Over 50 here! Been skateboarding for almost 3 years now. I love it! Started learning with my son when he was 8. Now my 7 year old is starting to learn. Mad fun!
I'm 53 and living with stage 4 cancer. I'd wanted to get back into skating for a long time, but now I'm finally doing it and having lots of fun. Life is too short not to do the things you want to do!
Don't make the same mistake that I made. I am 49. Two years ago, I did not spend enough time reacquiring my balance and board control. I was able to do some decent ollies. So I tried to do a kickflip. Ended up going primo and falling down. This awkward landing on my board broke my foot at the arch. I had to use a knee scooter for 3 months and put no weight on my left foot. I will get back on someday soon. But I will take my time this go. Get that balance and control first. Then slowly work your way up to tricks that involve any kind of jumping. That's just my two cents.
gotta give braille a huuuuge thank you, at 19 i decided to learn to skate and i tried to drop in a month ago but i was scared. u guys gave me the confidence i needed to sprain my ankle and both my wrists, get a concussion, puke, pass out, spit blood, and not be able to walk for 3 weeks
This is the stuff, why i started watching you guys. Love it!!!!! Saw your how to kick flip tutorial a thousand times the last 2 months and finally my 46 year old back foot lifted and landed a few of them last Saturday. Thank you for teaching the world to skate.
Awesome dude!!! Congrats on landing a kickflip!!! 🛹👊🏼 I'm still working on mine, hopefully someday soon I make it! Comments like yours are always great to see, inspire me to keep trying. So, THANK YOU
My 2 year old daughter saw my skateboard in storage and asked "wha dis dada?" When I said Skateboard she repeated it like 20 times we got out once last year before winter hit and just got back out this past weekend. It was so cool to have her ride with me and to hold her hand while she rides at almost 2 and a half....my old 7.75 ccs blank is sketching me out so I'm thinking it's time for an 8.75 to stay stable and dial in some ollies to be able to ride anywhere and everywhere. Definitely going to get her a 7.00 mini so we can ride together. I appreciate that you're not talking to me in this video but I'll be checking out the Ollie tips to relearn and clean up my rolling tricks. Thank you Aaron and Braille for keeping it simple and getting people skating. Make America Skate Again lol
Dude I'm 28 and I noticed recently that 8.25 is heavy! Now granted I'm not the tallest but still I Skate 8.0 and it feel's fantastic. @@michaelkrauer1286
43 here and I still ride bmx, skateboard, and snowboard..... in my biking career I had 38 broken bones, hit by 3 cars, and wrecked 4 times at speeds over 45mph... in my years of skateboarding I've had many accidents including one that left me with 3 breaks in my left arm and 5 in my right hand, snowboarding hasn't been much different, torn rotator cuffs, back issues, sprains, etc... and just a part of being the human I am... 3 strokes, brain tumor, kidney disease, and RA. Despite all of that I ride as often as I can on anything I can. It turns out the heart and the mind are your strongest muscles. As long as my body holds out I'll be riding when I'm 90 😎
37 here. Was great in my teens. Got back into skating at 33. Fell hard thinking I could still do the same tricks and got bad elbow sprains. Learned real quick that you fall harder and take longer to heal in your 30s. Nice thing about skating in 30s is I wear a helmet and ankles braces and dont care what anyone thinks of me. While i cant do all the advanced tricks i used to do, still having a blast with what I’ve relearned. Great way to get exercise and decompress after a stressful day. Thank you for making videos like this for us older folks that need a different approach than a kid that can just “send it” and keep falling.
I'm 35 and have been at parks again because both my sons now started with riding scooters. I couldn't resist and got back on my board... Today I learned how twisting your knee hurts. I definitely need a more active lifestyle again and need to relearn a lot slower, what I once could do easily.
It’s a horrible, terrible idea to get “back into skating”. I injured myself enough in my teens and twenties, and I pay for it every morning. Start surfing, water is more forgiving than concrete and wood.
I'm 47, Found the Braille youtube channel about 6 months ago and its inspired me to get back on a skateboard 30 years after I got off the last one. Went to my first skatepark last week rolled down a steep bank twice, third time got bodied. Spent the next 45 mins battling that bank and could not commit, bailed every attempt. Videos like this provide real help to beginners. I'll head back to the park next week, knees bent weight forward.
