"Your generic TIE grunt is just plain suicidal. And the TIE Defender jockey is bloodthirsty. But the TIE Interceptor pilot, he's suicidal and bloodthirsty. When you see a squad of those maniacs flying your way, you'd better hope your hyperdrive is operational."

I was never a big fan of these kinds of quotes. The TIE fighter was superior to the Xwing in all ways except shields. As we've seen, shields give you a 2nd chance if you take a hit. But if you have someone on your tail it's hard to lose them. The TIE's could out turn Xwings and were slightly more maneuverable.
Everyone forgets that the Xwing was perfect for the Rebels as it was hyperspace capable & could do more damage to capital ships with its heavier quad blaster cannons than the TIE's dual blaster cannons. They didn't pick it because it was a dogfighting master. TIE interceptors should scare any Xwing pilot on sight as it blows them out of the water on every single state minus shields.

    Great short video,
As soon as I saw the name Talon Squadron and felt a feeling of dread, then remembered why.
In the novel "Star Wars: X-Wing, Wrath Squadron" Talon was a squadron trained by Derik 'Hobbie' Klivian and Wes Janson (2 of the pilots from Rogue group on Hoth in the Empire Strikes Back), on their first and only mission Talon lost 11 of their 12 members in an ambush, the sole survivor was Talon 1, Myn Donos, who went into severe depression after his astromech was destroyed (he saw the droid as the last Talon, as long as the droid survived he had not failed all the Talons) before his new friends in Wrath squadron managed to help him through it, he later joined Rogue Squadron.

But for the love of god, can we PLEEEEEEEASE have just ONE fan film that doesn't have endless "this is better than " bashing in the comments? Especially when some people cannot seem to divorce writing and story from visuals and animation. The production designers, graphics and animation teams are working their asses off, and deserve far more respect than that. They didn't write the film, they're just modeling the craft and creating the motion.

The Galactic Civil War is heavily based off the Pacific theater of WW2. Where the heavy military that relied on agile ships with a fanatical devotion to an Emperor fought against everyday people in durable ships who fought for Democracy and each other. ... So in a way you are right. The Rebellion on average has much better pilots then the Empire because Rebel pilots would actually survive their battles. Though an elite Imperial was something scary, the Rebellion would win simply because they did better with teamwork.

The only real gripe, is the X-wings had no shields. They can take several laser hits before it even breaches the shields. That Interceptor would have scored, likely, two less kills. X-wings are tough. That is a huge reason why they were so dominant.

Agreed I suppose it could be the other way round as well like I wise it’s just a half baked idea that I metaphorically and literally pulled out of my behind although I’m sure if that were the case, I’m sure it get more likes on rotten tomatoes than the last Jedi 🤣😂🤣😂, but jokes aside that would be a cool plot twist where during the civil war a separatist and republic kids were best friends in the mid rim, just boarding the separatist and republic and one saw calamity and chaos whilst the other saw Tyrant’s and oppression, they both join the republic as auxiliary troops and whilst not exactly on the frontlines, their bonds grew stronger and stronger, however when the war ended and the empire was raised the child who saw chaos joined the empire and the one that saw tyranny defected and joined the rebels, all the while falling in love with his commanding officer, also we could go over the ideological struggles of how faceless the stormtroopers are whilst having fun in the barracks only for the rebel to blow up the unknown troopers ship and some of the war crimes the rebels committed such as using a medical distress signal to call for an imperial recovery fleet made up of civilians, only to get caught up in the blast and so on, during an engagement the imperial encounters his old friend and was wounded, after the battle the rebels gather up prisoners and start executing them, the rebels friends face is revealed and his lover shoots him in the chest and leaves, remembering what and why he signed up to be a rebel and how some of their actions such as assassinating a planetary govern led to a brutal civil war turning it into a wasteland and that, for all the rebels propaganda they were still terrorists who had an illegitimate claim since the oldest of power was democratically handed over to palpatine and we could also have supporting characters such as a moff who actually was pretty nice and treated his men surprisingly decently and treated them very well and interacted with them, all the while he does commit a few crimes such as allowing slavery of the wookies and drug cartels but outside of a few personal interests, he’s even willing to send relief aid and assistance who unfortunately gets executed because of his title despite being very kind, another side character could also be a quick witty female scout who likes to tease the loyal character, (oh come on slow poke with that attitude you’ll never catch me😉) and whilst she does have a crush due to protocols it’s mostly flirting or teasing, and finally an alien twielek who was once a slave but is a mad supporter of the empire and is the commanding officer whose no nonsense attitude and drill Sargent personality makes her cold to others, however whenever she’s alone she’s weak, scared and alone and despite her tactical brilliance as well as her martial prowess being able to despatch several rebel spies, she’s terrible in unarmed combat or whenever dealing with zygerrian’s she shows a strong personality but whenever alone falls into a mental breakdown due to past trauma. (Being British unfortunately all of the side characters die🤣😂🤣😂 just kidding, it’s really up to the director🤣😂😂), and when the short movies over it shows the nuances about others factions and how they both wanted the same thing but went two separate ways, a strong, proud, safe and secure empire in both life and jobs, the rebels who want democracy, hugs and freedom, despite one being controlled by an evil dictatorship where freedom and liberty aren’t allowed vs a bunch of self serving corrupt politicians who’d sell you out faster that Han Solo can draw. Sorry for the long winded rabble but it’s nice to present ones ideas and opinions I suppose🤣😂🤣

Actually pretty well done. The fighter cams and blaster tracing- especially up close -feels very kinetic. Spinning and shaking were fine. My gripes are in the lighting. Everything feels way too dark if you've ever watched (and i'm sure you have) any starwars space action sequence. On that note, your TIEs don't have exaust plumes of their own for some reason. Solid foundation, however. Great work.
