I love handstands so much, I've got all the easy stuff clean except hollow back (back injury), and all the hard stuff except press multiples to an ok standard. Currently trying to work through wrist injuries so can't train as much as I would like.
I care not about the grading. I just think the guy doing the handstands to music is brilliant. Plus he looks like he's having so much fun. Dance is definitely the best form of exercise - hands down!! 👏
Would have been cool to add things like tripod headstand, Crow pose or Handstand against the wall. Things that are easier then a normal Handstand help building up the skills.
It was a bit tricky for me to learn HS on bars at first, but once you get used to how you need to apply pressure through your grip to rebalance, you'll realize that you actually have slightly better power and control than on flat floor. V3/V4 for regular HS on parallettes. If you're talking about actual gymnastics parallel bars (4 feet off the floor), then bump it up to V5 for high ball fear factor.
This is one of the coolest Handstand videos I've ever seen. Great work! I notice how the elite Handstand practitioners at the end are not named. Strange how the greats mostly live in anonymity except for the rare few like Pavel Stankevich that have social media presence
Damn these are hardcore. A few worth adding is the tiger bend handstand and dead press handstands and 90 degree handstand push up. Still really cool video thank you for putting this together. :)
Love the channel! Did your lockdown exercises when the climbing gym was closed along with fingerboard exercises and was able to keep my climbing fitness; thanks again! Welp, I am lvl 3 on your scale, which funny enough matches my climbing level. Can’t wait for more videos!
no, the impossible grade is possible, since you have examples. The true impossible grade is the one arm freestanding handstand pushup, which hasn't been done by anybody, because it's mechanically impossible to balance.
Der Moment wenn ich realisiere , das ich den One-Arm-Handstand längst kann und mich Richtung One-Arm- Press begehe und garantiert noch 3 Jahre brauche 😢
i'm a v12 handbalancer working on OA stalder, OA switch, and OA croc to OAH, but bro you missed the level of flags, there were no handbalancing flags, I feel like a handbalancing flag is probably a v11 or v10 because the balance isn't hard but the flexibility, strength, and coordination is high.
walking handstand imo is easier balance wise than standing straight handstand. If you start leaning too much to one direction you just start walking in that direction to correct. At the very least it should be the same rating for balance difficulty compared to straight handstand
I just started when i was 7 cause all my friends would try handstands i came back from the holidays being able to do a handstand for 10+ seconds while my friends could only do it for like 2 seconds
Another great video! I've been practicing my hand stands over the past few months and I think it's had a great impact on my climbing in terms of shoulder stability and body tension. Do you think it's worth it for climbers to invest time working calisthenics moves like this?
Definitely! A lot of top climbers either actively practice handstands or come from a gymnastics background. Alex Megos, Nathaniel Coleman, Brooke Raboutou, Margo Hayes, Tomoa Narasaki, Meagan Martin to name a few. Handstands are also great antag for wrists and fingers.
Ale De I started improving at climbing when I started doing pull-ups at home whenever I was bored.. I didn’t really know what I was doing so it wasn’t an ideal training plan but 🤷🏻♂️ getting stronger always helps with climbing 😅
Too much handstand push-up make u too swole. Very heavy for climbing. Should adjust training plan. 2 and a half regular push-up for each hour of climbing is good balance. 👍
Isn't it consider a bit safer for the elbows do start with arms a bit bent and then move on to the straight arm thing when you have already mastered it? I've struggled with golfer's elbow and had to stop my handstand practice for a while because of that but I saw that suggestion in several places as a suggestion to put less pressure on it.
nice try, but this star system is nonsense:) mexican doesnt not require more mobility than a flag One star difference between straddle and closed legs on two arms and one star difference between handstand an one arm on floor??? In which parallel universe?
I love handstands so much, I've got all the easy stuff clean except hollow back (back injury), and all the hard stuff except press multiples to an ok standard. Currently trying to work through wrist injuries so can't train as much as I would like.
I love how organized and well paced your videos are. Keep up with the great work
I care not about the grading. I just think the guy doing the handstands to music is brilliant. Plus he looks like he's having so much fun. Dance is definitely the best form of exercise - hands down!! 👏
I love how you ranked these, i can't even do a handstand yet :0
Yeah, breakdancers and circus/dance workers are just another breed of strong.
Haha very good! when you get into advanced handstands there's so many impossible things to explore it's overwhelming hahahah
Would have been cool to add things like tripod headstand, Crow pose or Handstand against the wall. Things that are easier then a normal Handstand help building up the skills.
Heaps of good content on that already, this channel Included. This video is more for advanced/inspiration I guess.
beautiful, inspiring. Human potential realized in one facet
Very cool video! How would you rank the handstand on parallel bars?