This is exactly the type of video I need. I am turning 31 this year and I haven't stepped on my skateboard in years. I remember that I knew how to ollie and that is basically about it. So I would love to get in to it again. I get so inspired by watching your videos. I will definitely pick up my board again this summer and try.
Over 30 and started Skating in January. Carefully followed all your beginners steps and now 4 month later im starting to get really comfortable. Small steps can take you far. Looking forward on anything ahead on this journey. ✨ Thanks Aaron! Gruesse aus Deutschland
This comment is very reassuring. I thought I could just jump back on my board after 20 years and was frustrated when I wasn't getting it right away. Knowing that it takes time but that you can get there by keeping at it is a real encouragement to keep trying and take my time.
@@tonymcawesome My pleasure. Sure your muscle memory will help a lot as soon as its readjusted to the 20y later bodyfeel. Be proud of every skill you unlock and keep on having fun skating. You got it, bro!
I got my braille Golden Gate Bridge board last year. I skated most of my youth and never learned how to Ollie because they told me at the skate park. I can’t figure out how to Ollie that I can’t skate. I found your videos watch them for a year finally I got enough courage to get a braille board, and trying to learn how to Ollie again to say that after three days of practicing the basics, I finally got the board airborne! I can’t wait to get back out there and skate winter’s finally over skate parks finally not covered in ice and snow and you’re going back to the basics
Yeah, "that's me" - I stopped skating for eighteen years after doing it for maybe two and the only trick I was able to land was a very basic ollie (not even over an obstacle). Now I'm back in the game while being 34, beginning to feel comfortable landing my shuv-its and pop shuv-its and really feeling much more in control when learning the very basics properly thanks to your videos. Keep it real Aaron ✌🏻
Skateboarding was my first great love before music took over. I put my board down when I was 12... picked up guitar/drum sticks. I'm 34 now and cannot wait to finally drop in!!! I am getting my sea legs back... If I can comfortably ride the board around the park, up and down on ramps, ollie, and maybe some curb grinding...I have fulfilled my dream. Anything more with the board is a bonus! This video gives me tons of confidence. You both are great teachers! Thank you!
44 here, with Parkinson’s disease and arthritis in back! I skated street in the 90s in LA. Now I’m in Phoenix learning transition. It’s very different!
NICE! Heading to 40!!! My Knees, Ankles, and lower back hurt. Run out of steam in 15 minutes and sweat like a wholly Mammoth. Flip tricks threaten my boys below and scare me. On my way to defeat by age, but I still love it!
Cant believe ive been watching you since 9th grade high school, glad to see the og tutorial vids coming out 🙏🏾 now im 25 starting to get back into it 💪🏽
33 years old here. I needed this video! My 8 year old has been getting into skating. I haven’t touched a board in 15 years. This has given me some confidence to get back into it! Gonna try ripping it with the kid! Thanks for this!
Yes! You already know I love the beginner videos aimed at us older skaters. If you’re getting older and thinking about getting back on a board or getting on for the first time, do it! There’s no time like the present. Plus skateboarding is such a great thing you can do for yourself physically and mentally. Let’s go! 👍
Yooo! 29 here, turning 30 this summer. Havent skated since highschool and have been getting the urge to get back into it. These type of videos are def the move! Thanks Aaron
Hey! I apreaciate that you didn't extravagate the tricks like you can Aaron, like that's how begginer tic-tacs looks like, like most people when show "easy tricks" they do them smooth like butter, without taking to consideration that person learning will struggle. I started skateing when I was 33 (sidenote - I wanted to do it since I was like 10 or 11, and unfortunatelly I kept pushing it for later), now I'm almost 39, pretty comfortable on the board and having fun learning tricks, but for sure there is a difference how we learn things when we get older and I think the most tutorials are aimed towards younger audition. The plan with the schedule is super important, as few shorter sessions work better than one long, as at least in my case muscle memory doesn't want to kick in as smoothly as in cas of my younger friends :P Also the point about spliting the progress on tiny bits work pretty well and give that satisfaction of learning something new, and maybe slow but - progression. And bending knees is IMPORTANT! PS. That's the best kicturn for begginers I've ever saw :)
I'm watching this after destroying my ankle last June. I think I'm finally recovered enough and mentally ready to start the process again, perfect timing for this video. Thank you. Oh side note I'm 37.
