3 years ago I wanted to buy kneepads and they where 120 dollars. Then I was like why is skating so expensive. But soooooooooooooo fun.
i just watched a lot of your vids and i asked for 2 months for 200 dollars to get my own board and barely today they gave me 200 dollars to get a board and the reason i asked is because you got me into skating. Thanks man and keep up the good work #Braille skateboarding.#805.
Independent trucks, mob grip tape, bones reds Barrings, ricta clouds 78a wheels, 8.25 deck is the perfect begginer set up I have the same set up and it's perfect
Soft Riser pads Reduce the amount of shock that travels up your legs when you perform tricks off of high obstacles. As for hard riser pads, they allow you to have larger wheels as they reduce the risk of wheelbite. But you must remember to get longer bolts if the risers are more then 1/8th of an inch thick.
i'd love to have the confidence to skate bowls. I've been making progression videos at my local skate park but i'm yet to fully commit on things like dropping in etc.
You're suppose to feel like you're trying. You cant just be amazing right as you start out. You have to get better, and after you get tricks down, you'll have a ton of fun
If you starting and your under 14ish get a 8.0 and 8.25 if you older because you will learn to flick your tricks instead of kicking down which is easy on a small board, I skate a 8.5 but that’s me
i am getting a skateboard soon you got me into skateboarding!!!! and since im a beginner im going to get a complete but if i start turning pro and its like my 2 to 3 skateboard i will make it myself, i subscribed and love ur merch!!! sick bro

I have purchased a cheap board from Wal-Mart, but I just CAN NOT find myself
With this soars. I am wondering if u guys had an old boats set up just maybe laying around that, u would consider donating to a man's journey, and walk through a happier more self worth life.
If not I totally understand, at least I had the chance to tell u Thank u and please keep up the positive work u do!!!
Thanks again,
Sam Bodden
watching your channel i have started skating again, i bought an element board from amazon and have started learning to kickflip again even after like 5 years of not skating i still can ollie about 3 feet! keep up the work braille!
when i started skating i was like 16 with a size 14 shoe and had a 7.5.... hard to get used to but the flips were great! u just better land centered
Why am i watching this? I already skate
@uhチュンチュンマル no please 4 your own good get independent trucks and spitfire formula 4 wheels. Get whatever board feels good under your feet. Get jessup grip.
uhチュンチュンマル
I know this is old but my shoe size is 5 and half, my height is 5,2, what board do I get?
Tiffany you would probably want something like a size 7 deck
GotStuckInABottle
Thank youuu 😊

