Ah I wish I had seen this a week ago, I just got my first skateboard and got an 8.25 as I just presumed bigger is better for beginners, like it is for surfing. This will be really helpful for my next one though! 😊
I know going big might seem better but depends, if you want to do kick flips, Ollie’s, etc. I suggest a smaller width and if I wanna go skating down stairs or bars, you would need a bigger width for foot support.
Does it matter what size board you get ? Bc I’ve been wanting to learn how to skateboard for a while now but I’m nervous to get one bc I don’t even know what the things are called for the board
joanna h like I said, departs on your foot size. Whatever your feet feels comfortable with but I suggest a smaller width if you want to do flips and tricks that go sliding down bars which is scary at first for beginners.
@@KPark-hn8jf i dont have a very nice neighborhood and it has bumpy roads and rocks. I need something that can go fast and smooth but can still do some tricks, not the super hard ones. But atleast the basics. What would you recommend?

great video, I quit skateboarding 15 years ago and it's been itching for a while. so after watching this video I went out to my local store and got a really nice setup with your tips in mind. now let's watch your video on how to set it up. great to see u guys inspiring me and others to start or get back into skating. cheers from the Netherlands
Good idea for a vid. About to buy a new deck for the first time in 15+ years....was just gonna go with a blank but that gold zelda-style Revive deck is sick! And that employee dudebro is baked as hell. :P
I wish I had a local skate shop and skate park because then it’s difficult for me to practice , and what they do with there good grades and get some free items is awesome
I am 14 now and wanted to skate board since I was 10 but my parents won’t accept buying a skateboard because they think I’ll hurt myself ffs I am not a kid anymore it won’t hurt I love skateboarding and know what I’ll buy one with no permission just for what I love
Had the same problem, I had to play cello so skateboarding was forbidden as it gives high probability to break your wrists. Now I'm 25 and Braille UA-cam channels are inspiring me to start skateboarding and make my dream come true. I got 2 boys now so I'm gonna try to teach them and learn myself
Hey dude youre definitely still a kid. Youre 14 man not 18. But look man total respect for wanting to ride. But you also gotta give respect to your parents dude, i mean they make the decision for getting you a board since youre livingunder their roof . If i were you id totally persuade them, get safety gear, get good grades, show them you totally deserve to shred. Dont try to be a poser rebel little dude. Get good.
I just learned how to skate using my dads old as heck oldschool Santa Cruz skateboard anf it's do satisfying. I've been skating for a day and I'm already going down extremely steep hills. Idk what im doing but i havent found out a way to stop yet so either i just ride until the speed wears off or i fall. Thanks dude
I once went to a skateboard shop. I was looking at boards and one guy said that it's better to build my board since i'm a beginner and it wouldn't cost much. But, then a girl came up to me also and told me that it's better that they could make my board for me but it's expensive. I'm very confused now
mine were very nice. when i asked if something was necessary they told me it wasn’t and didn’t lie to me for extra money. i got a complete and just changed out the wheels. unless you’re going to the olympics, completes are great and you can just change out anything if you want.
This video is great. Good information for beginners, and supporting local shops. I personally have been to Orbit many times when staying in Oakland. Cheers Braille!
just looking how to start skateboarding and your video really help me to know part about the boards. thank you and i think im gonna go to my local shops too
Hey bro, just an idea, try going back to the street skating videos, you could definitely get more traction in your content as that’s more relevant and popular in today’s culture for skating
Braille Skateboarding Yes! I thoroughly enjoyed it as it seemed refreshing to see you guys outside of the normal warehouse. Never stop producing, I always enjoy your content and so do many other people ❤️
This skate shop gives some great offers, and really boosts the community. I think rather than build a complete for a kid, maybe show them and let them help out so they can learn.
I remember hours and hours of practicing alone, rolling ankles bailing on stairs i had no business on, just to be called a poser every day at school by the rich kid skaters. I guess west coast is way different than east.

Going to a local shop to get my first setup in a few days. I absolutely can't wait
Ay I was just at orbit today
same
Well we dont live in u.s.a im in php lol php have bad bearings but its still good
seasoned sk8er still wanted to watch.
Damn it I wanna go to orbit. I have good grades T^T
“it’s all personal preference” like that doesn’t help too much lmao
Hurriicanes If you want any tips I'll help you out if you want. For the most part he meant like colours etc. lol 😊✌️
@@KPark-hn8jf i dont have a very nice neighborhood and it has bumpy roads and rocks. I need something that can go fast and smooth but can still do some tricks, not the super hard ones. But atleast the basics. What would you recommend?
@@takumifujiwara9072 i got some bit wide 54 mm spit firws so there kinda like tiny long board wheels because they are so
smooth yet let you so tricks
@@takumifujiwara9072 the hardness of your wheel should be high around 99 thats the best for sandy roads last longer like he saied about board size depends on your foot size so good luck
@@takumifujiwara9072 get shark wheels
Hey why don't you guys make a discord but for skating so you guys can help out people in a faster way? And talk about it in one place?
Million dollar idea? Make it yourself and be rich 😂
Well they have video for almost every tricks you want and tel you how to do it in the video. I dont think you can really learn skatboarding by doing a conversation by telephonne/microphonne. + They alrdy made SKATEBOARDING MADE SIMPLE to help other out.