Over 30 here! My daughter is 6 and just started skateboarding last week. I am learning with her! So scary but mostly fun! I love it:):) Thanks for the video. It was very helpful!
Yep that's me! I'm 31 and just started skating again after a 10 year break. I never learned Fronside or backside 180s or front shove. I also learned to kickflip wrong and was super inconsistent. Now I am learning correctly and I'm so much more consistent with my basic tricks than I ever was before! This video rocks!! Thanks for supporting us older skaters. I'm teaching my little one to skate with your videos as well. We are having fun!
I'm 35 and have tried to skateboard for almost 3 years straight in my very early teens. I struggled to just ride the board, and honestly never got it. I've never been able to Ollie. I was able to pop shuvit, and no joke I could flatland Casper varial flip on demand. That is it. I became so discouraged after 3 years with absolutely no progression, I gave it up. It would honestly be a dream come true to actually get a board and really progress. I'm extremely interested in getting a board and giving a serious effort at a second chance. If you want to help me, or think I may be a beneficial project to the channel, please let me know, and or help me. Thank you. I've always been a fan of skateboarding and your channel.
You posted this at exactly the right time, I'm 40 now, and my little girl got a skateboard for Christmas, and I just didn't feel like she was getting the right help while my partner and I were both on foot, so I ended up getting a skateboard too! Your video has helped me get started, and already I can see the improvement using some of the tips in this video. So, thankyou, and here's to months and months of practice to get at least semi decent!
I'm 47 and hadn't skateboarded since I was 14 when I lost right my leg above the knee from cancer and I started a week ago when I went to the opening of a local skatepark with my 14 year old and a bunch of the guys there were telling me I should just try and do it again and how they have seen some pro skateboarders that have one leg and so I got inspired started practicing with my son and I lead with my left foot and taught myself to push off with my fake leg I've been figuring out kick turns this week and getting my balance better I would like to eventually learn to Ollies, kickflips and pop shove it or shove it. So for now I'm just focusing on cruising and getting comfortable with the board!! But I'm going to tell you what it was such a great feeling to get back on a skateboard I was so happy I almost cried!!! 🛹❤😊 Thank you for all your helpful videos this one was really helpful!!
hey man, I just ordered my new skateboard yesterday to get back into it. Im now over 30 and have been skating in my teens and early twenties alot, but then completely stoped. Due to a chronical illness my fitness level is at an all time low, but I hope that with skating I can get abit healthier again. I really enjoy the video, please keep it up, Im looking forward to more. Subbed
Just got back on a board on my 30th birthday and it’s all because of these guys that I can skate as well as I can already in just a few months went from just a sometimes Ollie to hitting boardslides and a small list of flip tricks
I am 48 and visually impaired and started skating last summer. I could only skate for a few months before snow fell over here in Iceland. But I pretty much did exactly what Aaron said in this video, partially under his guidance. Then, I found an in-door skate park and started skating there and joined a skating community for older people. Since then I've been skating in a pool and dropping in. I'm so happy that I started doing this. Age and even physiological limitations can be overcome, as long as you're committed and of course safe and protected.
Love the video. I'm 45 and re started skating at 42. Mainly cruisers and Longboards. Have a lot of respect for you trick boarders. Great to see the Team GB Olympics Skate boarder is 51!
I started rolling around probably age 11 but I'm 29 this year and have been inconsistent in skating... finally getting over my fear of skating at a park and just getting in there! Thank you for these tips!
60 here. Started skating at 9. Skating again after a long absence. Building a small half pipe inside my barn (7 foot radius, 5 feet tall--shout out to Billy Rohan's mini ramp build video from 2010). Thanks for all the help, Aaron and Nigel!
I turned 30 in November, wanted to get into skating when I was younger but fell into the trap of my parents buying me one of the cheap Amazon style boards so could never pop it and gave up. Made a proper board a few years ago, main barrier I've found in the UK is the weather and how bad the roads are suited to skating. Will definitely be revisiting this in the summer when the weather gets a bit nicer, my aim is to learn to kickflip in the next year!
I’m 32. Started two and a half months ago. Dropped in on a mini ramp for the first time last week. The advice I have is to keep watching videos, wear gear always, and get advice from people you run into who skate.