I once got a ticket for riding my skateboard across the road when I was 12 years old.
Who would of thought?
Just wanted to say thanks and love the videos.
no hate on the channel but if you want peope to buy from your website you should definitely make stuff more affordable.
It is just one complete board is 100$, a normal deck is 50$ and wheels are about 30$ good Bearings can be 10-20$ so it accurate not including trucks and griptape
MEME BOIS I agree, it’s affordable in terms of a good quality skateboard, but to those just starting out, I ain’t dropping more than $30
i really want a skateboard but i need a guide on what i should get and im a teen
What questions do you have I should be able to help
I had a board but I never knew it was one of the cheap ones and broke on me and wasted my money and also hard to find a revive skateboard in UK. a complete revive skateboard
thanks Thomas for advice but i didn't understand the word you were saying i don't know the
stuff about skateboard. but thankx dude ill take it in mind.
thanks Thomas H
im size 10 nearly any trucks will be fine hard wheels really and in give the price in pound bro thanks.
I learned an ollie on a 20$ board from my local toy store lol
Wessel love ur profile pic 😂😂
Nice name
I learned on a 5yo walmart board
Learned on a super old ratchet board from a thrift store
Same lol
Saw this video and went straight to the online Braille shop, Aaron you’re a true role model and inspiration. Much love ❤️
Hey man, it’s been years since I’ve had a skateboard. I’ve been crushing on my penny forever but I think I want to get back into skate boarding. Thanks big fella!!!
Im getting my first board this Saturday from Zumiez.😀😀😀
Acedecus I’m thinking of doing the same thing. Did you get it?
@@dangeroussneeze66 yes, i got my new board! 😀🤙
Acedecus cool dude. 🤙rock it, I’m trying to buy my first in the summer.
@Emma _ yes, its form zumiez. Its been a week now since i had it and i can already kickflip.😀😀
Acedecus what did they ask you? and how much was it? sorry im just super nervous to go. did it come with the wheels and everything?
How hard/soft should your wheels be for smooth cement at a skatepark or at the Braille house?
Brenton Bolderoff softer handles rough terrain better i'd recommend bones stf wheels or bones spf if you'll be at the skatepark mostly
If you're going to a park use hard wheels
If you're starting off get 99a it's fast but grippier and more forgiving than 100a-101a
Around 100a
I skate spitfire fireliner 54mm and I think they're a 98A, and they're great for park or smooth pavement like sidewalks. As far as asphault they're pretty rough and uncomfortable. As far as park is concerned, 98-100 is probably ideal
I'm eating a can of tuna
Have a good day internet!
I have a shoe
I'm brushing my teeth
i have covid
I like cheese
I ate a rat
Im getting my first board later today, thank you so much for this information!! love you guys
Keep up the good work and i enjoy your stuff!
what online shops do you recommend for getting ur first board
I don't have ze moneys T-T
I have a skateboard I bought in some sport shop
4 times cheaper than in a skateshop
guess I need to suffer some time before I can afford a real skateboard
When I started skating 3 years ago I wanted to buy kneepads and they where 120 dollars. Then I was like why is skating so expensive. But soooooooooooooo fun.
I first learned basics (I mean really basic like balance and how to push) on my long board and I'm buying my first real skateboard today im so excited
It’s amazing how such a simple concept can be so fun
I have just started skateboarding so i watch every skateboard video from you! They are btw amazing
nice soundtrackXD
you could do a stupid skate with coke cleaned bearings.
only a thought though.
i just watched a lot of your vids and i asked for 2 months for 200 dollars to get my own board and barely today they gave me 200 dollars to get a board and the reason i asked is because you got me into skating. Thanks man and keep up the good work #Braille skateboarding.#805.
I rollerblade a lot and Im thinking about trying out a skateboard, never did it before but it looks so cool.
What about spacers between bearings? Greetz from germany.
If your parts don't come with them, don't worry about buying them they're nice to have, but not necessary
I forgot about spacers. Haven't used them in about 10yrs
Ich bin auch aus Deutschland hehe
Oh nazis!
Chaingrinder BrUdEr mUsS LoS
Skate a 10.9 board
that my friend is a boat. (in my opinion, i'm not a skater to know any lingo)
9+ plus is where its at fam.
also I think they might've done that in their "super massive 12in wide skateboard" video.
They already skated a door.
Random Kid bruh
I started skateboarding today
Nikolai how is it going?
How u doin?
I think his ded xD
R.I.P, death - 5 minutes into skateboarding fell and broke his neck
How’s it going so far
Independent trucks, mob grip tape, bones reds Barrings, ricta clouds 78a wheels, 8.25 deck is the perfect begginer set up I have the same set up and it's perfect
I picked 8.25 instead of 8 and I am really happy. A lot more stable for me as a beginner and easier to push around.
this was really helpful now i just need to convince my dad to get me one lol
i have a question about wheels, should i do normal wheels or can i do more of street gummy wheels, does it matter that much?????/
ayezayeuh it doesn’t matter all that much, but normal wheels are a lot better in my opinion.
those Gummi wheels are better for just cruising, but if you wanna do Tricks go get the normal wheels
How to breath - The easiest way tutorial
Braille Skateboarding
You are a too good skateboard teacher I am inspired by you braille skateboarding
Im getting my first board soon and so hyped for it! These videos help so much !
I skated my brothers board until it got lost in a river.. and now i dont know what to purchase
I learned the hard way by picking a fairly smooth grip tape......
Hope everything is okay now
Risers ?
They aren't necessary some people like them but its purely a preference thing
Soft Riser pads Reduce the amount of shock that travels up your legs when you perform tricks off of high obstacles. As for hard riser pads, they allow you to have larger wheels as they reduce the risk of wheelbite. But you must remember to get longer bolts if the risers are more then 1/8th of an inch thick.
I'm a bowl and vert skater who rides really loose trucks 1/4" risers mean you never have to worry about wheel bite
i'd love to have the confidence to skate bowls. I've been making progression videos at my local skate park but i'm yet to fully commit on things like dropping in etc.
No
Quarantine made me discover this channel. Gonna learn skateboarding
Between quarantine, Betty and Skate kitchen has pumped me up to want to skate so badly!
I want a board to chill and ride on and maybe do some tricks, but everytime i skate i feel like i try too much and dont enjoy the moment
You're suppose to feel like you're trying. You cant just be amazing right as you start out. You have to get better, and after you get tricks down, you'll have a ton of fun
Maybe get a longboard? If you just want to cruise but also have some fun and do a couple tricks a longboard would be perfect for you.
custom insoles vs normal insoles
now all i need is money
Thank you so much!! You did a great job with explaining everything I needed to know! 🙏
Just started skating yesterday ... Will get a first good board next week in a store... Using currently an old one for children haha 😅
If you starting and your under 14ish get a 8.0 and 8.25 if you older because you will learn to flick your tricks instead of kicking down which is easy on a small board, I skate a 8.5 but that’s me
Oh okay - that's good advice :D
I’m 13, shoe size 10 and I skate an 8.25 deck
Henry Angell I wish I started at your age. I feel old trying to get into skateboarding at 26. I'm also a size 10 and picked up an 8.25.
Ike Buttle great, almost 14, size 9-10, planning to get 8.0 deck
I'm restarting skateboarding after a few years and I'm riding an old 7.5 and I have a 9 shoe size. I'm planning to get a 8.0.
I wish me a Board from Amazon for Christmas
Maxim amazon boards are awful don't get one
Joe Malone also J have got a Cruiser Board from Amazon and I Love it.
Maxim skateboards are different. Whatever floats your boat, though.
We'll see what happens :)
Got a Landyacht Longboard of Amazon(Switchblade 38). I'm very pleased with it.
lol.
I'm getting a 22,78$ board xD

Thanks, for sending shivers down my spine.
Thanks for this video. I’m planning on learning how to skateboard and this is very helpful
Mexican music in the background 😂 I’m Mexican
I remember in middle school I stole my first skateboard.😈
Omg, wow. So metal and cool
/s
Ok
For help on the trucks, ordering them from amazon in the description it should say the width so you can match it to your board easier.
Thank you for your guide did help me to choose my first board .
i am getting a skateboard soon you got me into skateboarding!!!! and since im a beginner im going to get a complete but if i start turning pro and its like my 2 to 3 skateboard i will make it myself, i subscribed and love ur merch!!! sick bro
