i once defeated Admiral Ackbar, 4 Corellian Corvettes including that Antilles guy, and at least a dozen starfighter squadrons of all different sizes with a single level 1 space station and two Tartan corvettes in Empire at War.
That's nothing. I defeated THREE Mon Cal Cruisers, two Nebulon Class frigates, and a crapload of fighters with only Thrawn and a handful of Star Destroyers. But then again, I did have Thrawn leading the fleet. That would count as cheating......
I think the point of the Rebellion end game vids is to demonstrate how weakened by defeats one's flagship has become, besides the fact that in all the variants, the losers are effectively ambushed/suffer a surprise attack. Notice for instance how the Imperial SSD's support fleet has dwindled from at least 4-5 Star Destroyers to merely one when the Rebels attack. On a side note, these imperials in this video are in no small hurry to leave doncha think :D

Think about it they came in pretty fast those ISD's. and given how fast they tore about that mon cal ship they were most likely caught off gaurd and didnt have time to turn on their sheilds when the ISD's opened fired.
they will but with the firepower coming from three star destroyers I think they would have got through fairly quick if the ship had more sheilding anyway.
yeah, things do go to hell very quickly... one time 2 a-wings defeated my stardestroyer! and I was left astonished... I sent 5 tie fighters in they blew up and then my stardestroyer was defenseless for some reason...
Geekily enough, the Mon Cal ship depicted is identical to Home One (3.8km long) in terms of the way it looks, but is only on the scale of one of the smaller ships (1.2-1.3km) that generally feature in the games. Either way, I love these cutscenes.

Pffft... what are those, paper planes? In TIE Fighter, flagship battles were EPIC, taking half a mission even when STDs were helping. And this big-ass cruiser dies from ten hits?
wtf? a star destroyer is never greater than one mc cruiser. in the Battle of Endor, it has also destroyed several mc cruiser and taken up with and has failed to explode immediately.
I find empire at war far superior. Particularly with some of the mods available. Rebellion (aka Supremacy here in the UK) was quite fun, but the computer was never very good at playing, and after a while, conquest just got a bit dull

Oh yes, X Wing Alliance. It was a bit weird as other materials pretty much all say ISDs are 1.6km, but Alliance put them at 2km