Start skating now and im Over 40’ , so much fun together with my son. I will start to basic tricks like you’ve shown with your video. Thank you, it helps a lot.
Skated from age 9 to 24 then stopped when I fell off a ladder and hurt my back. I started back skating on a long board at 40 and had some fun for a while. I'm now 47 and my 4 year old son wants to learn to skate so I'm picking it up again. I am so glad I found your videos so I can get myself back on the board and teach my boy the correct way to skate. Invaluable stuff here. Thank you. ❤
32 here and I’m falling in love for skateboarding! I bought my first skate 15 days ago and I skate around 8km every day after finish my work, I’m starting doing “Tik tak” and I’m regular! I will follow all your advices!
I’m back on my board again at 38, and it’s so much fun, thanks Braille! One thing I needed to relearn was how to fall/bail, it’s definitely it’s own skill.
I’m 43. My daughter started skating classes about 9 weeks ago, after a long agonising decision process, i started skating at the local park 2 weeks later. I’m now going to the park every day. I’m going down some pretty steep banks, getting kick turns on the slopes (sometimes even getting a full 180 in one go) I can do a tiny Ollie standing still. I feel pretty comfortable skating around the streets. Still got heaps to learn, but I love it so much. I’ve lost weight and I feel strong. It’s easily the most addictive exercise I’ve ever tried. Wish I’d started 20 years ago !
I am 46 living in Bangkok and started skateboarding and learning with youtube during the COVID pandemic. I’m a bit scared of doing risky tricks(used to fall and that was hurts😅), but I find riding and simple tricks very entertaining. Skateboarding is great for balance and concentration. I hope to improve, but in my country, there aren’t many footpaths or skateparks, and the ones that do exist are a bit out of the city. 🎉
this is a better type of braille, it feels like they are growing the channel up in content. I don't feel like a child anymore or embarrassed while watching this video. it feels great keep up the hard work Aaron!!!!
35 years old and just started about 2 months ago. What you are saying about just getting out there and spending time on your board is 100% it. The more you go out and skate, the more you are going to level up. Small incremental steps is the name of the game.
Except i'll be 71. Haven't been on a board since mid '60s. Found a discarded Kryptonics board last month and have been furtively rolling around the house to the amusement of my dog (who seems to hate skateboards on the street, but he'll put forepaws up on this one?). anyhow, got a 12x18 polished concrete pad out back waiting for me to get PPE before putting your fine lesson to the test.
I’m 26 but I’ve been watching since the beginning! If you’re starting out I highly recommend watching this series! Much love all the way from Lemoore CA. 559!!😂
38 years old and decided to get back into. I tried a few years ago but didn’t stick at it - I got frustrated that I couldn’t do what I used to be able to. Recently became inspired after watching the Olympics. 3 days back at it, have gone back to basics this time after watching tutorials online and I’m actually enjoying it a lot more. Been going out twice a day doing short 20-30 min sessions getting back balance and board feel, and I have improved a lot in just this 3 days so far. I’m hoping that taking baby steps is the key and eventually it will become a regular hobby for me again.
Started skateboarding at 42, as i took my 3 year old to roll around our local skate park on a balance bike, got bored of being sat there. 6 sessions in im just a bit beyond this video.
I'm 35 and started going to the skate park with my son. So far most of the 12 year olds can outskate me. But I have been having a blast just watching myself get better slowly. Getting over the fear is probably the best part, it's like you are unlocking things you never thought possible.
Just started again after a break of about 45 years, and back then in the late 70's it was my form of transport, didn't have a bike so it was my board that I rode everywhere. So although I can ride it OK I never learnt any tricks, so just recently I have been to a couple of skate parks and they are so daunting for an old bloke. So I am taking very small baby steps, but it is so enjoyable and loving it every time.
When I was a teen, I got into skateboarding thanks to Tony Hawks pro skater, landed poorly a few times and got too afraid. Didn't go into the basics or anything, just try to rush it all. But recently just got a cruiser and an old 80s skateboard, just to get around, at 37, using to help myself get over the fear of everything. It's been amazing.
Great video, thank you Aaron! I’m 53 and my 10 year old son has gotten into skateboarding so that means I’m now learning as well. Your videos are a great help for both of us - cheers!
