They changed the super famicom to a N64 because that better resembles the era in which part 4 is. Part 4 takes place in '99 but was written between '92-'95. The N64 released in September 26, 1996.

So the tl;dr is: The anime fixes some of Araki's minor mistakes and adds some foreshadowing that Araki couldn't have known himself because he didn't plan that far ahead. All in all, they did a pretty good job.
And moved the Cinderella Arc to before the Sheer Heart Attack Arc which is defitantly better story wise.

Part 4 is my favorite. It’s hilarious, the color pallet is beautiful, and it’s simple and contained while still having good stakes. That and Kira is legitimately creepy

A minor one you forgot was the Pepsi billboard the group was scheduled to meet Hayato at. In the manga, it was the background of the billboard was white to match Pepsi's label at the time, but in the anime, it was changed to the blue background that began in the late 90s.
It doesn't really mean much, considering it's not like the billboard had a specified color in the first place. That's trivia, not an established difference in the adaptation.

I actually find it kind of sad that they didn't show those small details about Kira's meticulousness, like wearing gloves when he's inside the school or looking around before revealing his stand. I feel like that adds another aspect of his character that shows he's not one to make mistakes so easily and is completely fastidious in his behavior. But I suppose that anime ending makes up for that.

The anime just made everything more recognizable and really gave the vibes of a small town, giving minor characters names, repeating them to make it feel like there's not much people anyways, and really just making you feel home.
I hope they extend the part 5 ending too like they did part 4 considering they both ended abruptly

@@DoganME I'm pretty sure that's the only canon novel alongside Thus spoke Kishibe Rohan (which was made into OVA's as well) , so there's a chance. It was even illustrated by Araki himself.

it might sound weird, but the cut I liked the least is Kira measuring the distance for the air bullet explosion, it was such a great panel (very informative, too), and was even homaged well in the All Star battle fighting game, which may have it's problems, but at the very least was incredible for fanservice

People like to shit on the Part 4 anime because the animation isn't as good sometimes but honestly I love it, it was made with a lot of love with tons of foreshadowing for future events and the direction is really awesome and stylish. Probably my favorite JoJo adaptation so far tbh
They fixed the animation and character model mistakes for the home releases.

fun facts: rohan's car on "bites the dust arc" actually different. in manga it looks like a hatchback (might be nissan S12 silvia or a toyota ae85/86 corolla) but in the anime it looks like a nissan 300ZX

I hate that they removed Joseph's Walkman (upgraded to a Minidisc). And also that it was elaborated upon that both Okuyasu and Jotaro threatened Akira in prison. Kira's math got axed, too, and that was always a sweet moment.

I love the DP addtions that help connect the town, just wish we jad a little more Josuke and a bit more character focused moments that connected with the plot, but so far my favorite part tbh.

I have conflicting feelings about this part. They add a lot of good new scenes, but on the other hand also remove some good stuff from the manga. It would be very cool if they animated josuke practicing with the dice.
I feel that it's impossible to pick between manga or anime. Both should be seen.
Fist Me Daddy I enjoyed the manga way more cause they cut all the good character interactions in the anime. They were not really necessary but these moments addet to the characters & made me like them way more.

Non Stand users can't even see or hear the explosions from Killer Queen so Shigechi would just disintegrate quickly and one could just think they're imagining things
@@meggubravo8373 thats the thing though; yoshikage kira already exhibits other obsessive compulsive tendencies throughout the part(obligatory mention of being irrationally bothered by koichi's sock), so including those small irrational paranoias such as looking over his shoulder in an enclosed space and putting gloves as a superstition make a lot of sense for his characterization.
I feel like Josuke just looks way better in the anime. The smoother art style fits his personality more in my opinion

I mean, some of them are things that he forgets, like Josuke's birthmark in the manga among other things, but for some reason the one's that are actual mistakes are completely overshadowed by things he didnt actually forget.
its not that he forgets, its moreso that he just has a unique writing style: coming up with shit as he goes along.
he's gone on record saying he's had certain concepts and general plots figured out before he's begun writing, but he usually seems to work out most of the details as things go by. that's why certain concepts are brought up a few times and then get ignored afterwards.
that being said, david productions generally does an excellent job conveying the same story with minor useful adjustments that "fix" certain minor errors invoked by araki's writing style.
So far these changes in the anime are very positive ones. They really put a lot of love and attention into crafting the anime
I like how the art style change in the manga is more gradual, to the point we can have a "part 3 Josuke"

Little detail but it describes main character well. In manga it was quick cut from Tomoko and Josuke's grandpa to attempt to supermarket robbery

In the Manga is a white trenchcoat with a white T-shirt but in the Anime he has a blue sweater and a yellow/green shirt beneath that same trenchcoat
The color choices aren’t canon per se so generally they aren’t considered when discussing changes AFAIK. The neck area being drawn slightly differently in the anime than in the manga would count though.

Because although I appreciate some colour changes, like Giorno's switch to a pink outfit instead of navy blue one for example, there are some changes I want to see stay the same. Joylne's hair colour is one. Loved that green and blue aesthetic. Also Gyro's bright lime green lips, eyes and steel balls. Those are 2 minor ones, that I really REALLY hope stay the same. Even though like you said, colours are not necessarily Canon. :-(
@Radican69: Yeah I know... Just nitpicking. I still would absolutely LOVE for the green and blue to stay the same in Jolyne's hair for Part 6 by the way. Can't imagine her without it.
I love this act so much because we often see Kira or other person hidden in the crowd but we did not notice them because we did not know who it was it is by watching the act a second time that we can see it and I this is amazing for me

I feel like the worst offence is removing the Kira math. It's such an awesome detail about Kira' mind for preparation and ability. He states he was hoping to use Stray Cat; so it makes sense he had the ability. It adds further depth to Kira himself, while making the differences between Josuke and himself much clearer - as it comes a bit after Josuke beats him in close-range. It cements that Kira is level-headed and uses all advantages he can get.
It's also like a call-forward to what Gappy does in Part 8

The N64 is such great attention to detail. I think Araki wrote part 4, 5 and 6 before the time they actually took place, so it's nice that the anime makes slight corrections for historical accuracy.
The Bites the Dust arc is genuinely one of the best in the series

I love how much foreshadowing and head nodding there is to the audience upon rewatching as long as you’re paying attention. It would make sense that the people later in the series are already in Morioh and can be seen since it’s a small town.

I love how the anime adds lots of unnoticeable but important details, like cheap tricks user and kira both showed with their backs turned in normal scenes before they are used as antagonists, adding to the theme of a small town.