Dubs One well sometimes it might not be enough some of the newer or even older skaters and almost a immediate response in the chat
yes pls braille
Or a subreddit
My parents dont want me to skate and my father said he'll beat me up if I get one but I think skating is beautiful I saved 110 euros and I'll try to buy my first skateboard tomorrow at my local toy shop (they sell skateboards) I watched alot of you're videos and I'm subscribed I think you are really inspiring and amazing ^^
From personal experience, reds are great
I still have my bone reds for 12 yeqrs ago and are still fast af and working strong love bones bearings
great video, I quit skateboarding 15 years ago and it's been itching for a while. so after watching this video I went out to my local store and got a really nice setup with your tips in mind. now let's watch your video on how to set it up. great to see u guys inspiring me and others to start or get back into skating. cheers from the Netherlands
Braille back at it again twice in one day I like it... I like it a lot 👍👍👍👍👍
Dude I've been watching braille and people like Andrew shrock for a long time and I love you're channel it's helped me be a better skater, thanks man
Just bought my first board off of Braille due to Covid...and so far I love it! Thanks for all the videos and taking care of the community.
That is awesome, I hope you keep skating even after life goes back to normal
Braille Skateboarding definitely planning on it! Super excited.
The nearest skate shop is a 1and half hour drive so I'm stuck with zumez
Hunty Oof same bro I feel u
YO I FELT THIS
Bro skate warehouse
What makes Zumiez not a skate shop? They sell everything one would need to skate plus more right?
@@reggocastro9301 decks are overpriced
Good idea for a vid. About to buy a new deck for the first time in 15+ years....was just gonna go with a blank but that gold zelda-style Revive deck is sick! And that employee dudebro is baked as hell. :P
Yup he's fucking liiiiiiiit
I’m glad that I live in that area because I can go to all the places that you guys promote and go to.
I wish I had a local skate shop and skate park because then it’s difficult for me to practice , and what they do with there good grades and get some free items is awesome
watching all these skateboard videos makes me want to skateboard again
Go go go! Let’s go skate!
Something about these skateboard setups I find satisfying
I am 14 now and wanted to skate board since I was 10 but my parents won’t accept buying a skateboard because they think I’ll hurt myself ffs I am not a kid anymore it won’t hurt I love skateboarding and know what I’ll buy one with no permission just for what I love
Same..
good luck, my parents are so striccttttttt
Had the same problem, I had to play cello so skateboarding was forbidden as it gives high probability to break your wrists. Now I'm 25 and Braille UA-cam channels are inspiring me to start skateboarding and make my dream come true. I got 2 boys now so I'm gonna try to teach them and learn myself
Hey maybe you cab persuade them by getting lessons or the necessary safety gear like knee and elbow pads
Get good.
Buying my VERY FIRST board next week. Can’t wait to try something new ^_^
Is it next week yet and did you get it and what is the parts
It’s two weeks now, did you buy it? How you like it?
How's it feel after a year?
@@jackiekingston8365 great. It’s been an amazing board to ride
Every place needs this shop
Respect 👏👏
15:43 Had my volume quite low and wasn't looking at the screen/his mouth. Thought he said "sell them to buy drugs".
the wheel size makes way more of a difference than the bearing, reds with a wheel 2mm bigger will roll much better than ceramics with tiny wheels
I'm very confused now
Probably so they can make some more money for the shop. Support your local skate shops
mine were very nice. when i asked if something was necessary they told me it wasn’t and didn’t lie to me for extra money. i got a complete and just changed out the wheels. unless you’re going to the olympics, completes are great and you can just change out anything if you want.
I don't have a skate shop I live in New Zealand
We just sent some gear to a shop in New Zealand. Sorry it isn't near you!
Same,I live in New Zealand aswell
Selina Hong not in my area they are just surf and clothing shops
Zack Morgan sounds like you should start one!
Cheapskates and empire
Orbit looks like an amazing shop and great prices and they opened in 95 when I was born nice 👍
This video is great. Good information for beginners, and supporting local shops.
I personally have been to Orbit many times when staying in Oakland. Cheers Braille!
Dude San Francisco has such flat land for skateboarding! Skate shops with good grades free boards! I'm jealous xD
I agree
just looking how to start skateboarding and your video really help me to know part about the boards. thank you and i think im gonna go to my local shops too
First board I had was a Walmart with a Stone Cold Steve Austin graphic.
Hey bro, just an idea, try going back to the street skating videos, you could definitely get more traction in your content as that’s more relevant and popular in today’s culture for skating
We are definitely going to do more of those. Did you see the one we posted last week?
Braille Skateboarding Yes! I thoroughly enjoyed it as it seemed refreshing to see you guys outside of the normal warehouse. Never stop producing, I always enjoy your content and so do many other people ❤️
Props to this skateshop giving back to the community!!
My grades have been good for a while I think I’m gonna get myself a skateboard
Awesome!
Bruh
I learned how to double heel im so hyped
This skate shop gives some great offers, and really boosts the community. I think rather than build a complete for a kid, maybe show them and let them help out so they can learn.
The report card thing is a super sick idea hope kids take full advantage of this
0:55 how I pull up at my homies house while riding my sisters bike
i actually skate for a long while and know everything about it but i still watching this idk why but i love it :)
I remember hours and hours of practicing alone, rolling ankles bailing on stairs i had no business on, just to be called a poser every day at school by the rich kid skaters. I guess west coast is way different than east.
I don't have a skate shop in my area