I am 49. I skateboarded for many years in the 1980s. Today my younger son (9) asked me about the board. Tomorrow we're going to the store. Life is beautiful. Greetings from Poland.
Learned to downhill longboard 13 years ago. Gave it up after a year when I came home from college. Picked up a popsicle board last year. 32 and I’ve got a few decent Ollie’s and close to getting nose slides! Your videos definitely inspired me to get on a board again!
Hey Aaron, I really wish I would've found your vid much earlier. I'm 51 and have always, since I was a kid, wanted to learn to skate. I finally took the plunge and bought my first board. Twenty minutes in, I lost my balance, fell backwards and trying to cushion my fall ended up hyperextending my elbow and of course ending up messing up my summer. You probably have the best beginner video out there and people such as myself really appreciate it. Watching this makes me want to go out there and try again, even with a f'd elbow and an arm in a sling. Thanks dude!!
Dynamic* stretching, your muscles go in to a protective state after static stretching and you're far more likely to pull or tear something if you static stretch prior to exercise (weights, running, skating, any of it)
I bought a board when i turned 30, never really got into it the way I planned due to relationship issues. Now, 3 years later, I'm picking it back up, learning the basics, tried some tic tacs, almost died (not really, it just felt like it when i lost balance for half a second), just learning to ride, and it feels great. And in part, this is all because I discovered this channel.
Picked up a skateboard for the first time in 20 years yesterday because my son (8yo) wanted to give it a try. This showed me how I was too focused on tricks. Really looking forward to just learning to cruise around together. Thanks
I’m 40 started to skateboard. Yesterday Been skating quads, inline and ice skating since I was 6, it’s a different world! As a MSK specialist, you don’t need any stretches. Just do 15 jump squat.
35 here teaching my 5 year old to skate we've been watching your channel his whole life and we love and appreciate all y'all thanks for everything looking forward to the future
I needed this after suffering a nasty fall a couple of years ago skating and now slowly getting back into it! I bombed a nice mile-long hill that was like a bunny slope. Felt great!
Awesome video, Aaron! I'm 32 and haven't skated since my teens, but this type of video truly makes me want to grab my board again. I even bought new bearings for the wheels but still haven't got to change them, just gotta take that first step! Now, regarding this video in particular, you should check with the cameraman (I guess it must be Derek) regarding the shaking of the camera. It's pretty noticeable. I know Gabe used to film on the Onewheel and that helped a lot to the smoothness of the filiming. Maybe you guys could consider using something like that.
36. Got back in a year ago. Couple injuries have put me out for a few months, but I'm still progressing. Take your time to stretch and definitely do warm up tricks. Skating has really improved my heart rate, breathing, and I have way more energy than I did before getting back into skating.
I'm 32 and have been wanting to skate since I was 6 or 7 and saw Rocket Power for the first time on Nickelodeon. It became my favorite thing but I'm so uncoordinated and have balance issues I was always scared to try, you've inspired me over the passed few years to really give it a shot for real. I know its gonna take a while, maybe even a few years, but my ultimate goal is to be able to drop in and air out. If I can get to that point I will be so incredibly happy. It just looks like so much fun. I'd love it if you guys did a new vert focused series. Maybe a new road to vert or something like that. Seriously, you guys rock, and Aaron...thank you so much. If I hadn't found you and Braille I never would have even tried.
I just started skateboarding in January at the age of 42. Everything in this video is how I've been progressing. Definitely need to remember to bend my knees and move shoulders first. Please make a continuation video of what to progress to next!! Thank you!
all the beginner pointers in one video, nice one! And Nigel can't say it enough, lean towards the direction you're moving to. Doing the things in the video is all you need to get comfortable on a board. Tictacking is a very low energy and gratifying way of moving forward, and when you get hold of it you can actually gain a lot of speed with it. After all of these years I still have a lot of problems switching to fakey, I can go from fakey to normal no sweat rolling back from a ramp, but normal to fakey I fail consistently. It's something I really feel I need to get over, my monster walk is terrible and I don't feel the same forces attempting it stationary. Not sure if I'm one of the few with this issue, but if you have some pointers on that in a future instruction video it would be great. I know I need to swing my upper body first but I just instantly feel out of balance when I lift my back wheels to switch, something I don't feel at all doing fakey to normal.