1 star jajaja
Love the descriptions of each movement. I do hand balancing but didn’t know the actual terminology for most movements
beautiful

1:02 that's awesome
Damn these are hardcore. A few worth adding is the tiger bend handstand and dead press handstands and 90 degree handstand push up. Still really cool video thank you for putting this together. :)
Wow the last one was insane. What about clap handstand push up?
Love the channel! Did your lockdown exercises when the climbing gym was closed along with fingerboard exercises and was able to keep my climbing fitness; thanks again!
Welp, I am lvl 3 on your scale, which funny enough matches my climbing level. Can’t wait for more videos!
Mhh, I would also add the "90 deg. Push up" after the deep HPU

I’m guessing it would require bonkers core stability as it would turn into a dynamic vertical planche almost
thank you for this video.
Der Moment wenn ich realisiere , das ich den One-Arm-Handstand längst kann und mich Richtung One-Arm- Press begehe und garantiert noch 3 Jahre brauche 😢
I can full planche but I can't hold one arm straddle handstand yet
@@VegetaUltraEgo4Nice!!
@@VegetaUltraEgo4One arm planching is my next step🫶🏼. Ich möchte ihm dann man one arm handstand verbinden
very entertaining video. Thanks!
I can hold one arm handstand for 20 seconds in different positions but i cannot do press to handstand haha

great video mate, 90°HSPU, planche press to HS (tuck, straddle, full), 1 arm planche press to HS is missing
I made it to 14
to be fair, hand hop require less balance than a straddle one arm handstand
walking handstand imo is easier balance wise than standing straight handstand. If you start leaning too much to one direction you just start walking in that direction to correct. At the very least it should be the same rating for balance difficulty compared to straight handstand
Controlled walk is different then a falling walk.
This video is dope lol good stuff
Cool video but how would you rank handstand on still rings? And Japanese handstand.or inverted Cross.
Jesus i can't handstand at lvl 1 ....
I just started when i was 7 cause all my friends would try handstands i came back from the holidays being able to do a handstand for 10+ seconds while my friends could only do it for like 2 seconds
@@skylord181 And look at you now, this many 🖐️ years later!
Hows your handstand now????
Sick video
regular hand hops definitely easier than one arm handstand hold
I didn’t even know the shit at the end existed let alone possible wtf🤯
Nice! 🌟
does anyone know what that first song is named? its just so zen
The hand swap at 5:12 😮
Yup. Mistakes cannot be made.
great video, I guess you could've add airflare (breakdancing move) as well ! It's more of a dynamic move, but still in the handstand kind
no it aint

Wouldn't planches count as handstands ? If so where would you put them ? ( ie planches, planche push ups, planche press and maltese ? )
Why is there no elements of Pavel Stankevich?
That's crazy!
Gracias muy útil
Is it possible to do a one arm handstand push up??
Never seen it. Lead the way!
I can pike press but can’t hspu
Damn i want to learn the one arm handstand hops hahaha. This way I can say I know one dance move.
What would you rank One arm handstand flag?
no ring hand stands?
ring HSPU?
inverted cross?
Can I train hand stand in evening, Afternoon and morning (5 days in a week).
handstand one arm full position
If only handstands could translate into climbing directly
I don't understand how the handstand level translate to the specific climbing grades?
One finger hand stand???
now i know were to go...
Do 1990s and Airflares count?
Well I have my v8-v9 on handstand! Still stuck at v4-5 on the wall but at least my calisthenics skills are on point
You need a decent amount of mobility to get into a handstand with good alignment
L-sit to Pike Press is much harder in my opinion than one arm hand stand straddle or straight
wtf cap
First! Love the channel
I climb V7 but I can only handstand for like 5 seconds 😅😂
The reverse for me 😂
Ale De I guess it goes to show the time spent 😅 I’ve spent like 2 hours practicing hand stands in my life, and a couple hundred hours climbing
@@luketufts6827 I do both but I plateaued on climbing

@@chill-potato Wolfgang Güllich did the first 9a by training his muscle. But I have to climb more also yeah
If you have the discipline to get to a V9+ handstand you definitely have the work ethic to climb at least V8.
Where are the 90 degree handstand push ups?
those are planche not handstands
You should’ve Added one finger handstand
ur stalder press is bent arm, does it count?
Isn't it consider a bit safer for the elbows do start with arms a bit bent and then move on to the straight arm thing when you have already mastered it? Sofie Dossi: *You underestimate me.*
Im sorry but the pike press aint harder than the deep HSPU haha.
I can bearly do deep HSPU, while i do pike presses ezz
The hardest handstand is one finger handstand
no sense with these grades :D
And the flags? and figas are too hard
Lol I’m at the level of stalder press🙃
The last one was crazy lol right
nice try, but this star system is nonsense:)
mexican doesnt not require more mobility than a flag