If you watching this video it took me 1 month just to be able to proper be able to ride the skate. ( 40 years ) . What I noticed is 40 years, sedentary, my knees just were not strong, took a time just to hold with bent knees and build force and balance. But when you do the first time is magic. ;). Thanks for the nice videos
33, got my board this week. Pads supposed to arrive tomorrow. Blessed to have a small little skatepark in my small little town Cant even kickturn 180 stationary, but im looking forward ti the kickflip off the funbox.
I just started skating at 42 - it's the most fun, terrifying and humiliating thing I've done in years. Am hoping to be able to tic tac by my 43rd birthday in May. Thank you for this video!
This is very true that you don't want to stretch before skating. It will increase the range of motion to the point that when you fall you can damage your joints because they were able to bend too much. Warm up before, stretch after.
33 and I started skating last summer, the weather where I am doesnt permit me to skate all year around, so Im stoked to be back on my board again this summer. So far I can ride around, I can ollie, and shuv it. My goal is to get better with ollies while rolling, and learn to frontside 180, backside 180, and pop my shuvits by the end of this summer. And if i get that sooner maybe kickflip too by the end of the summer.
Over 50 here! Been skateboarding for almost 3 years now. I love it! Started learning with my son when he was 8. Now my 7 year old is starting to learn. Mad fun!

Get that balance and control first. Then slowly work your way up to tricks that involve any kind of jumping. That's just my two cents.

This is the stuff, why i started watching you guys. Love it!!!!! Saw your how to kick flip tutorial a thousand times the last 2 months and finally my 46 year old back foot lifted and landed a few of them last Saturday. Thank you for teaching the world to skate.

I'm still working on mine, hopefully someday soon I make it! Comments like yours are always great to see, inspire me to keep trying. So, THANK YOU
Dude, you gave me hope.. I can't wait to get that skill back

I think 8.25 is absolutely wide enough. Wider boards are hard to kickflip.

Strengthening during off times helped me. Some squats and regular stretching helps in the long run. Lets keep going till 70 😂
I'm 35 and have been at parks again because both my sons now started with riding scooters. I couldn't resist and got back on my board... Today I learned how twisting your knee hurts. I definitely need a more active lifestyle again and need to relearn a lot slower, what I once could do easily.
@tubeyoului everything is a process and everyday is progress. Lets get it.
@@intjtoph When you look at all the 70yo that are playing ice hockey, yes, it is very possible for us to skateboard in our 70s!
47 and still skating strong. 50 is the new 30.
35 is the new 27
43 is the new 29
So true! Lets go 40 club
You guys also have to loose 20 pounds first ? 😅
@@sebastianbach6102 I weigh 125 lbs. I need to gain weight, not lose it.
This is exactly the type of video I need. I am turning 31 this year and I haven't stepped on my skateboard in years. I remember that I knew how to ollie and that is basically about it. So I would love to get in to it again. I get so inspired by watching your videos. I will definitely pick up my board again this summer and try.
Yes!!!! You got this!!
I’m with you bro 28 Turning 29 in a couple of days and can only Ollie myself
I’m 32 years old and about to get to be 33 in less than 5 months!! 90’s people for life!!!😉👍🏼
Over 30 and started Skating in January.
A new beginning! A new era! For braille and for me! ❤
Love this ❤️
Yeah, "that's me" - I stopped skating for eighteen years after doing it for maybe two and the only trick I was able to land was a very basic ollie (not even over an obstacle). Now I'm back in the game while being 34, beginning to feel comfortable landing my shuv-its and pop shuv-its and really feeling much more in control when learning the very basics properly thanks to your videos. Keep it real Aaron ✌🏻
Much love! Lets get it 🔥
Skateboarding was my first great love before music took over. Thank you!
Bro the Mr Rogers of skateboarding… thank you 🙏🏼 for getting back to the basics again.
44 here, with Parkinson’s disease and arthritis in back! I skated street in the 90s in LA. Now I’m in Phoenix learning transition. It’s very different!
So glad to see you return to your passion for teaching. It's a noble endeavor.
I'm 33 and skated from 13 to 22 and stopped but I've been watching your videos for like 4-5 years now and I've been itching to get back to it.
NICE! Heading to 40!!! My Knees, Ankles, and lower back hurt. Run out of steam in 15 minutes and sweat like a wholly Mammoth. Flip tricks threaten my boys below and scare me. On my way to defeat by age, but I still love it!
46 here, been skating for 2 years now, it will get better, except for the running out of steam part. Skate or die dude.
Father time is undefeated
You are still out there shredding that's so that matters.

33 years old here. I needed this video! My 8 year old has been getting into skating. I haven’t touched a board in 15 years. This has given me some confidence to get back into it! Gonna try ripping it with the kid! Thanks for this!
You are so welcome
Yes! You already know I love the beginner videos aimed at us older skaters. If you’re getting older and thinking about getting back on a board or getting on for the first time, do it! There’s no time like the present. Plus skateboarding is such a great thing you can do for yourself physically and mentally. Let’s go! 👍
I’m 62 start learning skate boarding.thanks for your trick I love it .
That is awesome!
🤣🤣🤣 I’m 62 as well. Just started learning !
Awesome
Awesome! Ill make more of these videos. Im aiming to make beginner and intermediate intermediate tutorials each week. Stay tuned
Love this. Have fun skating!
@@brailleskateboarding thanks!! I am enjoying it so much!!🛹
hey man, I just ordered my new skateboard yesterday to get back into it.
Tick tack is definitely not that easy ! 😂
I am 35 and started skateboarding this Monday. Thank you for this video 😊
Going back to the roots. Love to see it.
Aaron, I’m 36. I’ve been watching you guys for a while now. You guys got my old man bones on a board again. Let’s skate!!!
Start skating now and im
Over 40’ , so much fun together with my son.
Thank you. ❤
Thanks Aaron. 47 year tart here. Have restarted skateboarding here after a 30 year hiatus. You've been great help!
32 here and I’m falling in love for skateboarding!
I bought my first skate 15 days ago and I skate around 8km every day after finish my work, I’m starting doing “Tik tak” and I’m regular!
I will follow all your advices!
That is awesome!
I’m new to skating and 40. Thank you for the pointers!
Awesome! Keep shredding it gets better!
Also would be cool to see some beginner stuff based around a curb. I don’t have a park nearby but everywhere has a curb!
Love it
38 years old and decided to get back into.
Let’s go!!
I'm 36. I'm a beginner and your videos are helping me SO MUCH! Thank you! :) And don't stop making them!
Thanks Aaron, i am already 32, and I am starting skating after your videos. So much fun to realise i can do this inspite of age!
Im 35 and im starting to learn for about a month now, and riding and getting comfortable in my is one of the assignments our group leader gave me,
Great
Much love. Heal up!!
39 year old goofy foot here, just started up again a couple weeks ago and been having so much fun. So many more parks than when I was a teenager.
Loving the new content, Aaron! Getting back to your roots! ❤
More to come!
First video I saw was "how to ollie" 13 years ago when i first started skating helped me alot, now at 29 getting back into it!
33 and just got back into it a few weeks ago. Been progressing really well since finding the Braille channel.
I know I need to swing my upper body first but I just instantly feel out of balance when I lift my back wheels to switch, something I don't feel at all doing fakey to normal.
my skateboard comes in 4 days .Im over 30 and I cant wait to just apply what I watched , twice ! :D and see how it goes :) !

Also, I am doing this for 3 months, at last 10 minutes a day, and I am 20 kilos ligher :)
Being 42 I needed this video
33, got my board this week. Pads supposed to arrive tomorrow. Blessed to have a small little skatepark in my small little town Cant even kickturn 180 stationary, but im looking forward ti the kickflip off the funbox.
I just started skating at 42 - it's the most fun, terrifying and humiliating thing I've done in years. Am hoping to be able to tic tac by my 43rd birthday in May. Thank you for this video!
May baby here too and also started at 42, hoping to do something else beside rolling soon
This is very true that you don't want to stretch before skating. It will increase the range of motion to the point that when you fall you can damage your joints because they were able to bend too much. Warm up before, stretch after.
I am 51 and and getting back into it now to teach and have fun with my son.
Love it. 35 here and I've been watching your videos for many years now, but I've never actually tried to skate.. but I plan to.
Over 40 and started a little over a year ago skating. I accept there are things I will never do. But there are so many fun things I CAN do!
